  • wow that was great

  • woow i loved iit...:D

  • Really pretty! How long did it take for you to play like that? :D

  • Very nice !!! You sounds perfect, but as an advice (from an other violin player !) Hold your violin Straight ! Keep on playing, you're doing good job ! =) <3

  • Do you have the notes for the duet part

  • Really really really really good!!

  • Wow it sounded beautiful! Hope you make more videos like these!

  • Congratulations, you went well, a question, you could give me the score of the second violin, is that I seek and never find it. My email is kusakabe_kei_x_x@msn.com

Thanks if you can send it to me ñ.ñ

  • Would you put the sheet music of the second voice in the description? Please!!!!!!!

I'm having a recital at school and i really want to play it (sorry for my english)

  • ok i suscribe to your canal to see all your videos, i know you'll do well! :)

  • Caaboo comigoo ! Ela eh mto mto Boa Parabeens ! (:

  • @mauro64100 Unfortunately I don't speak your language but thank you for watching and commenting! If anyone could translate it into english, I'd appreciate it. :)

  • @iiswansongii Translation from portuguese:

You just owned me! She´s very very good. Congratulations!

From my side: it´s the first time I hear the duet version of this music. My teacher just gave me yesterday the second part to learn. You have done really good. Maybe if you slowed a little bit would be more clear to hear. Nice.

  • @iiswansongii roughly it says you did a very very good job i don't speak fluent portugese but that's the best translation i could come up with between my knowledge and several translators but it was really good

  • your soo good!

  • @Joykie07 I appreciate that. Thanks for commenting and watching!

  • 4 yrs ago at 45 I started the piano...this was one I played. Good for you...to have the drive, the determination, the creativity to share this! I love the piano and maybe you'll have another piece I'm doing as well. thanks and best of luck.

  • @bakilacat Best of luck to you and your piano playing as well. Thanks for commenting and watching!

  • Thank you :) I apprieciate that :) Have a great day!

  • Wow thank you very much :) I'm amazed this 2 years later that my video is still being found and watched :) I appreciate that you watched and commented :)

  • I appreciate your comment. Thank you very much :) Have a great day!

  • BRAVO!! VERY GOOD!!

  • @soccerwin55 thanks! I appreciate your enthusiasm. It's not a perfect performance but i'm happy with it.

  • you and you are amazing! ieowieowipowiewoi

  • @JessBrasil29 Haha 'we' thank you very much :)

  • you been praticing a long time

  • @dadygirly4 Not too long. Now I usually just play for fun and when i have time. This video was an experiment that turned out okay i think. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • I enjoyed listening to it! ^^ I'm also playing this piece right now. By the way, that's a pretty creative idea you've got, the duet.

  • This video took a couple of hours to make but it's my most viewed so I must have done something right :) I appreciate that you took the time to watch my video. It is a fun song to play isn't it? Have a great day!

  • Just viewed your video. A great idea. I enjoyed it very much. Please continue.

  • I have been intending to make more of these. The main reason I haven't is because this has to be my favorite duet out of all the suzuki music books. I will make more though in the next couple months actually i'm planning. Have a great day! Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • I`m sorry but i don't like it... =/ i

  • That's okay. I know it isn't the most perfect performance. I do appreciaite however that you simply stated your opinion in a non-hurtful way. Some of the comments that people have left when they didn't like my video get ridiculous. Thank you for atching at least giving it a chance :)

  • great love it i played almost a year and i played with pros i play this this song with my friend at school and he plays the other part and all the girls are like show offs

  • Thank you :) It is a really fun song to play. Well, I guess it's best to feel sorry for people who need to show off. It sometimes shows a lack of confidence. Thanks for commenting and watching!

  • my violin teacher said it would be better if it was a tad slower!!!!lol

  • I've been told that before actually :) I think I just like the song fast and it's more fun to play any song faster. Sounds more impressive especially with the way the melody flows over all 4 strings like it does :) Thanks for watching! and commenting!

  • LOL this is cool! And you are good!!!

  • Thank you so much. I appreciate the compliment :) Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • That was really fun!

  • I'm glad you liked :) It was very fun to make. I feel like I should post more violin videos. This is my most viewed video. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

  • cool

  • Thank you!

  • for a moment i thought there were 2 ppl!! keep up the great work!!! (wow i sound like my music teacher!)

  • :D It's okay. I appreciate the compliments! Thank you so much for commenting and watching!

  • Cool, it looks like ur twins or something

  • Thanks! Well, I'm working on being a quadruplet at the moment in a video :) Takes a bit more time though.

    Thanks for commenting and watching!

  • try not to use open strings and play more in tune,but over all it was very good for beginners like u =}

  • I do regret not getting a 'perfect' performance. I do hear the wrong notes. And you've hit on something I've had trouble with. Using my 4th finger rather than open A or open E. My teacher tried to get me to do that. Thanks for the tips and thanks for watching and commenting! :)

  • i'm just wondering,

can you play the violin with your left and right hand?

    haha!

i sound like a jerk with my question,

hope you don't mind answering my question,

    nice playing,

i think i'll play this for my recital,

    i'm a total beginner,

    hehe =]

  • Good luck! It really is a fun song to play and one of my favorites.

I've never tried to play the other way... but i do know someone who had a violin that was strung the other direction so that she could play with her right hand. I'll have to give it a try though :) not a bad question at all. Thanks for watching and commenting! :)

  • wow perfecta comvinacion

    ^^

  • Thank you very much :)

  • Hi iiswansongii! How have you been? Listen, I wanted to thank you so much for taking some of your time to get the sheet music for me. I really appreciate it. It seems easy enough and I can't wait to begin learning it. Thank you once again.

  • You're welcome. :)

  • Hey iiswansongii! I think that was really beautiful. Great Job! But, I was wondering, do you think that maybe you could send me the notes for the version on the right? I have the version on the left, since I have the Suzuki Book Number 1 but I don't recognize the version on the right. Or can you atleast tell me how to get it? Is it in another Suzuki book? Thanks I would really appreciate it! :)

  • Thank you so much :)

Suzuki release a 'duets' book for pieces from books 1, 2, and i think 3. I'll look for it tonight online and send you a link. If I can't find it, I'll scan the duet for minuet 2 from the book and send a PDF to you. :)

  • wow, esta very nice!! me enckanta!!, por ke todos escriben en inghles?? jeje... bye

  • porque el video y la descripcion estan en ingles? o.o hehe si esta buena la cancion la he estado buscando solo q no sabia el autor ni nada haha

  • Thats so kooool[x

What program did you use O_O

  • Thank you :) For this video, I used Magix Movie Edit Pro 11. I recently got their new Magix Movie Edit Pro 14 which is much more powerful in terms of giving me 99 tracks that can be used for audio and video. I also use Sony Vegas 8.0 if I need special effects like in my 2nd writing video. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • cool!

you could play the minuet 3 also..

    xD

  • I like minuet 3. I'm not sure when i'll be able to make it but I'll definetly add it to my list of ideas for videos. Thanks for the request and for watching and commenting :D

  • Nice effort! Keep working it though...

  • Thanks :) Yes, it's not quite perfect but at the time I was just playing it for fun and didn't expect it to get as many views as it has gotten. It seems one never knows which video will do well :) Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • you should work on getting more tone (maybe by using more bow like someone before suggested, but no probs there, thats an easy fix and something i had trouble with learning this piece as well :3) and maybe working on some of the tuning on your notes. :) that aside, you accompany yourself well, and you bring out the lovely baroque style in this piece, which sometimes is left out while performing this piece. :)

    peace, love, and violins.

  • Thank you so much for the compliments and advice! You know, I think I also want to try and play the next duet I perform in a different room. I think the concrete walls of my basement didn't really help the quality of the sound either :/ Thanks for watching and commenting! :)

  • I do see that. For me all the rules went out the window after I left lessons. I was always told by my teacher I used only 4 inches in the middle of the bow. She tried to get me to use the whole bow. But I explained to her that the bow slipped around too much. During a recital that is the last thing you want to happen so when I'm performing it seems like I subconsciously still play that way. I do want to get better though. Thanks for the tip! :)

  • you should work on your bow control, your arm seems very stiff and it really shows in your sound

  • nice job!

  • Thanks :) It's not perfectly played, I'll admit but to be honest, i hadn't played in quite a while before making this video. I started to make another one a few months ago, but I just need time to edit it :) Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • very pretty! nice to be able to hear someone play both parts!

  • Thank you :D Well, I remember learning the melody when I was in book one. Then as I got into book 2 and 3 we would learn the harmony part so that the older kids could play along with the newer students in book one. So, I've played my share of melody AND harmony. In my orchestra, I had a violin 1 seat. The next year, I requested a violin 2 seat. I think it keeps it interesting and is a good way to exercise your 'ear' playing both parts. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • well this is fantastic!

but i want to see your real talent...catching quarters off your elbow!

    What happened to that vid?

check out the musical pumpkin on my page :)

keep up the good work swani!

  • Hi Notbait!

Haven't heard from ya in a while :D

Well, For a few months there, there was a big 'scare' in videos that used copyrighted material and in the beginning I used a copyrighted song so I quickly 'privated' the video. I've planned on reposting the video after I update the music :D Thanks for the encouragement! I do have more videos I'm planning to make, just have to get time to make 'em! Take care and thanks!

  • Hey! I just notice that, either you have a left handed violin and are reeeeeeley good to be able to switch hands like that or you reversed the movie on the right. Did you use a mirror or some other method to reverse it?

P.S. I made me a new bridge last night and it helped out a lot. I think the other bridge was built for a fiddler because sometimes they like to be able to play on three strings at the same time.

  • Well, actually I recorded myself then just flipped one of the clips horizontally in my video editing program the other direction :D I just thought it looked better if I faced myself. That IS interesting about the bridge. I never knew that fiddlers used other types of bridges. I would never have the guts to mess with a bridge though. The post inside could fall out if it's done incorrectly so kudos to you for replacing one. Glad it worked out for you :D

  • That is fantastic! I'm just now looking at this song in book 1. I'm having such trouble with the fast bow crossing at the beginning of the song and my fingers get sore moving so much more than before! I think my bridge has too steep of a slope between the D,A & E string, it makes the bow angle between them a very small change.

You make it look so easy :)

  • Thank you :D Easy? Well, I've been playing for a while and practicing. I'm not the best, but I DO enjoy it. Well, i'd just recommend starting to play at a slower speed until you get it, then as it becomes more comfortable, speed the tempo up a little more. Hmmm...sounds like you may want to take your violin to the music store to take a look at it. I wonder if you need a new bridge? Sounds like the support may be comprimised. Good luck! :D

  • kewl

  • Thank you very much and thanks for watching!

  • Hey, it's me back again.

    =D

Just wanted to say that after some work, I finally got the hang of the song. My teacher said most that most students tend to try and avoid this piece because of how complicated it is, so I'm very happy.

Now I just gotta work on playing it with good timing so me and my teacher can do a duet.

    =D

  • Hey it's great to hear from you again and that is great news! Complicated, but once you do it, for a book one song, it IS rather impressive looking to people watching you play because of all the string changes :) I can't wait to see the video! Hopefully your teacher isn't camera shy. :/

  • XD

Thanks. I'm happy with myself. Gotta practice more though.

Although I won't be able to record until our next recital in January.

I'll be sure to play this piece with my teacher on the recital. I'm not letting the work go to waste.

    XD

  • awesome

  • Thank you kindly! :)

  • very interesting :)

  • Thank you :D This is my most viewed video. Must have done 'something' for it to be so interesting. Thanks for the watch and comment!

  • That was nice, at times you were a little shy about using vibrato but other than that, Bravo!

  • THank you :) Vibrato is definetly something I haven't mastered. I just can't fluidly rock my finger back and forth on the string. My violin teacher tried to teach me how, but it resulted in her just telling me that I needed to practice it and I'd get it. :/ I'm still trying :D Thank you for watching and commenting!

  • actually, it soinded pretty good to me... :)

I;m a be=ginner at cello, and my cello teacher introduced me to the Minuet 2 as well...so I guess we have the Suzuki method in common.. hehe/ thanks for sharing! :D

  • That's is pretty nice !

I have been playing violin since 2 moths ago, I have trible with the time my teacher says I do things as I think about them, hehe is a normal problem. Do you where I can find the sheets for that song? Greettings

  • THank you! If you go to your music store, Look for Book 2 of the Susuki Method. It's a type of violin teaching method that I learned with. The whole method was based on listening to the tape first, then playing it. It trains you how to play by ear first vs. reading music. The only down side, is that I don't know how to read music the correct way. I can play by ear though. Hope this helps! If you can't find it let me know. I could scan it out of my book and email it to you. Thx for watching!

  • Oh thanks I'll go have a look now I can kind of play the first part. Heh I can harly read I just put the note on the paper Thanks

  • Nice job.

    ;3

I'm still trying to get the hang of Minuet 1.

I have to admit though, I think these are the prettiest pieces I've played ever since I started, which was like a few months ago.

    XD

I'd like to do a duet with someone one day.

  • Thank you :D Are you learning by the Suzuki Method? I started playing violin when I was about 8 years old. It's something I'm glad I stuck with. I'm open to video duets with people. :) The only thing is I have 2 so far that I've promised people on YT that I just haven't had time to do! It's heartbreaking but Real Life comes first. XD Good luck and keep practicing!

  • Yup, I'm using the Suzuki Method, along with a bit of my teachers method.

    I quite enjoy it.

    :3

I really want to at least do a duet with my teacher on the Minuets, and eventually, a video duet.

    XD

  • Thats great! Well, I just watched your Twinkle Twinkle Little Star video. You have the hardest thing to tackle down pat which is being in tune. The tone and your confidence you need to work on. It looks like you play on the side of your bow. Make sure the full flat surface of the horse hairs on the bow meet the strings. It looks like you have the passion to play so take comfort in knowing that you are off to a great start from what I'm hearing :D I subscribed so I know when you post your duet!

  • Hehe, thanks.

    I know.

    XD

Well, that video was ages ago.

    I think I've gotten better.

I still have issues getting my fingers right where I want it to be, but I can tell when I'm out of tune.

Although my nervouses is something my teacher is going to help me with eventually.

  • I too can hear when someone is out of tune and it's obvious your being hard on yourself. :D I think stage fright holds alot of people back from becoming the performer they see themselves to be. My violin teacher held recitals every year. Sometimes twice a year. I think that is why I don't have the 'fright' as much. Hopefully your teacher does this and you can get some practice performing infront of people :D

  • Just outta curiosity wat's the name of the violin?

  • I just went to check: Karl Knilling and below it it says Handmade in Germany with a Number and that is all that is on the label inside the violin.

I'm curious why you wanted to know? :D

  • It sounded really nice. I thought it was a professional made instrument. xD

  • Hehe Thanks :D Well, I'm not sure about the brand, sounds like you know it's not? Now you've inspired me to see how 'good' of brand it is. :D

  • Lol wat ever violin you have it's really good so keep it well I treasure mine alot. You creat the music the violin let's other hear it.

  • Hey do you play right and left handed violin!!!

    I did not know

    Sounds great!

  • :D To be honest, I don't think i've ever seen a left handed violin.

Thanks! I see your message on my channel about more duet videos. This video IS one of my most viewed so I DO want to make more.I currently am ready to play a duet with another violin player here on youtube. I just need a free moment to record, and edit it but I will soon :D

    Thanks for commenting and watching!

  • He was a really big fan of a show called Mash. Sometimes when I'm channel surfing, I see pieces of it, but I couldn't tell you what station plays the show, and I've never caught the line myself, but I enjoy Bach so I hear it from him a lot.

  • Speaking of composers, I play more bach than anything but as far as composers go, I do love Mozart.

  • I think pretty much everyone that plays a stringed instrument plays more Bach than anything. He wrote so much. Go Baroke!

  • Ahhhh Bach! An old friend of mine loved that line from an old TV show - sorry I couldn't resist. But I love his minuets and enjoyed your solo duet. It was a cool idea and your critics, they just need to get a life.

  • Thank you for the vote of confidence :D I'll admit, some of the critics who point out the 'incorrect posture' etc, are correct. I just didn't give it a thought while I was making the video I was just having fun. That line doesn't ring a bell, what tv show was it?

  • haha is the other one left-handed :) lol just kidding

  • :D At the time I was editing, I just thought it looked better. My mirror image playing a completely different part. :D

  • MORE BOW!

  • :D I KNOW! XD I remember having this issue way back when I was learning from my violin teacher. I would tell her how I felt I just had more control over the bow in a smaller amount of space. When I use more bow, it would slide around on the strings for me potentially creating a squeak sound which I can't stand. Thanks for reminding me of that though! I plan on making a video duet with Mikel204z to the song Bourree. I'll pay more attention to my bowing next time.

  • hold the violin correctly will ya?!!!!

  • I know! :P I don't deny that it's not the most perfect performance or that my posture is the best. My stand was too low for me to see my music properly. I made the video for fun. I let all of my training go out the window for a while and just played...but thanks for commenting! I'll do better next time :D

  • cool idea!

  • THanks :D I started making another one, but this time do an actual split screen, but this past month I haven't had time to finish it...but I hope so soon. THanks for commenting and watching!

  • I fail to see how that case is "wood", all I see is metal, or something of an "iron-ore" type class.

  • No no, I don't think that Robrosy was saying 'mine' was wooden. It sounded to me like he was just stating how HE wanted a wooden one. Then, I admitted that I liked that my case was rectangle because no one had one that was like that. No, mine is just some sort of fake leather covered box with a velvet interior. :D

  • Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I was confused, lol, but yeah, Happy Fourth Of July!

  • Hehe...no problem :D Happy 4th to you as well. Have a great weekend!

  • This is sooooo COOL!!!! I enjoyed it a lot! I was doubting if you could really play a duet all by yourself and the title of your video's just so catchy!!! Good job!! I love it! Your violin case looks like the one i had two years ago..haha! How i wish i could have a wooden one but according to my violin teacher none of the violins come with a wooden case nowadays..how sad. My friend was showing off hers last year as she took up violin lessons quite a few years earlier than me.LOL!

  • Thank you :D I'm glad you liked it. I'm sure that if you wanted a wooden case, you'd need to buy it special, separately. Maybe you could look on Ebay to see if any one is selling any. When I got my violin, I liked that my case was a rectangle. Most people had ones that were shaped like their violins. So when I had 3 violins to choose from, I'll be honest, part of my decision was based on getting this case since the shop wouldn't let me mix and match. Thanks for watching and favoriting! :D

  • I love the video throughout, but certanly the beginning with the opening of the case, looks like a real movie with the title and all, brilliant job!

    Nicely played as well!!

    Thanks for entertaining me :)

  • Wow, you're welcome. That was the nicest comment yet! :D Yes, I liked the widescreen look too at the beginning. I might have to use that more in my future videos. There were a few notes that weren't perfect that i wish i would have re-recorded myself, but overall I was pretty happy with how it turned out.

Thanks for watching and commenting! :D

  • nice one

  • Thank you :D

  • I JUST CANNOT GET OVER THE SOUND OF THIS.

IF I WERE UR INSTRUCTER, I'de swich sides, and u'de teach me.

You must have been practicing all day, and all night.

    I LOVE THIS PIECE.

    EXCELENT!!!!

    KEEP IT UP.

I'm a pianist, and REAK, compared to U. Check out my videos.

    TELL ME IF I'm right.

    I LOVE U.

  • Thank you Peter :D I'm flattered by the kind words in your comment. You say you 'reak' at piano? Are you kidding me! I just watched ALL 8 of your videos on your channel. You play VERY VERY well :D Keep playing and practicing and you'll only get better and better! Tell Heather that I hear alot of talent still in her as well. All she needs to do is brush up a little bit. Take care and many thanks for your many lovely comments and subscription! :D

  • THANKS!!

When I hear this Minuet, I feel like I'm swinging on a big big swing.

I love the feeling these LOVELY Minuets give me.

My Favorite Minuet in Bach's Minuet in G Minor for the Anna Magdilina Bach notebook.

  • You know, I can play Minuet in G as well. :D

All these songs were a part of the songbooks I learned from when I was in Violin Lessons. They ARE some great songs :D

  • Will u do a duet of the Minuet in D Minor, G Minor, C Minor, E Flat, C Major, E Major, F Major, and so on?

The D Minor, C Minor, and E Flat are by Bach.

The E Flat one, is by CPE Bach.

    I LOVE MINUETS.

Please play some more for me.

  • Right now 'finding the time' is what is holding me back from making more violin videos but I already have a few at least 'planned'. Definetly Minuet in G I'll add to the list. So hopefully some time soon I'll be posting more :D

  • ALL RIGHT!

    THANKS!!

I look forward to ur videos.

    I REALLY DO!

  • That was brilliant.

How long have you been playing?

  • Thank you :D

I started lessons at 8 years old and played all through high school. I was lucky to be in a school district that actually had an orchestra. Most only have bands. I never got rid of my violin and pull it out to play every now and then. I don't think it's my best performance of the song, but this is me trying the idea of a split screened duet. :D

    Thanks for watching!

  • this is so cool! how did u do this?! im playing this song for the solo and ensemble coming up in may! i hope i play this good!:)

  • I recorded myself playing both parts, then edited it together synching up the music in my video editing software. That's all there was to it! :D Good luck with your performance. Well, I know I did mess up a few times, but all in all I think it turned out fairly well. Thanks so much for watching!

  • i know how to play this exlactly like this

  • :D This is just one of my favorite songs to play. It is pretty fun isn't it?

    Thanks for watching!

  • is that your reflection or a different person?

  • Nope, I recorded myself playing both parts, then in my video editor, I set it up where they were both side by side then flipped the one on the left to face myself. I thought it looked better that way :D

    Thank you for watching!

By the way, I did respond 2 weeks ago, but YT must have been acting up and never posted it. sorry so late! :D

  • check out my minuet vids

  • Thank you for watching!

I just watched it now :D One thing I noticed is that you play some of the notes more staccato than I do. How long have you been playing?

  • I played for about two years so far, I played that music a couple of months ago.

  • Definetly keep it up! I have been playing since I was 8. It was the only instrument that I had lessons in. I do think learning an instrument is something everyone should try.

  • Yeah, I agree as well. I used to play the piano because I was told it was a basic instrument, but I thought violin was more interesting.

  • Violin was my first instrument. The violin is such an 'exact' instrument. Which means that you have to have an ear because if your finger is slightly higher or lower on the string, the note will be completely off. I've taken a class in piano, it is basic, but to me it does take alot more coordination than other instruments i've played. I think I prefer stringed instruments. Guitar and Violin. :D

  • Yeah, I think stringed instruments (guitar as exception) such as cello, viola or violin are good for classical music. I like learning classical songs better by Beethoven, Gossec, Bach, Handel or Schuman.

  • I like the tempo, the room echo and both are you playing so the "style" is you but doubled. I just like it.

  • Thank you! Yep, that's my basement. :)

I thought it was kind of tinny sounding, but next time I could clean that up a bit with audio mixer settings in my video editor program. THank you very much for watching!

BTW, I responded 2 weeks ago, and it looks like they never posted so that is why this is so late. sorry bout that.

  • cool. perhaps you can use more bow to get a bigger sound and then we can really hear what you're made of! :D

  • You've reminded me of what my violin teachers used to tell me. They tried to tell me how I only used 4 inches in the middle of my bow. Seeing it now, your right :D When I have time to make another video like this, that I'm currently planning for, I'll need to make sure I do that :D Thank you so much for watching and commenting!

  • Fun!

  • Yes it was actually :D I'm planning to make more. Thank you for watching!

  • I just learned this song. I really like the way yours sounds. I'm probably going to change mine because of this, thanks.

  • You're welcome :D But i'm curious specifically what makes mine sound different?

    Thanks for commenting and watching!

  • The speed mostly. I like the pace you go at.

  • I recently realized after watching other peoples videos of the same song, that I do play it faster.

After seeing that, I do agree that the faster speed kinda makes it sound more impressive! XD

  • when you said blow up shoulder rest, did you mean the playonair one? My teacher lend me one and it was pretty good.
