  • I took Mark Slaughter ( his vocals on this song)as a direct inusult! Note to VVI ,GIrls rock too !

  • @Freyja1133 Mark didn't sing on this song...

  • they reckon vinnie used to sleep with his guitar...fuckin oddball!!!

  • is this recording sped up`?

  • The Boyz and Girlz Are GonnaRock!

  • This is what was wrong with the 80s.

  • A guitar solo with a song built around it instead of the other way around.

  • I'm not going to apologize, this video is 80's metal! I remember watching it on Headbangers Ball and we about went crazy when that dude jumped down while on fire, all while the band was trashing the stage. It was crazy, it sucked, but it was hilarious and it rocked!

  • No other guitarist owned the stage like Vinnie did with Kiss.

  • I loved this whole album. Vinnie can jam and write songs but I don't think he fit in KISS or any other band. Vinnie was a star. He was not made to be just a lead guitar player of a band. Kiss did not fit what vinnie needed and vinnie did not fit what KISS needed. I think I'm gonna go dig up this tape and see if it still plays.

  • as fast and crazy that solo is, it does go with the songs structure.

  • These guys look like hard bitches, running in the halls of hell. Vinnie is pretty scary even though he is dressed pretty. The singer looks very sure of himself. Dana on bass is doing some heavy pouting. The drummer....well.... looks pissed off full of metal.

  • no doubt, Vinnie is an awesome guitarist, but very self destructive .

  • @kevindrummer47 Agreed

  • 21 people must hate rock music

  • The greatest guitar player Kiss ever saw. Vinnie Vincent was the best thing to happen to that band in the 80's.

  • Well, that was pretty fucking stupid.

  • @earring1 You watching something you don't like.. Now THAT IS stupid.. Go back to your boring music mate...

  • Awesome haha. When I was 11 I loved these guys. Wow. Pretty funny 20 years later

  • Wow, that was probably the gayest video I ever saw.

  • BITCHIN!

  • Vinnie Rules.. Miss Him!!!

  • In regards to pre Kiss Vinnie, he also was a staff songwriter for Happy Days. Can't see Potsie or the Fonz being able to handle VV in full shred.

  • Yeah, "boyz" with pink guitars and make-up. How are the women?

  • here's a little info for ya, Vinnie Wrote this song for Kiss and they did actually demo it. but in the end i guess they didnt wanna record it... i have a bootleg album of Vinnie and it has this song with kiss on it!

  • @Imtherealsaturnsonic The original version of Boyz are Gonna Rock became On the 8th Day on the Lick It Up album.. They changed the chorus though..

  • @glamdog69 they changed the whole song...lol. sounds nothing like boyz...everything is different guitars drums lyrics, so in my eyes that would make it a different song :-)

  • @Imtherealsaturnsonic If you listen to the original Warrior demo of Boyz are Gonna Rock and then listen Kiss's On the 8th Day the verse riffs are exactly the same..

  • I can really get into this song. Full of energy and just feels good to TURN IT UP!!!

  • i like vvi but this song.... ehh. and WHAT!?! mark slaughter is a fricken God! how can anyone think robert fleischman or whatever his name is tops mark!? i think mark had a very VERY big impact on vvi and they couldn't have gotten the little success they did without him.

  • intro sounds like RATT - In your direction

  • Try to imagine this song sung by Paul Stanley and played by KISS...What a shit..

  • I saw this on metal mania today on VH1C. Gotta say it gave me some respect for glam.

  • unibrow ftw

  • Mark Slaughter lip-synching to what's-his-name's vocals? Wow! This is Slaughter minus Tim Kelly.

  • @thescoundrel1 ...and Blas Elias.

  • @Wankenforce Oh, yeah.

  • Does anyone else see that the singer in this videoclip is Mark Slaughter who didn't sing this song but only appeared on the next VVI record "All system go"?

Personnaly I think that Robert Fleischman who sang on the first record had a better voice...

  • @rafalonero

You are asking whether this singer is Mark Slaughter? I don't think he looks like him and I know it was Robert Fleischman who sang for this album. But I do agree that Robert Fleischman had better voice. I also think Mark Slaughter sounded better with Vinnie Vincent Invasion than was with Slaughter.

  • The most beautiful. Elegant men in the true sense of the word!

  • Has anyone watched this video all the way through? They really start bad tripping at the end there, fucking dealer sold them some bullshit.

  • Oh the heyday of cocaine inspired guitar solos where art thou?

  • Oh to go back in time and be this bands Coke dealer. Daddy needs a new everything.

  • best song from of vinnie vincent invasion in my words

  • That guitar got a leathering in every sense of the word.

  • gene get vinnie back in kiss NOW

  • @666orsexsexsex well thats a stupid idea.

  • @zachleda Not really, besides Ace he is the best songwriter Kiss have seen...

  • awesome guitar work.

  • @ mikebeange how is having big hair and wearing make up gay tell me exactly. Plus yer just mad because he did better then what he did with kiss i love kiss and all but i have to give thumps up to vinnie

  • Not a bad tune, but that solo is just terrible.

  • FREAKING AWESOME. TOTALLY ROCKS. I agree. Vinnie saved Kiss.

  • Excuse me, but.... boys??

  • My buddy and I met these guys in 1976 at the Sound Warehouse album signing in 1986, when they were here, opening for Iron Maiden. The guys signed my Vinyl Album (the first one) and I still have it, in MINT condition! The guys were cool, except for the drummer, who was full of himself. Vinny seemed especially grateful to see the crowd. Funny thing is, they were all glammed up, with Vinny's hair looking like Tina Turner's hair in the 80's!

  • we did not look and dress, but the song is amended

  • I had this album and I hated it more or less...Vinnie's GAY makeup and all that way over-the-top guitar playing was beyond rediculous. His work with KISS was better

  • vinnie is one the best guitar players in the 80,s

  • Fuckin' Fleischman voice..

  • Its a damn shame that that double v guitar (which is soooo hard to come by these days) just got smashed by vinnie like its nothing :P too bad, I've been looking for one for my whole life.

  • cameo by Gene Simmons himself? 4:06

  • now who is singing? is this mark slaughter?

  • @KISSlover132 In this video is Mark Slaughter, but the voice is from Robert Fleischman...Slaughter sings in playback in this video..

  • @TheBigF .... LOL I wish I had seen this before I posted. And for what it is worth he is better than Kulick IMHO. =)

  • sux..funny though..

  • They should have cut this vid with Marks Vocals

  • whats with the flaming guy in the fire suit jumping onto stage?

  • miss the 80's

  • por que vinnie vicent se viste de vieja???

  • Being sped-up isn't always indicitive of being lame or a bad player, a bunch of Lynch's solos from Tooth And Nail were sped up by the producer.

  • @MrBizzmarky76 .... And Lynch is incredible. =) I am sure Vai and Yngwie and others do it as well. Technology.

  • Killer musicianship, but those vocals & costumes have got 2 go, just sayin'...\m/ o_0 \m/

  • esto si es poder hpt vida

    vivan los 80's lml

  • Best end to a music video EVER!!

  • Loved this album... but in the end all it did was create another KICK ASS BAND!! SLAUGHTER!!! FTW

  • VVI and Poison show what took to be a real glam metal band

tons of make-up and great riffs

too bad they didn't make it

  • He did help resurrect Kiss, but on this album he sounded like he was sucking lemons!! ACE IS THE MAN!!! Mark ST. John was better than Vinny could ever hope of being.

  • UGLY CUNT! GO DIE!

  • 4:07 is my favorite part of the video - some randomoid dude jumping from the scaffolding on fire - that's ROCK! I remember catching this on MTV's Heavy Metal Half-Hour show with Alan Hunter hosting it back in 86 or 87. I believe the burnt out Hunter asked "What is this guy going here?!" This song isn't a favorite of mine, but these guys were going all out to make the baddest ass glam HM video of all-time (or so they thought).

  • The greatest song by the greatest guitarist / songwriter /dog carcarss preservationist ever.

  • vinnie looks like lady gaga, Dam Mark was freakin young

  • Loved this when it came out and still do - the first Invasion album was simply excellent "Animal" and "Invasion" being particular favourites.

Never knew this vid existed until today so thanks for sharing

  • this is awesome! Love it!

  • this is so fucking bad. That dude just can not sing....

  • Great player but terrible music.

  • I can tell you i saw this band back in 86 when they opened for alice cooper and they sounded better than this LIVE!!!! and i feel nothing was SPED up!!!!

  • @CVW2112 I never understood that sped up myth either.. i've heard recorings of the band live and in all honesty they sometimes play this track a little faster than the studio version.. I guess there are alot of jealous people out there..... hehe

  • @glamdog69 Only the vocals by Robert Fleichmann were sped up, I think.

  • @CVW2112 Thats caus Mark was singing \M/ .....

  • i always thought SHE was a bad-ass git-fiddle player

  • Comment removed

  • @DeAtHTrAp559 hmmm Vinnie saved Kiss....

  • @glamdog69 I think he had a hand in HELPING resurrect Kiss. That said, this still sucks out loud.

  • @demonhoopa Well, he dragged them out of disco hell that is for sure.. hehe i love the Invasion.. good 80s metal

  • @glamdog69 Actually I think KISS dragged Vinnie out of disco hell. Vinnie Vincent used to be the guitarist for The Dan Hartman band. If you don't believe me look up Dan Hartman "Instant replay" and you'll see Vinnie playing the cheeziest disco you can ever imagine.

  • @wanttorockout Yes it is true.. He worked as a session player before Kiss... Got to make a living I suppose.. He was a very sought after guitarist back then.. He also did some stuff with Laura Nyro....

  • @glamdog69 Great guitarist regardless of what genre of music he was doing :).

  • @wanttorockout Agreed, totally :)

  • @glamdog69 if Vinnie saved KISS why isnt he still in it??? Gene and Paul FIRED VINNIE because he had DEMONS inside him and those DEMONS were going toward the other band members.

  • @DeAtHTrAp559 Yeah he was fired in 1984.. then was asked back in 1991 to help write more songs.. I think Gene and Paul have demons of their own to contend with also...

  • @glamdog69 In my opinion, if only Gene and Paul knew HOW MUCH they're HURTING the NAME and LEGACY THAT IS KISS! In other words, in my opinion, Gene and Paul AREN'T doing the fans ANY favors by CONTINUING to record new music and touring with Ace and Peter imposters in the form of Tommy and Eric!

  • @glamdog69 and gene killed kiss by firing him

  • @DeAtHTrAp559 He was trying to showcase all his talent and what he was good at...obviously he burned the candle at both ends. And his album was listed 100 on 100 greatest heavy metal albums. So he was doing something right.

  • @DeAtHTrAp559 ... The music might not be, but he smokes any guitarist (including Kulick) that Kiss had....

  • This is ssooo bad that it's good! Takes tackiness off the charts! I love when the pissed-off Paul Stanley look alike drummer hits the two cymbals placed behind him. Classic. Horrible lyrics set to lots of 'splosions, sparks and a hot pink over-shredded Spinal Tap guitar solo complete with sexual implications. They didn't need to, but I love the addition of the flailing flame suit guy jumping from the scaffolding. Thumbs up!

  • Ah yes......that hits the right spot

  • Funny how Mark is lip singing to Robert Fliechmans voice.Mark actually blows him away!

  • The guy on fire just made my jaw drop with awesome.

  • ESSE SENSO ESTETICO DO SOLO VEM DO MESTRE VAN HALEN...ELE É MELODICO...

  • Comment removed

  • saying this vid (and VV himself) is over the top is an understatement...ridiculous is a more appropriate word. The guy can play guitar...he just chooses not to. And WTF is up with his tone?...it's scratchy, shrill and just horrible...wouldn't hurt to use the pickup selector every once in a while, at least. Finally, what does destroying the set have to do with "rocking"?...that's the most cliche' thing you can do (unless you're The Who).

  • Why are people even commenting about his guitar playing prowess on this thread when this guy can't even play guitar? A couple of power chords alternating with lightning fast scales and repetitive series of 3-4 notes does not require skill. I don't hear any creative melodic lines or a catchy hook.

    watch?v=noroty_L0CU&feature=related

  • fuckin' insane solo

  • actually they were sped up for vincent

  • Gene Simmons said that Vinnie was like a pain in the ass.

  • @Kakriainen Yeah, Gene also said said The only gift Vinnie's allowed is the right to keep his stage name Vinnie Vincent

  • This song is being played in A, but sounds like Bflat, proof that it was sped up.

  • Ferocious player. No melody in the solo. They look more ridiculous than many bands of the time. Do you think they ever looked at one another in the dressing room and thought, "Damn, we look stupid."

  • @grantorino2009 I think it was more like a joke, don't take this seriously (the music is good) BUT the image was a joke, maybe they thought it was funny.

  • @VinceTheInstructer50 The image is call Glam.. You may remember alot of bands in the late 80s that did this kind of thing?? No??? I personally think it's great and far from boring like todays music scene offers up...

  • @glamdog69 I know almost every glam bands in the 80s i'm a big fan of this kind of music.. But VVI really had their own style like no other., i mean try to find a band with extreme high vocals like this (they are the only one) listen to about 30 second of VVI you will know it's them right away.. And how about Vinnie's guitar playing? no other like him... I totally agree with you today's music sucks..

  • Vinnie is a bad mutha fucker on that guitar.

  • My mom and her friends sure kick ass here! They rocked! And they made the best chicken soup!

  • Who looks more gay........Vinnie Vincent in this video or " Bobby Trendy"?

  • can i get that sweet guitar anywhere?

  • @Morbidjeff666 edroman.com/guitars/abstract/vtwin.htm

  • They were a great band. I saw them open for Iron Maiden in Sacramento. I remember it was on a Friday the 13th.

  • Is that Dana Strum? Look at him then and now! Vince Neil Band.

  • About the whole "sped up sound," it does mention it in the cassette jacket that it was sped up a half step. If you tune your guitar to this album, you will notice that you will have to tune a half step above standard tuning.

  • Nine boys won't gonna rock...

  • They should have called these 80's bands "Tranny Metal" instead of "Hair Bands".

  • These ladies can really play.

  • Slaughter was contrived and didn't have the same talent level, they did well for the time period right at the break of grunge and then faded away like all the rest of them. Nothing new there...

  • What a fucking waste of time

  • I really feel sorry for Vinnie after hearing the news recently. I always liked Vinnie, but the news makes me sad. His life is realy ruined.

  • uggh...sooooo bad it hurts to listen!!!...no wonder kiss booted him...no talent for songwriting

  • Music to beat your wife to...

oh yeah...music to listen to while stuffing dead dogs in plastic containers.

  • I'd set myself on fire too if I was a part of that video and song. Good god...

  • what the hell!!

  • RIP beautiful pink guitar ....

  • Forget his recent arrest. The real crime is this abomination of a song/video.

  • @lesterawilson3 WTF are you talking about? This video is hilarious and vastly entertaining. No rock n roll spirit eh?

  • It's a shame, just read on ultimate guitar that Vinnie was arrested for assaulting his wife. There also some other disturbing things that I'd rather not mention. My point is that Vinnie went from Kickass guitarist to criminal =(

  • @RitchieBlackmore124

I'm skeptical. Vinnie Vincent is about my height and weight. I just cannot envision Vinnie Vincent dragging a woman through a pile of glass. My "bitchdar" is going off.

It's gross that he didn't bury his dogs, but I've heard of dogs killing other dogs. The alpha male is pretty fucking aggressive toward other dogs.

  • @riverlioness I actually found out he wont be charged for the dogs because turns out the weather was too horrible for a proper burial for them, and yes the 'bitchdar" does seem to go off when they mention his wife.

  • Guess they didn't like their instruments

  • im glad when slaughter got together the dropped the rocky horror show

  • Best Video ending.Ever. \m/

  • his solos are horrible noise

  • @bajaracer40x No way! His solos are great, you must not be a fan of real rock!

  • tglat...love you.

  • my first concert Feb. 15, 1985 VVI and Iron Maiden! WOOOOOOO!!!

  • Does anybody knows the videoclip of KISS 'lick it up' in that clip vinnie looks a lot like a wife hahahaha

  • Hahahahahahahahahaaaa thumbs up !!!! Lol

  • Oh dear. Some things age well, some don't.

This... just... doesn't. Smashing instruments? Sorry kids, The Who did that 20 years before this - it was old when these guys did it. The 1980s glamrock thing just looks so schlocky now.

Plus, Vinnie is pure 80's shredder. All speed no soul. Not my bag at all.

  • @zoso8t0 I understand what ur saying dude, but I wasn't even alive during this time, but I think it's awesome. Yea, VVI look is way over-the-top, but that's what's they were going for.

Also, I got to disagree with Vinnie being pure 80's shredder. Sure that's some of what he did, but he also came up with good riffs and most importantly, good songs. If it wasn't for him, KISS would of died, so he's much more than "pure 80's shredder"

  • @BalazsJOUR3150

He made no difference to the survival of Kiss at all. His ego got him kicked out cos he thought he WAS Kiss. He wasn't with them that long and they would have collapsed after he left if he had been THAT important. He may as well have been a session player for the difference he made to them. Having said that, don't get me wrong, I like him and think he could have done vastly better than he did if he hadn't been so full of himself.

  • @janejeff1 He made a difference because of his songwriting contributions to KISS. They were on the brink of collapsing after The Elder (which is a very good record) and he injected life into the band with "Creatures" and "Lick it Up." Also, its not like Paul and Gene were the easiest people to work with at that time too.

I agree that ego got in the way and he could have been much better if it was not for that. However, the guy remains of my favorites and I want new music from him!

  • This isn't music....this is an Invasion!

  • if you watched and listened to this from 5 feet away from the screen you could sware those are all women

  • Haha, the bass riff is from Morris day and the time- Jungle Love. Anyways, VVI kicks some serious ass though I prefer Marks vocals.

  • @HeavyMetalNoize never mind ?

  • @Hoota5150

Whats the point of this reply? What exactly are you trying to say?

  • kind of hard to bear the name of your own band when youre not the lead singer

  • @Defender78 What are you trying to say ?

  • @Defender78 Van Halen

    Dokken

  • Comment removed

  • @bigmoney4635

    Yep...Vincent burned some bridges...total @#$%$&

  • This is Robert Fleischman (formerly of Journey) singing on the first album. Fleischman claims the record was 'sped up' to make Vinnie's solos sound faster... and therefore the pitch of his voice was higher than in real life. Rob was axed & Mark Slaughter was brought in because he had a naturally higher voice. The joke was on Vinnie.. Chrysalis Records kicked him off the label and gave the contract to Mark and Dana Strum.. which as we know evolved into the extremely successful Slaughter band.

  • @JesusAteMyPizza I never heard the album speed thing, but it wouldn't surprise me.. that being said he's still an insane guitar player and pretty much nailed the material live and sometimes played faster than the record.... Never liked Slaughter too much.. had a few good tracks but prefered the VVI :)
