  • The loudest clip I have heard of 70000 in action. If that is loud for Britannia imagine how loud Oliver Cromwell would have been from the same spot!

  • @Mikelandscaper Thanks Mike, however having heard both in similar circumstances I don't really think there is much difference between the two.

  • Couldn't see much. Great sound though. I have subscribed to your channel. I also filmed Britannia on Saturday, departing euston. Please take a look and comment. If you like subscribe back. Barry

  • @bkendlerA4 Cheers Barry, It's all about the fantastic sound.

  • There's so much atmosphere about a shot in the dark and that sound ..... superb Ralph. Nice to chat again in the morning at Wardle. Chris

  • @khankadet Thanks Chris, That location certainly works well after dark, I think the sky is lit in the distance with the floodlights at Basford Hall.

Good to see you and Austin again.

  • A superbly evocative clip Ralph...superbly done...the old Brit sounds fantastic....Bob

  • @robmasterman Thanks Bob.

  • A rare highlight! most german steam-videos of the kids have got no motive any more - mostly warm water tours.

  • @hennef53 Thanks Hennef, praise from you is praise indeed.

  • Thats a cracker Ralph, great evening sky allowing just enough light and what a superb sound from the Brit climbing the bank.

  • @acw71000 Thanks Austin, even when I left home I did not think I was going to be so lucky, the wind had dropped so much. You now see why I like that spot, no hiking across fields, you can just make out the roof of my car in the bottom of the shot as the headlight glints off it.....

  • Really great video, a really nice effect this video turned out to be! I too tried to get her in the dark, I went to Milton Keynes for the return journey although it just doesn't have the same build up and speed attached to it like yours! 5 stars :)

  • @TransportManor I was very pleased with the way it turned out.

  • Aural Bliss!

  • @moose4675 Thanks, that's the effect I was hoping to get.

  • Good one Ralph

  • @howarth004 Thanks, surprising what you can get with just a bit of moonlight...

  • Tremendous sound sequences....seems noisier than 700013.

  • @Davidsonbar1 Thanks.

  • Cracking twilight shot Ralph with 70000 sounding excellent on her climb.

    Regards Phil.

  • @981smithy Thanks Phil, she certainly sounded well.

  • Excellent night shot Ralph, what a sound as the Brit climbed towards you in the dark and then the glow of the lamp on the engine front just finished it off nicely . Steve

  • @TheStephengthompson Thanks Steve, I arrived there later than intended, set up, switched the mic on and plugged in the head set and immediately heard her so started recording. It was over 2 minutes before she finally burst round the corner into view so I decided to cut some out. The first 20 seconds are when I started recording then I took out nearly 50 seconds before continuing. Not sure if people want just the sound rising and falling in the distance and no action.

  • @ralph5407

Oh, definitely, you can't have too much of that. :D

  • @AndreiTupolev I may post a full version soon since it does seem a demand for it.
