@1937rb75 Hell yeah! This past weekend I attended the Midwest Banjo Camp near Lansing, MI, and I met him for the first time, and he's the nicest guy you'd ever wanna meet! He let me pick the banjo he had that weekend, and he played my own. Man, that banjo never ever sounded that good until Jim laid his hands on it. Jim and I both took turns exchanging breaks on Fireball Mail, and we both had a blast! Did I mention my banjo was a Gold Star instead of a Gibson?

Upgrading a banjo to an HR30 is not an inexpensive decision. I have been more than satisfied with my decision.....

It sounds out at a Gsharp tone....I would say slightly on the tight side. The ring does not really care, looser gives a flatter, less pronounced tone. Tighter is edgier.....David
