DM's last entirely good LP was Sofad. Since Alan's departure they all know something is missing and have been trying to recapture the magic since 1995. I am proud they keep plugging away. But need to write better songs and use less "help" trust themselves. Fans need to stop just being droids abut we wont cause we love them

Alan is an incrediable artist/musician...The last Recoil lp was ok but that's only my opinion and like assholes we all have them and they all stink!

@wilderlove I 10000% agree. Alan WAS Depeche Mode's sound. Staggering the difference his departure made. What a shame... I loved Bloodline and Unsound Methods... but I've gotta say, lately his guest vocalists don't fit my bill...

Boring to me, sorry.. even whe I like the amount of art Alan has done for Depeche Mode..but really stupid to prove on this "song" that he's missed, unreplacable and other b**its. Sorry.... Estoy de acuerdo contigo, también soy superfan de Depeche Mode (de hecho tengo tatuada la rosa de la portada del Violator en mi pie izquierdo), pero en verdad se están perdiendo a un gran músico, al igual que sigo a Alan (que personalmente para mí es un Dios), también he seguido las carreras en solitario del resto de los componentes de Depeche. Most recent DM albums are okay, and I like them, but their concerts seem to be "The David Gahan´s band show" instead the real Depeche Mode, they even have to replace Alan with 2 extra guys because Fletch is not good enough. Alan defined the DM´s live sound.

Jesus did you just hit the nail right on the head there. I completely agree. Though, Guilty Guilty Guilty was a step up for her after her work being (essentially) steadily underwhelming since, what, 1994? Still, other than Interlude (Time), it wasn't that great.

I noticed that as well. Alan contributed so much musical brawn to DM. But I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they're stuff sounds just as good with Andrew Phillpott, not necessarily better. This is why I'm glad I can still have the best of both worlds and I want to see Alan continue to make music, because it has a presence few musical projects have.

Recoil was a project that Alan Wilder did when he started moving away from Depeche Mode in 1992. His music is definitive DM with more of an experimental edge. Edge To Life is the best track, IMO
