  • So basically the lower pitch strings you only play one note right? Bcoz there is no where to put your fingers?!

  • The type of instrument I have here is called a swan-neck 13-course baroque lute and was used late in the baroque and into the classical periods. The lower strings are only played with the right hand thumb and played open like a harp. They're actually set up to be plucked two at a time: a bass string and an octave above.
