  • aviation NEVER would have taken off without the myriad benefits of rock music. In the military they always play rock music to the fighter-jocks before going into battle. If you don't like hard rock music, get out of the aviation industry!!!! The Wright Brothers if alive today would have been pilot rockers.

  • Yeah the moron who put the audio along with this video ought to go take a leap off the Grand Canyon wall.

  • Poor music choice

  • Why oh why ruin such a classic plane! Poor ole gal!

  • @Flyer1994 I assume it's a test crash probably to check on how the fuel burns after impact.

  • @Flyer1994 Oh, and the poles are there to shear off the wings.

  • Interesting how the wing was sheared off completely when it hit the poles. Yet, we're told that AA77's winds clipped five aluminum poles with ZERO wing shear debris found on the amazing Pentalawn...

  • What the hell is it with people putting really shitty music (usually shitty rock music) to this aviation-related videos? :|

  • I hope your mother gets raped to this music

  • :,(

  • ...HIT THE MUTE BUTTON...!

  • Fucking shit music... typical pointless hard rock crap... thumbs down just for that reason!

  • good video ruined by some band droning on

  • 154 people hate the lockheed constellation while 150 more love it

  • Music is terrible!

  • FAA / NASA crash test. No one was on the plane. It never even left the ground. It just hit obsticals placed for the purpose of the test.

  • SON scrap the music it sux.The first bit of this clip is my favorite scene from the movie flying high(airplane) when they r about to land and the hostess says theres nothing to worry about and this shot comes up on the plane entertainment screen.

  • she died so her sisters could live. it is my understanding they were testing new fire resistant fuels 3 types I believe thats the different colors ? im not an expert but I recall a film about this and the 707 they crashed at EAFB. I think it was the same NASA team ?

  • What a waste of a classic...

  • @pacificbound67 You just said it all bud. what a shame; makes me sad to see that.

  • shit racket!

  • this is where the boeing probably got their idea of a 747

  • Where did all the colors come from?

  • Hummm esse acidente foi com o avião do restart? Olha a cor da fumaça

  • That Loud,Abrasive, screeching sound that emerged from my computer speakers whilst watching the video clip was especially soul-scathing,due to the very early time I am surfing my machine.I managed to mute the grinding, torturous, soundwaves within seconds, however my head and teeth still ache.May the one who regards that noise as pleasureable soon get into a normal state of mind.

  • The music, sorry, noise, ought to have crashed!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:17 guy falls out

  • That has got to be the worst fucking music i have ever heard

  • @crissy214

    fucking music?

that music is not for fucking. It's music to put you in a killing mood.

    [and it works]

  • Footage great. Music sucks!

  • idiot musik

  • Sedge!!! Top rocking tune my man!!!!

  • Actually.. I love the music. I'd love to use it in a podcast project. Can you give me a heads-up segregator... Who is the band and the song?

  • @frontenginedragsterd It's very unlikely. But what's really unlikely is, that not only one, but two buildings collapsed like that, and not only two, but 3 of them, and the third wasn't even hit by a plane! ;-) That's why the official investigation report decided to make the fires responsible for the collapses, but that's even more unlikely. It never happened before to a steel grid building. Let alone three on one day... and this is only one of many very unlikely things on that day. ;-)

  • @frontenginedragsterd That is definitely true, but it is also a security problem. Due to high air pressure above ground planes start to uncontrollably vibrate until they are literally torn apart. However my point here was to show that the more durable material cuts through the less durable. And that happens no matter what speed. So if a soild wood pole cuts through a thin aluminium skin, then a supporting steel column does all-the-more.

  • @frontenginedragsterd ...which leads to yet another mystery of the WTC attacks: how could these jets fly at that speed at all? According to both professional pilots and airline officials planes at that altitude can only fly 250-300 mph maximum speed. Try to explain that!

  • maybe an aria would be bettwer?

  • Lol, this is what was showing on the plane in the movie "Airplane". Safety :3

  • What's a "Costellation"? You'd think a little proof reading would be in order.

  • beautiful clip

    beautiful crash

    fantastic music

All that is modern, violent, crazy, gives bare sensations devoid of any emotion and no compassion to the people inside …

Simple pure pleasure of an accident seen only as sheer sensation of death and violence …

    You pin heads !

  • MUSIC IS NULL

  • Needs a funeral march

  • Nice music

    ASSWAD

  • they were testing a new fuels, wich are suppose to not flame during a crash,as you can see it didt work! lol and destroied a constellation in a failed test!

  • omg awesome music! did the pilot survive in the crash?

  • Great Video...but you can keep the horrible music

  • THIS MUSIC IS BALLS

  • WHAT THE HELL DID U DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you destroyed a piece of history

  • Very interesting to observe how the wooden telegraph poles easily cut the plane to slices. So much for the theory that a passenger plane was supposed to smash the solid steel supports of the WTC.

  • @professortiki - the planes were diced by the building's structure, releasing tonnes of jet fuel which ignited massive fires which weakened the remaining structure which caused the collapse. Not hard to understand really.

  • @JBofBrisbane Yet not true. The fuel burnt away in a few seconds leaving a few ordinary office fires that never before could cause a steel high-rise to collapse. But on this day this unlikely incident happened 3 times, what a coincidence! If you want to watch a real high-rise fire, check Utube for the Beijing Mandarin hotel. The steel construction not only withstood that truely devastating fire, but was even intact enough to be rebuilt. That's what really happens with steel-grids and fires.

  • @JBofBrisbane

I can see the aircraft hitting the building and going a little ways in... But, first their are the outter wall upright

steel columns and then there are the edge on 4" concrete slabs on steel floor pans with steel supports.

The nose of the craft spans about 3 upright steel columns and at least two floor slabs edge on. That has

got to provide enough resistance to cause massive deceleration. The deceleration is the key cause of chaotic disintegration of the aircraft, or should.

  • sad that this classic airliner was destroyed

  • Poor choice of music

  • PRETTY COLORS

  • PISS THAT STUPID NOISE OFF...!

  • The front gear just cracking off was awesome!

  • I want this for my ringback tone

  • yea, that fuckin shit drone like someone bein sick spoils it. fuckin loada shiT

  • He could still be all right. (BOOM) Well, not now probably.

  • *mutes computer

  • life is short if i go give me soft music maybe a voice on crash tecs. would be nice

  • Poor lil' Connie!

  • music gives my arse a headache lol absolute rubbish

  • this video was staged by crash scientists so that they could c how planes crashed

  • @hotwheels770 you mean normal fuel isn't rainbow colored?

  • @sikofu2 no as i said crash scientists staged this so that they could figure out the effects of the fuel in a plane crash i saw a documentory on it

  • @hotwheels770 you're not very good at spotting sarcasm are you?

  • @sikofu2 lol srry but as i cannot hear u'r voice it is hard 2 tell weather u were being sarcastic or u were just stupid. but again srry lol

  • @hotwheels770, The term would be crash "engineers" not scientists. But cudos on spelling it correctly. That was surprising. ;) The other word you might want to learn is,.. "punctuation". You might notice some use of that in this posting. However poor it might be,.. it has still has some. comesacrossalotbetterthanyourway Lesson one. The following is a period; >. Write it down and remember. It's the easiest punctuation mark to make. LOL!

  • @Ghstwn Ahem... Kudos. No 'c' in Greek!

  • @Ghstwn yo man get a life, this utube not a school paper ur handing in and getting graded on. jesus man get a life

  • @hotwheels770 - bad spelling, grammar and punctuation is not a crime against humanity, but it sure does piss some of us off.

  • @JBofBrisbane it sure does piss some of us off when people like you make a big deal about somebodys youtube spelling

  • @Ghstwn that's ironic, cudos is actually spelled with a 'k'

    go figure

  • @chrisjeffsmusic , So is the noun "Knife".

And while C-O-M-E spells "come", Yet for some reason, C-O-M-B spells "comb". And P-O-E-M spells "poem". So, if you can explain any of the phonetic logic in that,... I'll accept your rubutal. Otherwise,... Cudos to you still stands. ;)

  • Learn to use mute you whiney clowns.

Nasa tried a full-up test for a fuel additive in a 720B and made a HUGE mess out at Dryden.

Run a search on "Controlled Impact Demonstration" - Nasa and Wki have some decent pages about it and the video is on youtube someplace.

  • Unmanned Impact test to study the physics of fuel scatter when an airplane is being destroyed by obstructions in a non-runway landing or overrun. There is only one fuel tank filled with fuel - enough to run the engines on the airplane to get it up to speed for the demonstration. The remainder of the tanks on the aircraft are filled with different dyed non-flammable fuel analogues to let the cameras determine which tank the dyed liquid is coming from for purposes of the study.

  • ditch the music..

  • ANNOYING MUSIC

  • who are those stupid people broking such a so beautiffull plane!!!!!!!!!!!!?

  • I listened you demonic "music" during about 0,5 second because I have skill in killing noise.

  • thats really scary and y is it spraying colors

  • @TheAzzbackward: I believe the "colors" are a substance placed in the fuel tanks when performing crash tests to demonstrate how the fuel will react during a crash. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Music sucks and it's too loud. I turned it off. Good video though. Thanks for sharing that.

  • What the fuck is with the music

  • MUSIK 4 RETARDS ONLY 1111

  • the music (if thats what its called) sucks

  • Comment removed

  • This was a planned disaster to test what type of fuel was less likely to explode on impact so it was for safety procautions.

  • What's wrong with the music? I really LIKE Barbara Streisand! lol

  • Music????

  • Blue smoke?

  • @elvethemage They put different coloured die in the fuel tanks so that they could see where the contents of each tank went during impact.

  • @P1LGY D-Y-E 8-)

  • 333,333 sweet

  • Why the hell was it taking off from such an airstrip?

  • V interesting footage. Shame about the plane. PITIFUL music.

  • Gay flight sim. Gay music. Gay video. Just gay.

  • @bigman55434 Flight Sim? really?........

  • Subscribe???

Subscribe to what?? Your recycled videos with shitty music??? Don't think so!

  • Subscribe so I can listen to your shit music??? Don't think so!

  • Is this fun? I don't think so...

  • fuck this music !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It must have taken a while to convince the pilot...

    :-P

  • hold-on all you music haters...if somebody like Quentin Tarrintino added his name to this clip, you would all line up at the cinema??

  • id like to see a 747 do one of those crash tests!!!!!!! that would be sweet!

  • Nice music, I'd rather see it in a MUSIC video though....

  • Thank god there's a mute button on YouTube!

  • @sejlamastalic

I hope you don't live in a free country with an attitude like that, if you do...move somewhere that isn't because you don't belong there.

Freedom means listen to what we want, don't like it?

Leave the country or shut it off.

  • This was a test crash if I recall correctly. What's with the awful music?

Note to kids who copy videos from elsewhere and reupload them--your shitty music does not improve the experience.

  • This band sounds awful and untalented.

  • Sad, those are amazing planes. Would look great in a museum.

    Also, terrible music for this.

  • stupid music

  • In what way does the 'music' contribute to our appreciation of this video? Kills the tunes, man, it'd be a lot better.

  • You sick twisted on the trail to hell freaks, Grow up you don't want to be an ass hole your whole life , what will your braindead kids think, jerks

  • Why the awful music? Poor judgement

  • Why do you have to ruin the clip with this music :|

  • and the point was?

  • Yes, unfortunately this nitwit is one of a growing group who think music must accompany every 'action' video. As if the action itself can't stand on its own merits. Please, spare us the crap music friends.

  • Exactly the way I feel! Almost every other video on Youtube has its sound drowned out by some lame teenager music. It's one thing it you add some music in an overlay but when the original audio is completely removed the entire clip is ruined. I wanna rip this kids asshole out.

  • Need some help mate

  • lol. Maybe I do. But honestly, I would like to hear the audio once in a while...

  • @pageois yeah i have to agree, what shite music

  • @pageois Certainly handy to have a mute button right on your keyboard. I also am unable to understand why such young children feel the need to ruin videos with their childish music. Shame!

  • Too bad you had to ruin a great video with that horrible childish music.

  • @hawkint Well said

  • This was done in the late sixties, as it was used in the promo for a science show at the time.

  • this is cool by y such a nice plane =/

  • Cruel end to a wonderful Connie.

  • They should have used a POS 707 instead. ... or 747...or 757... or 767. So many POS to choose from. Why a Connie?

  • @joefacc: Because Connies were a dime a dozen at the time. Later on, NASA did this same sort of test with a remote controlled 707; the film's on youtube. They are studying why and how fuel gets spread in a crash and what they could do about it. The fuels were dyed, that's why the colors. This fuel didn't even explode until the very end.

  • That's becuase their testing about how always when a airplane crash the fuel of the plane open and make fire and people in the airplane burn to death. And then one day this people thought of an idea about hoe about we put colors on the fuel so we can see how does da plane fuel thing open so they test it and dat;s what happen is dat answers ur question ajp197 okay.oh yeah nice question.hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • why is the smoke blue and green?

  • probably to see what parts of the plane hit the ground the worst, and i dont think its smoke i think its sand

  • This was an experiment using different agents (I;m not sure what) in the fuel to try and stop the spread of fire upon an impact crash. The coloured die is to help the researchers identify each of the agents they had added, and measure the amount the fuel spreads. As you can see, the experiment did not go well and the results were not as expected.

  • nope the fuel is the colerd stuff

  • does any1 have msn???

  • such a wonderful aircraft ... how can people do this !! :x

  • So the rest 100 000 wonderful aircrafts and priceless people wont die.

  • @vivaharshad: Safety is worth more than junk aircraft, and Constellations were junk as far as usefulness was concerned after the jets came out. At the time there certainly wasn't any doubt in the flying public's mind; the long haul prop planes disappeared just about overnight.

  • @ 00:37 someone or something is riding on top of the fusalage? must be economy class...lol

  • Comment removed

  • Was tht a body tht flew outr of the pink at 1:18????!!!!!

  • No don't worry, this plane was likely being crashed for a reason so it wasn't full of people. That thing you saw was too big for a person, it more than likely was part of the wing's propeller or a chair or something flying out. Though I'll point out the pink part wasn't near the body of the aircraft which means it would have been only plane parts, and not human. ^__^;

  • Was that pink stuff dirt then?

  • No, since there's multiple colors it must have come from something they put into the plane to make it's crashing more...grand, or something.

Like at around 30 seconds or so the wing on the left side of the screen is split by something and the colored blue substance spews out. So it's probably just contained in the parts of the plane at certain points.

  • looks like they put different colored stuff in different parts of the wing so they could see what broke when and how the fuel might spread in a real accident..my guess..

  • They were testing a Fuel that would not burn, but only spread out everywhere.

It was a bad idea, cause this Fuel was sticky, and sticky = dangereous for the passengers!

  • lol

  • Welcome on Air France aircrafts.....

  • an dilie the song jackass its finger eleeven i can tell cause of their album wind up contains content forit

  • i am surprised you morons didnt sy but what up with the significent pattern of colors

like abca patern at 00:14 you can see

  • ppl r putting big comments

  • I am fortunate to have several hundred hours in the Connie, front seat time. I was co-pilot when the Navy's last "slick" (std passenger/cargo) C121J was taken to the boneyard in 1974. She was beautiful and flew great. Sure hated to leave her there in Arizona. There are safer and faster aircraft but there was something about those four massive double row radials.

  • Nice clip but really horrible music. Why did you ruin this clip with such a hich pitch noise? Very sad

  • why does this always happen to boeings and american aircraft?? they like get draged up the runway

  • I was in a squadron in the US Navy that flew C-130's, and had the opportunity to fly in P-3's for training. These were exceptional aircraft, IMO Lockheed built the best medium-heavy turboprop A/C; but these birds pale in comparison to planes like the Connie- a beautiful aircraft that was very elegant in it's simplicity. Shame there aren't more Connies in the air today... And yes, I was saddened a little seeing the destruction of one of these beautiful old gals...

  • This video kinda breaks my heart, I don't like seeing pieces of history being destroyed but I guess it's for a good purpose. It's like going to a monster truck rally and seeing old chevys and Buicks beeing crushed for peoples enjoyment!!!! why can't they use JAP CRAP instead of old classic cars that are becoming very hard to find now and days.

  • This is from the 1950-60's or so from the looks of it, when they were still in production. There would be no reason to do it today. Still sad, though. (Also, the DC-6 was the last commercial service propliner with a large airline, from what I hear. )

  • In my post-embryonic period, I was 5 or 6, my brother and I flew with our grandmother on a Connie, at least twice. They were better than the Lockheed Electras, you could actually hear yourself think on the Connie. The Electras were waaaay too noisy.

  • I bet, they are both very beautiful and graceful aircraft though, but I can see the connie being a little more advanced than the electra. The Constellations were pretty much the last prop airliners, the were used alongside the 707's, and 880's

for a brief time untill their retirement from commercial service. shit, then the navy and airforce used them as awacs during nam.

  • The Connie dates back to WWII. The Lockheed Electra is still in use by the Navy (P3 Orion). Also, the electra is a turboprop, the Connie is piston driven, water cooled. Electras had vibration problems, and as I mentioned before, noisy as hell.

  • Connie had Wright R-3750 radial piston engines, air cooled. Doubt any radials liquid cooled. The Connie had a beautiful shape but she was anything but simple. The engines alone were part turboprop ("turbo-compound"...power recovery was conducted by turbines in the exhaust giving 10% more power capability). Overhaul ~= the price of an average house. Took a crew of four (or I guess five transoceanic) to fly a Connie.

  • @bd64kcmo Sorry, the turbo chargers do not make it a "turbo prop".

  • Hi Doug, I admit I was not clear with what I meant by power recovery turbines ("turbo-compound")...those recycled actual torque into the crankshaft, scavenging power from exhaust momentum. They also had turbochargers to run at high altitude, but the power recovery turbines were separate mechanisms. That is what I meant by "part turboprop", albeit a small part. You are right - they are not regarded as "turbo props". Regret lack of clarity in my post.

  • That is NOT funny ='(

Think of the poor little conny

  • Your soundtrack SUCKS! What commercial metal crap...

  • soundtrack RoCkS!!

but ur so lame to like Metal

    loser \|/

  • Agreed, why do people put up great video's with dogshit music that ruin it, its not cool at all, just sad

  • I'm glad they learned from this, but what a sad end for one of the most beautiful airliners ever built.

  • It doesn't have 2 rows of windows - those dots were probably painted on to see how it crumpled.

  • looking for a connie?

I just arrived in manila airport yesterday and there is on standing for years together with a few c-47!

    want pics let me know!

  • My fathe
