Everyone whining about the power when this car weighs scarcely more than a MINI. You don't need any more from the factory in such a light car, especially a car designed for balance and poise rather than just burnouts.
"the engine was co-developed with Subaru?" Toyota essentially just put their badge on a different shell of the Subaru BRZ. It's a Subaru car, not a Toyota one... they just ponied up the bulk of the money.
I'd rather get the Subaru version when it hits...cant see myself ever getting a Scion badge and I really dont think the look of this stands out that much...sure its nice but even the gauges looks like typical cheap toyota plastic now...
Pretty nice! If the wheels/tires look on the small side. And a turbo version would be nice for the straightaways. But I am really nitpicking here--it sounds like a real drivers car.
@avro206 They are a bit small. It's all because the FR-S is designed to be a low cost sports car. It doesn't even come with high performance summer tires.
I do like the front and somewhat from the side, but the tail isn't doing it for me. Looks like it should be a big hit with the teenage and early 20's guys. Pricing should go down within a few years due to economy coming back up from the tsunami, or at least it should because if it goes up much more you can get the wrx or ralliart for basically the same price. Still, good car!
@RUFFSTUFF138 I actually think this car should be cheaper with additional options to get it to $25K. At $25K it is in danger of going up against the Gen Coupe which has more amenities.
@jvrdlc Yeah under 30k for a 200hp scion... Whats wrong with that? its going to be priced under the Subaru version which is 24k...so expect around 20k.
@jvrdlc Don't look at power alone, look at the weight of the car. It is fairly light, so 200 hp feels alike more than enough. And it's always more fun to drive a slow car fast than to drive a fast car slow.
they used loops from garage band for the intro...

Those headlights on the GT-86 model better be an HID headlight option on the FR-S.
