Couldn't see much. Great sound though. I have subscribed to your channel. I also filmed Britannia on Saturday, departing euston. Please take a look and comment. If you like subscribe back. Barry
@acw71000 Thanks Austin, even when I left home I did not think I was going to be so lucky, the wind had dropped so much. You now see why I like that spot, no hiking across fields, you can just make out the roof of my car in the bottom of the shot as the headlight glints off it.....
Really great video, a really nice effect this video turned out to be! I too tried to get her in the dark, I went to Milton Keynes for the return journey although it just doesn't have the same build up and speed attached to it like yours! 5 stars :)
Excellent night shot Ralph, what a sound as the Brit climbed towards you in the dark and then the glow of the lamp on the engine front just finished it off nicely . Steve
@TheStephengthompson Thanks Steve, I arrived there later than intended, set up, switched the mic on and plugged in the head set and immediately heard her so started recording. It was over 2 minutes before she finally burst round the corner into view so I decided to cut some out. The first 20 seconds are when I started recording then I took out nearly 50 seconds before continuing. Not sure if people want just the sound rising and falling in the distance and no action.
The loudest clip I have heard of 70000 in action. If that is loud for Britannia imagine how loud Oliver Cromwell would have been from the same spot!

@Mikelandscaper Thanks Mike, however having heard both in similar circumstances I don't really think there is much difference between the two.

There's so much atmosphere about a shot in the dark and that sound ..... superb Ralph. Nice to chat again in the morning at Wardle. Chris

@khankadet Thanks Chris, That location certainly works well after dark, I think the sky is lit in the distance with the floodlights at Basford Hall.
Good to see you and Austin again.

A rare highlight! most german steam-videos of the kids have got no motive any more - mostly warm water tours.

Thats a cracker Ralph, great evening sky allowing just enough light and what a superb sound from the Brit climbing the bank.
