this is not the problem of mallus only. you cannot say that mallus are like this. May be this happened there and similar things might be happening. Do you think, the other states in India have much standard? Every where these things can happen. Even outside India, funny things like this happen but may be in different way. But I am pretty much sure that, mallus are much better than any other Indian states. I bet. :) . I guess this video a little bit exaggerated.

Hi, I have to agree with you at least partially, I am a mallu myself, but as you said, as a society we need to move ahead, rather than live like frogs in a well. That is a sign of civilization or education. Just have degrees or post-graduate degrees would not do much help. Some need education in how to carry oneself. Most are ignorant about the rest of the world. Even when they go abroad for work, their attitudes still remain the same and the whole psyche could be a subject for some social study
