  • The gods of religions do not exist because miracles are impossible. The reason miracles are impossible is because for a miracle to happen the laws of nature must change, but the laws of nature are a part of matter and energy, which are a part of the Universe, so changing the laws of nature = changing energy and matter = changing the Universe, which is impossible. Therefore, miracles are impossible, and since the gods of religions depend on miracles, they are also impossible.

  • For all the religious who are too close minded to consider the arguements of the other side.... you have just missed something awesome.

  • He was a great man. God ( or whatever it is ) bless his soul.

  • 7:27 = win

  • this is fucking brilliant!

  • Awesome. Very good take on the 10 commandments and very good new ones.

  • official new 10 commandments! lol

  • I love how's he looks so disheveled, and how he appears to have no fucks to give.

  • My favourite commandments

5: Do not condemn people for their inborn nature (quite a personal one)

8: Turn off that fucking cellphone. (speaks for its self, my favourite)

  • He looked a tad drunk there, maybe not either way he was a champion

  • @LastNineBreaker Interpretation? Umm...no, that is the correct Hebrew translation and I'm quite sure that any Bible believing Christian or Jew would completely agree with my comment. I can see, though, how as an atheist you may not want to acknowledge this in order to keep believing in your straw man of religion. BTW anyone who takes a quick glance at my profile can find out my religion, it's not that clever.

  • number 8.

    thank you hitch

  • @youthank8 best commandment ever and it straight to the point and no way to misinterpret it.

  • the only logical reason to believe in an afterlife is so you can meet mr. hitchens there and he can continue owning religion while you have a front row seat for eternity.

  • Hitchens looks good when talking about God by hiumself. Debating Dr Craig makes him look like an idiot though.

  • @tonkrogerio NOT

  • @sideshow557 lol. have you seen the debate? He got owned.

  • @tonkrogerio I'm a fan of Hitchens but I will admit that he performed extremely weakly against WLC. In other debates he has been magnificent though, and I remain unimpressed by Craig's arguments on their own merit anyway.

  • @Smownage He kills big boys with his arguments though, mate.

  • @tonkrogerio His rhetoric destroys people, not his arguments. His shotgun-argument style is difficult to beat. Craig launches 5 arguments that are easy and quick to say, but take considerably more time to refute. While his opponent successfully responds to 2 or 3 of the arguments (because of time), Craig appears to have won because not all arguments were successfully addressed. Against Stephen Law, Craig only used 3 arguments and Law had room to discuss them and make his own arguments.

  • @Smownage William Lane Craig: The undisputed Master of the Gish Gallop.

  • Good job Mr. Hitchens.

  • The correct Hebrew translation should be: Thou shalt not MURDER, which has a slightly different meaning and implies premeditated shedding of innocent blood. It doesn't apply to soldiers at war for example, or, in the case of ancient Israel, when commanded by God to destroy a wicked generation and stop the spread of idolatry. God's commandments are not absolutes as many atheist like to claim, they apply always according to righteousness.

  • @101mythbuster Just as you said, that is only an implication and interpretation perceived by you, yourself. If what you imply would have been so; I trust it would have been elaborated to suit your meaning. So I'll take it as you picking and choosing your own definitions and interpretations. I wouldn't be surprised if you were Mormon, quite honestly.

  • 03:46 Hitchens hiding and disguising his Johnny Walker as water in a plastic bottle as seen in more interviews, speeches and debates. I miss the the guy, and I don't mean Johnny.

  • and with that, as some people are tempted to say, I REST MY CASE :-D

  • #2 of your own list is thoughtcrime is it not Hitch? A little hypocritical considering your objection to god's #10.

  • @CullTheLivingFlower fair point. but he didn't say you'll burn in hell for thinking that. it just means owning people as property is so wrong and unethical, that it shouldn't even be considered by someone with good morals...

  • Number 8 FTW!

  • wgilbert1. That's probably because those 19 people were probably switched off from the neck up in the first place!!!!

Hopefully we have many more 'Hitch's' in the pipeline. I 'coveted' his ability to debate in all arenas. Even if you didn't agree with everything he said he was always worth listening to!!!

  • RIP hitch. I miss you.

  • Hitchens is a genius...

  • 19 people didn't turn off their fucking cell phones

  • "God Bless" Christopher :) LOL !

  • "And Terrible Sexual Repressions...." LMAO.

  • My mate Dave came up with his own revised list of commandments: "Try not to be an asshole."

  • how about "try not to deep fry ALL your food".

  • #8.....Well, there goes my idea for a social networking-based religion >__>

  • neither shall ye set up image of stone in your land.....thats pretty much every graveyard on earth....fuck!

  • This is incredible....the problems he raised with the bible seem so obvious. But people who follow the bible's commandments don't realise. I think they are taught not to think !!

  • Turn that fucking phone off!

  • The Creator took this guy out the picture kind of early.

  • @mrtruthforever That's because the Creator is a asshole.

  • @TomFynn Somethings are indelible.

  • @mrtruthforever You mean inedible.

  • @TomFynn Nope. I mean indelible. And the rest of your will the correction for it.

  • George Carlin done something similar to this years ago.

  • Turn off your fucking phone

  • He himself has talked about how issuing "commandments" is despicable in and of itself. So for him to issue his own is kinda weird. But thats okay because he is awesome!

  • @Rav0n its irony mate. and yes he is awesome

  • And that's why I have a vibrating cellphone, not a tablet.

  • hide your face and weep if you dare to harm a child but do not condemn people for there inborn nature...so a contradiction yes? its ok to be a pedophile or a murderer but be ashamed?

  • @aderandie2 the keyword there is INBORN nature. A baby is not born a paedophile or a murderer.

  • Nr. 8 was the best , Turn off your fucking cell phone ....

  • Much as I respect Hitchens and find the underlying sense of his commandments appealing, it does rather stagger me that he does exactly the thing he criticised commandment #10 - the attempt to restrict though - in his commandment #2 (however honorable - and not really relevant to the commandment - it may be).

  • @Artwich very well observed dude. he did actually "command" a restriction on thought in number 2. probably meant as a "turn of phrase", but even if that's the case he contradicted himself about "being clear". oh well, all in the name of comedy :P

  • And I found my new set of rules....sorry fight club.

  • Number 8 is amazing

  • Great video.

  • "Don't swallow your moral code in tablet form." I like it!

  • so if my boss tells me to be always reachable hes leading me into sin?

  • Thats genius never thought of the chicken and the egg idea in relation god

  • And I believed this was one of the greatest men of the 20th and early 21st centuries... with his updated commandments, I can safely say that was an understatement.

  • Hitch's alternative 10 commandments should be taught to every child in every school!

  • @alan5986 ok. i agree with most claims hitchens makes but how blind are you people to just accept hitchens reality? didnt he just say "dont take your morality in pill form"? and now youre telling me you'd teach your child what ever the heck "Hitchens all mighty" says? as brilliant as he is, i'd never say his or anybodies word should be the last!

  • @alan5986 U make a good point! Why not teach every religion in school, so the kids can choose what to believe in? I would like to see that. :)

  • @alan5986 So why not start working on it, instead of hiding behind YouTube? Step out of your comfort zone; give religious people a run for their money.

  • @73geneva How is commenting on youtube hiding? Did you want me to post my address with it? I always speek openly about my thoughts, but as Hitch would say, religious people are welcome to thier toys, just dont try and make me play with them! And believe me, when I have kids they WILL learn these commandments

  • @alan5986 I am not about religion here; I'm merely buttressing a fact. Atheists claim religion is a farce, yet ninety-eight percent of them who claim to have the 'truth' do absolutely nothing about telling others what their belief. Moreoever, you don't have to wait until you have kids; why not start doing something today? Just an advise, though.

  • @73geneva Ok firstly, making up statistics to support your claim is a pretty weak move. Secondly you've missed the point of what many atheist believe. I'm not out to convert everyone, that's a religious trait, I'll speak my mind when I need to, otherwise I'm happy for people to have faith in whatever they want, it's called tolerance.

  • @alan5986 no dang it that how religion start let the people figure it out themselves rather

  • @alan5986 You mean Hitchs' drinking, lying, blocking, & more drinkin'? What a role model. Hitchen's brother Peter Hitchens, is a better role model = he got the brains instead of just the mouth.

  • so true..all you got to do is look at most graveyards. there is a standing stone set in the image of god. miss u hitch.

  • @euroman32589 Brilliant.

  • RIP The Hitch.

  • @SirGrowalott Rip? Im sure he donated his body to medical research so is probably "resting" in jam jars as im writing this? you say resting? so does that mean he still exists after death? i wonder what hitchens would think of it...

  • Idol worship is a worshiping of inanimate objects. art is not idol worship i'm not catholic; but i know that just because you kneel down before a stature dose not mean they are worshiping the art. The rest of the argument i'm not going to even listen to after his first statement.

  • @JDrosa1982 idol worship is the worship of a diety represented through an inanimate object. Now just because you made a silly error in your first sentence, should i choose not to read the rest of it? That seems a little immature to be honest. The most important part of this argument would anyways be that traditionally painting pictures of dieties like icons or painting god in the ceilings are by f.ex. jewish interpritations concidered an offence to the 1. commandment.

  • @JDrosa1982 Not listening to the rest of the argument after the first statement? Why? Oh, because you think it is incorrect because of your own ignorance. One of the differences between protestants and catholics is based on disagreement of how to observe the second and third commandments. Also the second commandment forbids making any imagery of things in heaven, or below the earth, not just worshipping. As Hitchens mentions, catholics only mention the worshipping idols part.

  • @JDrosa1982 Not listening to people like Hitchens after you think they have made a mistake, when it is your ignorance, is why you are ignorant.

  • @JDrosa1982 you know that the catholics actually pray(ed) to theyr saints right?

  • @mip93 your concernd with the wrong things. read the bible study to show yourselve approved to God. or just live your life saying its not real. the choice is yours.

  • Love number 8.

  • R.I.P. :'( your loss is just catastrophic!

  • Kind of ironic that this is VANITY fair

  • Bleeping OWNAGE!!!! grraaaaaaah!!!! Hitch Forever!!!!!

  • I'm loving number 8

  • jealous, short of temper, inconsistent--that's males in a nutshell.

of course men (males, i mean) made god. it's written all over every religion, especially the 3 monotheistic religion.

  • Hitchens proved there is a god and his name is Christopher Hitchens!

  • I totally believe in number 8!

  • #HitchCommandments. His #6 is my favourite today: Be aware that you too are an animal, dependent on the web of nature... Try and think and act accordingly. If it was someone else the title could be' Commandments without Hitches'.

  • 360p we meet again

  • Piss poor 10 commandments if you ask me.

  • @JimmyMacJones Yeah, those old ones sucked. Glad he replaced them.

  • @FALCO64125 Piss poor old ones; piss poor Hitchens alternative.

  • @JimmyMacJones Well whats wrong with them? He prohibited racism, slavery, spousal abuse, child abuse, homophobia, encouraged naturalism, #7 was kind of weird; no bull shit maybe?, theater etiquette, denounce religious fundies, and denounce any faith whose book contradicts the previous 9, such as encouraging slavery, and child/spousal abuse. Pretty solid set of commandments to me...

  • @FALCO64125 From the get go, the first commandment contradicts the 6th. For bias in favour of ones racial group is, in fact, natural. Homophobia is a BS word really. Used to demonise those that disapprove of homosexuality. I personally disapprove of homosexuality, but I can be tolerant of such deviants. Spousal and child abuse... Well, in an ideal world, none of those are desirable. But sometimes, I am afraid to say, some people, some children, deserve a good slap when they get out of line.

  • @JimmyMacJones The problem is not with his commandments. In fact you are the very reason these commandments are some much better.

  • @ASparrow1 I see. You are one of *those* people. Take care, whoever you are.

  • @JimmyMacJones I would have to disagree that favoring one's own racial group is natural. Kids have no problems interacting with other kids that would be considered of other ethnicity. What it boils down to his how those children were raised. Did they ever interact with kids of other races? How did they observe their parents treat and act around other races? Of course a kid raised in a KKK community is going to treat a black kid as second rate, doesn't mean it's natural.

  • @FALCO64125 Well, you are wrong. Pure and simple. Scientific studies have demonstrated that babies react differently to people of different races. And even if they are friendly with members of other races - after being introduced to one another by 'educated' (read brain polluted) adults - they are very much aware of these differences. Also, other tests have shown that people naturally stereotype (or 'profile') others according to race etc. Even those PC types that insist they never discriminate.

  • @JimmyMacJones Of course children are aware of that people look differently.

I also asked you about the fact that we have a tendency to trust the one´s who look in a way we are more used to is a good reason to dwell in your own ignorance and prejudices instead of trying to treat people as individuals and not as a race.

  • @JimmyMacJones Hitchen's suggestion for commandment #1 is to not condemn people based on ethnicity of color. I haven't kept up on what various studies have shown what the natural response to people of other ethnicity might be, but I doubt any of them show a natural condemnation of other skin colors. Of course we see the difference, we see differences within our own ethnicity. But to treat a stranger with hatred and condemn them solely because of what they look like is not naturally human.

  • @FALCO64125 Other races. Stop trivialising the issue by fallaciously claiming that the only difference is skin colour. Until that point, we cannot have a serious discussion on this extremely important issue. Take care.

  • @JimmyMacJones So everyone who are white are in a certain way and everyone who have brown skin are in a certain way? And we aren´t individuals? Why didn´t god not give us a choice to be individuals? Do we then have a choice about anything at all?

  • @katnils People of different races certainly have different physical and mental traits, different cognitive and physical abilities, temperament, etc. As for individualism... I would consider myself to be quite the eccentric, quite individualistic if you like. Far more than your average person (especially those wannabes that *claim* they are individuals). But one must recognise ones place in the *whole* racial community. One must strive for the survival, expansion and advancement of ones people.

  • @JimmyMacJones If you are also white how come you and me are so different?

  • @katnils We aren't really. I have debated people like you before. You have racial feelings also, but you suppress them. Everybody has racial feelings. You are in denial, as they say.

  • @JimmyMacJones I have no "racial" feelings at all about anyone adopted for example. I have some "cultural feelings", not racial, for people from other cultures I don´t know that much about or from cultures I despise before I know a person and know how to feel about that individual. I would rather call it a cultural thing to in some aspects be more inclined to prejudge someone from another culture before you know that person. Not at all a racial thing.

  • @katnils See, due to the conditioning (or brain pollution as I call it) via the education system, you confuse the word 'racial' with an unreasonable fear and intense hatred for other people. Not so. For example, although I am a racially conscious person, I have never had anything but good relations with people from other races. But I still recognise the differences and I still feel as natural urge to work in the best interests of White people. I am biased in favour of White people.

  • @JimmyMacJones In a sane world, you would appreciate having such a person as myself supporting you in whatever endeavours you pursue, even though I am living all the way over here in England. :)

  • @JimmyMacJones I don´t think so. I think it´s very interesting with people from other cultures, as long as they aren´t Islamofascists, and have absolutely no problem with any mixes of races. If the cultures don´t collide. It also minimizes the risks for genetic diseases. And the children are very cute.

  • @katnils You are regurgitating the 'multicultural' line of how 'interesting' it is to have 'diversity' and how 'boring' it would be without it. Nonsense of course. I have honestly heard that line come from the mouths of people whose social group consists entirely of White people. They are just towing the line of course. As for miscegenated child being cute... please! No children are more 'cute' (beautiful) than wonderful White children.

  • @JimmyMacJones many children are cute. That isn´t so much the point as the point that people should have the right to have children with whoever they want to.

  • @katnils Yes, as long as it isn't in the same breeding space as those with healthy instincts - i.e. those that want to remain uncontaminated by the horrors of miscegenation.

  • @JimmyMacJones Since you are very few who have these feelings about not mixing races I suggest you work for your own state; Aria, where you can have the white race "uncontaminated" and don´t try to impose your opinions as rules on everyone else. Who want to be able to have children with whoever they choose.

  • @katnils As I keep saying - and I will reiterate - all people have racial feelings. It isn't just people 'like me'. All other races have such feelings/thoughts and they will act accordingly. As I keep saying to you poor deluded fools... give in... give in to your cravings! You know that there is a voice deep inside of you, crying out, that supports the preservation of White people. Embrace that voice - let the fire burn and unleash it upon the world to rage like an inferno! You know you want to.

  • @JimmyMacJones No. I don´t feel any of that. Not the least bit. I just feel that we of course should have the right to have children with whoever we want to.

  • @katnils I disagree. And if you think about it, you know that your statement is crazy. Should a person - in your considered opinion - be aloud to have children with a person with Downes Syndrome? I believe that one should have the 'freedom' (for want of a better word) to have children with a select group of people, i.e. amongst ones own race.

  • @JimmyMacJones The very difficult question to me is if someone with Down´s syndrome should be allowed to give birth to a child with Down´s syndrome since that can be difficult enough for normally intelligent parents. And without having given it firther thought my spontaneous opinion is that I don´t think they should be allowed to that. It isn´t fair to anyone.

  • @JimmyMacJones The women with Down´s syndrome can get children but have a lower fertility and half of the children would get Down´s syndrome if there wouldn´t be done any preimplantation genetic diagnosis or amniocentesis. And they have difficult pregnancies and labours so it isn´t exactly an easy choice for any woman with Down´s syndrome to have children or for anyone to have children with a woman with Down´s syndrome. So don´t you worry. It will hardly be a trend.

  • @JimmyMacJones Wikipedia:

"There is infertility among both males and females with Down syndrome; males are usually unable to father children, while females demonstrate significantly lower rates of conception relative to unaffected individuals.[citation needed] Women with DS are less fertile and often have difficulties with miscarriage, premature birth, and difficult labor.

    continued

  • @JimmyMacJones continued Wikipedia:

Without preimplantation genetic diagnosis, approximately half of the offspring of someone with Down syndrome also have the syndrome themselves.[71] Men with DS are almost uniformly infertile, exhibiting defects in spermatogenesis.[72] There have been only three recorded instances of males with Down syndrome fathering children.[73][74]"

  • @JimmyMacJones ---"I believe that one should have the 'freedom' (for want of a better word) to have children with a select group of people, i.e. amongst ones own race. "

And I believe humans are capable of making their own choices about whom to have children with within the human species without your "help". I don´t believe in fascism.

  • @katnils You clearly thought long and hard about this one point, concluding that you agree with me on my point. But you still have an overall irresponsible position. That is unfortunate. It demonstrates that you do not care about the advancement of the species. Such are the trappings of civilisation that humanity can only decline under such conditions.

  • @JimmyMacJones I did NOT think long about that one. I answered the same moment I read it.

DIVERSITY has always been important and is something that increases the chances for a species survival tremendously whenever it is threatened by for ex. changing climate. And it´s important to a species with the selection that is made through a selection of partners BY ALL INDIVIDUALS over a long period of time. Whatever your desires are is not what has been helpful for any species survival.

  • @JimmyMacJones Hitler and other fascists, including you, had/have a totally pseudo scientific understanding of what is important to the human species. Besides that you spit on individual freedom.

I also answered this one the moment I read it. So you also don´t need to make up that I thought a long time about this one.

  • @JimmyMacJones Whatever traits that at some point in history will become important for a species survival is just not predictable by you or anyone else. And whatever traits that never at any point of time becomes important in increasing individuals chance of survival and in getting surviving offsprings will also never spread to a whole population. You simply don´t have a clue what you talk about since you prefer to get your information from pseudo scientific propaganda.

  • @katnils Your reply's are so long that it takes forever to find what your replying to,and what your points are. Just saying..Also what does this tangent have to do with the ten commandments anyway. Lastly what are your chances off convincing a bigot that his justification for bigotry is totally wrong, when its foundations are cast in fear and hate. The only thing remedy for it, is unconditional love coming from a black or other race. For everyone else your preaching to the choir.

  • @SirThomasChannel It has nothing to do with the ten commandments. It wasn´t me who started to write about race biology, slapping children and homophobia. I am replying to someone else´s comments as you can see and you don´t need to care about it.

  • @JimmyMacJones Ha, and to think I tried to have a rational conversation with you...

  • @FALCO64125 Hey, see my comments here - wow! I spent too much time going back and forth with 'katnils'. We certainly covered a lot of ground. Though I say so myself, I don't think I did too bad a job of putting my argument across. Take care.

  • @JimmyMacJones I see your comments. Looks like you're trying to convince people to go back to a backwards way of thinking. The kind of thinking that lead white people into thinking it was OK to enslave abducted black Africans and their ancestors for 100's of years. Skin color, race, ethnicity, etc, are not traits that determine who a person is or will be. "The circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant; it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are. "

  • @FALCO64125 Far from backward. My thinking is far more progressive than anything you have in mind. I believe in the survival, expansion and advancement of the species, always reaching new heights of evolution. The age of the Superman as it were. This thinking of mine does not involve enslaving other races, for that is undesirable.

  • @FALCO64125 People like myself strive for a homogeneous society of healthy White people, living in, and promoting a eugenic White society. This means that I believe we should take particular care in not only assuring the perpetuation of our precious White Race, but we take deliberate care that the misfits are culled and that each generation advances to higher and more salubrious levels, physically, aesthetically, and mentally. Race is everything.

  • @JimmyMacJones In another post you made @katnils, you said "It demonstrates that you do not care about the advancement of the species." In this post you say "Race is everything". Well the human species includes ALL races. Every man in the world has the potential of creating fertile offspring with any woman in the world, that's why we're considered a single species. So which is it you want to develop? Race, as only defined by previous less educated generations, or species?

  • @FALCO64125 I am sure I have already dealt with this. As with all species, there are subspecies. Race is a term used (loosely) to describe each subspecies of man. Yes, they are able to procreate with one another, but in doing so, the unique traits of each race (and the White race especially) are destroyed. Same with the different subspecies of bear. Polar bears could breed with Brown bears, but the offspring would be unsuited to the arctic climate. Please check out this link: watch?v=1eHUcVYBCZo

  • @JimmyMacJones There are genetic variations that have become prevalent in people from different isolated regions. Darker skin was most advantageous in the hot climate of Africa; fair skin more so in the higher latitudes where there is less sun exposure, etc. For tens of thousands of years it took generations of people to migrate a distance we drive in 10 hours, hence the pronounced traits of those regions. Your position on race is simply scientifically and ethically wrong.

  • @JimmyMacJones And comparing different bear subspecies to humans is beyond ridiculous. Polar and Brown bears usually breed with other Polar or Brown bears because their habitats generally do not intersect. And when they do encounter eachother sometimes a hybrid is birthed. And yes, the hybrid would not be as adapted to an arctic climate as a polar bear. Thankfully, humans don't have that problem do they! We use tools, we wear clothes, we build shelters! WE ARE NOT BEARS.

  • @FALCO64125 mewtwo fucking rules

  • @deraickripper I know right? :) I would have credited the movie but I ran out of characters.

  • @JimmyMacJones So what is the revolution that is needeed?

  • @katnils A White Revolution of course.

  • @JimmyMacJones How would that revolution be done?

  • @katnils Change peoples minds; regain power... you know.

  • @JimmyMacJones Yes but how would you regain power? Who would take the power (everyone who share your opinions?) and how?

  • @katnils Well I would certainly hope that those sharing my views take power. First one must think straight before one does anything. Propaganda and then... who knows how things will turn out. :)

  • @JimmyMacJones Do you dislike democracy?

  • @katnils Did you check out the video I linked to you?

  • @JimmyMacJones ----"I am biased in favour of White people."

And I am biased in favour of democracy, freedom and equality.

  • @katnils Well, you are biased in favour of fantasy... which is ironic for an atheist. :)

  • @JimmyMacJones And you also didn´t answer why your god then supposedly didn´t give people a choice about being individuals but just being a race.
