yeah i run a 3600-6, cummins motor, considering i came straight out of a dash 5, it took a bit of getting used to the shorter control levers. but the cummins does purr nicely. its a very quick machine. new ladder/steps are awesome. the cab is very nice though the air con needs to be a little more powerful considering there is more glass in new cab....

Awesome vid. Does it have the Cummins OR Mitsu motor in it. We got a dash 6 with a Cummins in it as the rep on the Mitsu motor wasn't pretty. Awesome upgrade considering the move away from the Murphy gauges and old style cab and controls. Like a digger with an X BOX for controls.

Awesome looking with double rams ! i worked on the M25 north of London and we had about 4 Cat 245's in early eighties and they were great machines.

@54spiritedwill54 Agreed, I've had the chance to pilot an EX350LC, and it was the quietest, most economical machine I've ever run. Easy to use computer controls, the variable speed selector, and the A/C! We now have a Deere (in addition) with an inferior and less economical engine, and it makes less power!

@54spiritedwill54 That's not a construction machine; its a mining machine. On the construction end, the Hitachi's are good, but I don't think they are as good as Cat, Deere or Komatsu. But, that's just my opinion.

@54spiritedwill54 More info: Check out the specs on the Hitachi ZX 450 excavator on the Hitachi Equipment site, then check out the specs for the John Deere 450D on Deere site. They weigh the same and have the same Isuzu AH6WG 348 hp engine. Look at the cab on both machines, the engine access ladder, etc. They are the same machine. There are minor differences on the boom and stick, but both companies offer many options on those. On this model, Hitachi, no better or worse than Deere.

@evadvalcourt Yes, you are right. The Deere's hydraulic pump puts out 200 gpm while the Hitachi puts out 190 gpm. I don't know enough to say whether that would translate into faster cycle times.

I say that Hitachi machines are the best construction machines ever made. Definitely the best hydraulics and user friendly machines. Some day I would like to work on something like this one. Colosal :)
