  • Kim OWNS this, sorry Smokey.

  • Kim looks alot like Paul McCartneys wife Linda. I wonder if Paul ever noticed ;)

  • one of my favorite covers, incredibly sexy.

  • great singer just like smokey robinson.i love this song and will never get tired of it. GREAT!!!!!!

  • i've always liked this song, the drummer was amazing, what a performance, though he probably should have saved something for the end of the song, midway into the song he already shows signs of a huge migraine setting in.

great to watch, both kim & drummer man.

  • I love this song! One of my fave 80's tunes.

  • I remember my friend Michael X and I standing by the jukebox on a Friday night at The International Stud in the West Village and just singing along with Kim. Great arrangement, which is what made Bette Davis Eyes great, too. Bill Cuomo is the keyboard guy. And that's her husband Dave Ellingson with the excellent backup singers.

  • She did an awesome job on this song.

  • was the intro to this used in survivor by destineys child...

  • I love this song. Her voice is so unique and the music is so smooth.

  • I love her!!! Great song!

  • My favorite version, sorry Smokey.

  • @eddieg671 I have to agree.

  • Wow a rock-disco song from Kim Carnes, she's a hell of an artist !! please make more records, Ms Carnes !!

  • Oh man! Real live synthesizers! Now it's all digital and sampled...not complaining, much more sounds to choose from and you don't need to be a techno whiz to get around!

Love this song, I rarely ever say this about covers, but I like this every bit as much as Smokie's!

  • love.....her

  • I stay with the two versions, both are WAYYY different (Smokey's are kinda sweeter) and yes, Kim's voice was always taken by mistake with Rod Stewart's. Loved this version of course, and the duo she made with Kenny Rogers was great too. After Bette Davis Eyes (Mistaken Identity was more like a rock album) Carnes followed a more rock-daring line with Draw of The Cards and Voyeur, they're not my taste but I also think this neither miscredits her talent.

  • this song put you in a pleasure trip that you don´t wanna go down.

  • Who is this Drummer? Anybody?

I suspect JR Robinson but not sure.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Craig Krampf (drummer)

  • "More love; more joy--than age or time could ever destroy. My love will be so sound--take a 100 lifetimes to live it down..." Man...I hope I get to say that to a woman someday :)

  • one year after this Kim would be wearing her 'bettie davis eyes' era tuxedo and boots

  • Thanks for that. The last time I saw this video was in 1980 in a New Jersey shop window.

  • This blows away Bette Davis Eyes. Every time I hear this song I get goose bumps. Her husky voice is so perfect for this song and the beat...and the sax player BLOWS!! Awesome song!!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!Kim Carnes' voice is and body are unbelievable. You should see her.

  • Awesome performance.

  • Great song!!!! Great performance!!!! Smokey's version is very good but Kim's version has alot more energy!!! This performance is outstanding!!!!

    Thanks for the post.

  • Does anyone know if she still performs?

  • Yeah! Kim Carnes still writes, sings and performs! She lives in Nashville, TN. Inside information about her career, visit her brazilian fan club website!

  • Underrated song.

  • Even better than Bette Davis Eyes.

  • Better than even Bette Davis Eyes.

  • That sax player on her left is scary looking

  • I love this version from Kim, Smokey has a good version but Kim's is a bit bit better. I use to play this CD at singles dances. Everyone got up and danced to this, they all loved it. You are awesome Kim.

  • kim took my breath away then and now

  • Wow, what an awesome voice! This was and still is a great song to listen to over and over and over again.

Thanks for the post. Great memories, great times.

  • i remember smokey singin this song back then n im glad im not d only 1 cuz he sanged it good but kim sanged it unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love her voice

  • The drummer has more neck movement then Ron Goldman ever had.... Keep the shades next time Ron.

  • I listened to this song over and over again in the 1980's. I loved it! I know Kim's

signature song is Bette Davis Eyes but this

    song was (is) so great!

  • Bravo!

  • Her voice is just so on point and this version of "More Love" blows Smokey's out of the water (Sorry, Smoke.)

  • Unbelievable women, strong but never vulgar !

Each one of your songs is a present to our ears. Thank you from France !

  • Thank you so much for giving us such rare clips. Fantastical Kim ! How could we forget her ? Kim is a mix of smart lady, rap voice, childhood innocence, awasome "Andersen's princess" who suddenly becomes a rock star...

  • Thank you so much for spreading this rare videoclip on the net ! So many people believe Kim had just sung "Bette Davis Eyes".... although she created so various and superb other melodies. What a pity ! It's a tresure !

She's so much inspired and gives to us such a beautifull voice. And her appearance is so fantastic, unic I should say. Kim is a very great lady. Thank from France !

  • This is the most incredible love song ever written, and in this case performed. I cannot believe how perfect this composition and performance is. It comes from another place and time????? :)

  • "More Love" was composed by Smokey Robinson and it was recorded by Smokey Robinson & The Miracles in 1967. It was moderate hit. Kim Carnes' version peaked #10 at Billboard charts in 1980 ("Romance Dance" album).

  • @midnightspecial1980 I can't believe that's only as far as it'd gotten. It should've been number 2 but I imagine Blondie and Paul McCartney had that top feet when this was big. "Bette Davis Eyes" would give Kim her first chart topping hit the next summer.

  • @4ever4thelight I remember I could not get enough of listening to this after I first heard it in the early 80's. I want to play this as one of my songs at my wedding.

  • @auntstacey123 You first heard this 30 years ago and you still haven't had a wedding??

  • We love you, Kim!

    Thanks for the memories.

  • This has got to be one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Also, the performance by all in the band with Kim is electrifying. You can tell that they like the song as much as we do. :)

  • ty great video

  • Yeah Way to go Joe!

  • I love this song! brings back awsome memories!

  • You can tell she loved to be doing this performance: Look at her face as the song ends. No wonder it is such a great song. She makes it so.

  • Motown remakes can really suck. But this one was great.

  • I freaking love this song!!!!
