I've set up this rest for a few of my customers against my warnings they wanted it anyway. 4 of the 5 I have set up returned the rest because it broke in the store while they tested it and tried to tune it. The other customer gave up and grabbed a QAD because this rest was a pain to set up.
that nap quicktune flipper is a POS. when you creep the arrow it falls down and you have to reset the arrow. very quiet though. but from what i hear the new freedom doesnt fall down
The Quick Tune Freedom rest Is a peice of crap .Dont buy does not work right at all ..... I resently bought the RIP CORD RED for my mathews bow the best on the market today..
i use a tm hunter rest and only used one spring and turned it into a cheap 12 dollar drop away rest which i have used now for the past 4 years and only thing i have had to replace is the string that attaches to my cables.i have had ZERO failures and took 78 deer with the rest.i dont see paying 50-125 bucks for a over priced drop away rest.if you decide to go that route i can say use thread loc on the screws once you have it set.its cheap and dependable.
two styles to choose from at the same price, peice of crap the NAP FLIPPER DROP AWAY ARROW REST, and the NAP FREEDOM DROP AWAY ARROW REST. if you want one get the freedom stay i repeat stay away from the flipper drop away. its like a prototype to the freedom, dont know why its on the market. I guess NAP is just trying to get as much money from this style of rest as it can get. probably trying to make up for the cost of creating this rest.
Flipper was the model released one year prior to the Freedom. Hasn't been offered from NAP for years. The Freedom is really a good rest with lots of happy customers. That being said, there are only a few ways I know of to break the head of the rest. Having a bow with severe nock travel, drawlength too long (which causes the head of the rest to rock forward close enough to the let down mech. which in turn causes the rest to stay up when it should fall) or creeping.
ok folks a follow up the arrow rest that you can find at Kittery Trading Post isnt the displayed arrow rest, they display a quicktune drop away rest but its actually the quicktune flipper drop away arrow rest. and it worh about the $15 price tag. it is a cheap prototype to the drop away arrow rest. it dosnt allow for let down and it look flimsy. just wanted to worn any one that read my first review. make sure of what you get online. it works for now but I want keep it long.
I found a cheeper model made by NAP its called the freedom drop away rest . I ordered one from kittery tradeing post for $15. dont know how good it works yet because I just ordered it. I've read some bad revues about this rest .like it breaking in only a few shots. so I dont know if its true or not. Ive seen the qucktune flipper use by hunters on tv and they have never mentioned them so they may not be sponsered for useing these rest. but I will write a revue when I get mine.
I got this rest on my bowtech 82nd airborne and it worked fine shooting inseide but then snapped when i toke it outside and shot. contacted nap and they sent me a new one n a couple days just got done shootin it bout 50 or 60 times today and it was great. BTW nap has the best costumer service ever in my opinion
I just wanted to let everyone know that the Flipper rest has been replaced by the much better QuikTune FREEDOM rest. This rest stays up when you need to let your bow down. It only shoots when you pull the trigger. Also, the rest has urethane friction rings that are whisper quiet and durable.

that rest falls because of the vibration of the bow or string, this is not a very good design in my opinion. What if when your drawing back and you accidently wiggle a little bit or something or you need to reclip on your release? the rest will go down regardless. If your doing 3d or target shooting then it might be a better choice rather than hunting.
@blorchdude4 i was at a 3d shoot, and this guy had a kinetic energy fall away rest just like this rest, and he showed me how it was used, and without an arrow on the rest, he clipped on his release to the string, pulled it back about an inch or 2 and let go and the rest went down.
