  • From loving David Soul !! To 20 plus years of being a manic Fan of Bruce naming all my pets after the E Street Band :)Roll on 5 concerts this year

  • I sing you even though only the second voice Marketa.cz

  • I love you all my life,Marketa.cz.

  • Anyone know what kind of acoustic he is playing? Any help is appreciated!

  • Sorry, but its one of the worst set of lyrics and subject matter chosen by a true tunesmith. What next, queen of the tickettaker on the nj turnpike? The band can't be taking this seriously, not after playing Born To Run for 35 years. Feel free to insert your own lyrics. By the way, THERE IS VIDEO OF ANYTHING THAT COMES CLOSE TO LOOKING LIKE A SUPERMARKET IN THE WHOLE FREAKIN VIDEO.

  • @bkhistoryguy . Some people may not know this but music videos came after the fact that an artist wrote a piece of music. Do you think musicians make a video and sing a song about it?

  • definitely the greatest use of the f bomb

  • Going 2 see him 2moz...jealous much?

  • seen him last tuesday

  • did u enjoy it?

  • Worked with him last summer... "jealous much?" lol

  • Aw, I love his face when he tells Roy how to play: "Ba ba ba... Ba!" xD

  • Can someone help me solve an argument... On 5:11 who sings the "I'm in love with the queen of the supermarket" vocals... Steve, Patti or Bruce?!?!?!?

  • I don't know.. but I think it's Patti...

  • That was probably someone completely different. If not then it was probably Soozie.

  • I know who is the owner of that voice I found out it when Bruce played it live in Sweden! is the woman from the background vocals I don't know her name but search for the video you'll see who is !

PS it's not patty or Soozie!

  • Her name is Cindi.

  • It's Cindy Mizelle.

  • Patti im guessing

  • every time BRUCE has good enterce for all his songs that is stuck to his songs

  • About a minute and a half in they're playing with magic right there, the classic Springsteen sound!

  • Yes, I work in a supermarket there at 6.00 pm. See it all, micro dinners for one. This song is pure poetry. Maybe jburns, but that is life now. At least when I leave my job, I can cuddle the man I love, there's loads that cant, take care

  • The supermarket is indeed a dynamic place. its a carnival without the rides....think about it. the strongman samson, strolls each midway. sensors go into overdrive.

  • About Roy Orbison sound. Show me any artist who was not influenced or inspired by others. Even Roy was. What bruce wants to imitate if any in this song is not important at all. Just seat back and try to connect or just relax and the song will take you into the f reality! That is reality!

  • The song is great! If you want to limit the art what is the point. And i f bomb in the end, come on don't you understand bruce is sings about the guy in love who want to get one he loves - when you are so happy or very frustrated you can use f bomb to show how strong is the feeling and this is used greeeeeaaat in this song. Take a rest a while and think you will get he point! True art! Forget what is wrong and right in love. Get the point already!

  • yeees

  • I saw Roy Orbison in 1965 here in UK, forgive me but this sounds nothing like RB, have you seen the video of RB and Bruce? Please dont say Bruce nicked RB's stuff, does this sound like Pretty Woman?

  • Like I said this is Bruce trying to reach for Roy's unreachable falsetto. He failed. Bruce is Bruce and has no peer but did have a deep admiration for Roy. Read the liner notes he wrote for a RO Greatest Hits from around 1989 and you'll understand. I think the story in this song is more Orbison than anything Bruce has written before.... Boy meets girl and finally connects with a smile from her. It's the Only the Lonely character finally catching a break.

  • I just bought this record today.

I love this song. Beautiful and powerful at the same time. I hear a little "Walk Away Renee" in this tune. There seems to be some "Good Vibrations" Carol Kaye and the Wrecking Crew influence in some of the intros and transition pieces. I also hear some Gordon Lightfoot influence and dare I say Anne Murray's "Snowbird." Classic pop music that delivers you to a magical emotional place.

    Rock on!

  • Where you get Walk Away Renee, and Good Vibrations and Snowbirdfrom? get your ears tested, this is pure Bruce. So you like it? If we wanted to pull music apart, we could go back to Gregorian Chants, I am sure the Monks added to our music of today

  • It finally hit me.... Bruce has always wanted to sing like Roy Orbison. This may be as close as he'll come. This one has grown on me. I see the guy in the song as one his aging characters.... maybe the guy in Stolen Car who has grown old and is alone or the guy from The River who lost Mary and the Queen of the Supermarket is the best he can do now. A pitiable character indeed.

  • don't we all have the poor shmuck in us , R. O. most of all

  • We are all so fortunate to have been born when we were to enjoy Bruce's music...

  • don't give up hope sallyann there is talk of another date or two in london and/or manchester . he brightens my world , lucky to live in these times

  • Thanks for sharing, what a masterpiece! Love it!

  • I work in supermarket here in the UK,this video was awsome, seeing Bruce and his band at work .....shame I cant get tickets for his UK show in June. Real fans cant get them, that would have been my seventh concert...Anyway thanks for posting this, Sally-Ann
