Very good use of shifting/angles. I think that such shifts are implied in the kata, but are often overlooked because the kata itself is performed in a strictly linear fashion.
ładny pokaz, dobrze zrobiony filmik, tyle, że to nie są te ruchy..., very creative - tak to jest dobre określenie dla tej interpretacji,a jak dla mnie to nadinterpretacji;p...
These particular bunkai ( there is no "s" ) is quite silly, because it is done using free sparring techniques and stances. Tekki was designed for close up face to face combat and the wide stances were not used. The originators intended this as a lesson in very close ( in your face ) self defense. See Seiyu Oyata's version ), or Vince Morris' version. They are not silly.
Well, there might be some truth to it - unlike you I'm not so open minded that a bowling ball could fall thru my head. Because frankly, that's the level of naivete needed to believe that naihanchi teaches you techniques for fighting on the ground.
For groundfighting, you need a special set of skills - not some nonsense techniques you supposedly "found" in an ancient kata, which you don't understand at all and which is distorted beyond recognition anyway.
if you search Oyata seminars on YT youll see other ways of doing technique like this in Ryukyu Kempo

Kata bunkai for tekki are not done against oi zuki or against people attacking in zenkutsudachi....

Nice demonstration, but where is the tekki shodan? The kata is hardly recognizable in this any more.
If this is original bunkai, shouldn´t the kata look very differently?

mmmmm..that will work....the next time someone attackes you with a stepping punch and then freezes while you do your counter !!!

I think they just made these bunkai up as they performed them. This is silly!

The thing is that 99% of "bunkais" are silly. The problem is that nobody cares...

Its quite worrying that blackbelts would actually practice these bunkai

Naihanchi can be done on your back. Its a kata for the ground too. The Okinawans would laugh at these guys.
roningb 3 years ago
lol sure. I guess you can also do Naihanchi hanging by your dick from the ceiling?
CarNikolaj 2 years ago
And from that comment it sounds like your karate comes out your ass!!!!!! You are so narrow minded.

Nicer presentation bu the block-punch applications shown here don't fit the kata.
Naihanchin is a grappling kata.

These application are O.K., but the ones you are talking abourt are much better.
I have never understood why someone would attack some one with one hand down.
