also I don't know what the "textbook" technique for breathing is, but for these songs you have to able to hold your breathe for a long time. To help excercise your diaphram, a good excercise is to take a deep breathe from your diaphram, hold it as long as you can while counting as high as you can, If you keep it up, you'll see in time that you can sing without have to take as many breathes. Good practice songs for this would be some Italian Arias

P.s. my comment isn't to say that you did a bad job on this song. This song is VERY difficult to sing (I can barely sing it well either). And requires a Gospel range. This was simply an opinion from one singer to another.

First, I want to say you have a GOOD voice. But this song does not suit your voice. This song requires a large amount of range;pushing your low voice higher and vice versa. Also, I agree with toddlerchar, you should use vibrato on the longer notes. It gives the notes more warmth and makes it sound less shrill. If I could offer any advice for this song:It'd be work on your range, go outside your comfort zone and sing the higher/lower notes, Instead of staying in the midrange.Keep up the good work

Your voice does not suit this song. It was a very good voice, and in tune. But the voice clearly sounds like the contemporary music rather than ballads from way back. Your breathing technique in preparation for a high note is a text-book example of how girls like Demi and Miley sing.

Actually, now i browsed your channel and saw the song titles. I think I am correct about the type of songs you should sing. If you want to continue singing ballads such as this, then vary your intensity, pitch and put a little vibrato into the same note very often, and keep intensity levels in the song as far apart as possible. In this performance, the entire song had the same intensity.
