whether christianity is a culture or not is not my concern. but bathou religion for bodos is not only a religion but also a way of life. it marks who we are and where we came from. you are right that christianity encompasses diverse cultures. but sadly, bodos who converted into christianity forget that they were once animists and deny the existence of bodo deities whom their forefathers worshipped. if this is not self-destruction of one's own culture, i dont know what is.

Bodos (also known as kachari) from Assam , India are Kirats too. Bodos in their ancient years used to pray their forefathers. But due to encroachment by Aryan they have been influenced and sanskritized into Hinduism.The Bodo language is of Tibeto-Burmese family which adheres again to Kirat. And yes definitely Kirats-Bodo are demanding freedom from Indian rule. That's why Kirats-Bodo militants kill 8 Indian soldiers who opposed them. Unite Kirat.

as for religion and culture, both are intertwined with each other, specially in case of a minority group like the bodos. bathou religion of the bodos along with its unique language and dress are the few markers that identify bodos as a unique tribe. you can follow my channel- nijwmzen29 to watch a couple of bodo traditional dances.

i don't have any problem with the video posted by hsiom but it definitely is not the original bodo worship dance, which is kherai dance. it is more of a christian devotional songs to which the dancers are moving to some bodo dance steps.there are several dance forms of the bodos, including devotional ones.

I feel so much pain to see Christianity steal others identity and culture. If they feel so much for these people why can they not help them without any self interest. They should be left alone. This sort of action should be condemned by all. If someone embraces it by his or her own choice then I would not have any problem whatsoever. This is a clear case of coercion in different form. First of all 'Heart sounds' organisation is christian centric and has no desire to promote the traditional and non-christian form of worship.Bodo people and culture existed before the missionaries came to india.The true songs of worship of Bodo tribe are the 'Kherai'prayer and dance and song.

It would have been more fun if it was a dance to traditonal instruments like 'Khaam' (the cylindrical Bodo drum), Sifoong (the bamboo flute), thorkha (bamboo instrument split right through the middle) and 'Serja' (Bodo violin). These instruments are used for performing Kherai, an original ritual dance. Anyway, good work!

Why do u hve to put all the blame to christian of a vast changing culture?? I have met thousand of Hindus in London, does not , in any way look different from an Europian. God Himself must be the cornerstone of this His own religion.
