stocks of these small fish are been cleared out of lakes by eastern europeans who are using pallets with 50 or 100 hooks attached to them, and left overnight on the water.. destorying the fish stocks.. thats sad..

Very nice, brought memorys flooding back,I was looking out for the stickleback I used to catch with a worm on a rush when I was a small boy in Ireland but it may be, the Perch and Pike have finished them all off
Ell is seasonal fish, and you can find it in June-July in almost any lake (+ rivers & canals) if it has water communication with the sea. But as I know it's illegal to catch ell in Ireland. So, check regulations before trying... to do not get troubles.
if its illegal for eels find a lake with eel in and put up a maggot feeder with a lobworm and say your trying for perch or any other fish what takes the lob =p
