I thought that the Black & Tans uniforms from both the RIC and the British Army? The British Army Staff Grade Officers didn't want their uniforms associated with these people. The trousers,boots and leggings were from the British Army. The uniform coat from the RIC and black balmoral Bonnet Some of the Black & Tans were former British soldiers and other were convicted felons released form Dark Moor and Petter's Head Prison.
