  • lol why didnt i see it instantly : II + II + I = IIIII

  • Comment removed

  • WHICH IDIOT LOOKS AT THAT AND THINKS 4=1+1+1+1

    I GOT 5=1+2+2 IN 2 SECONDS!

  • eh, 2+2=4 easy!

  • soooo hard

  • cmn this is easy :|

  • i have a better one look closely

    1+1 = window don't understand

make the equation in a single point or center

    boom a window appears LOOOOOOOOL

  • 5=1+2+2

  • 1111(crossed out = sign)1+11+11

  • U said removing not moving learn to speak english if ur gonna make a video and ask people questions. btw the anwser would be 8 if u were to remove one of the matches. cause u just take out one of the sticks for the equals sign so its 1111 - 1 + 11 +111

  • @FLiPZiDE2 ummm he said moving so listen and plus if its not too hard to tell this is his second language(at least i think it is) so its obviously hard for him

plus english is the hardest language to learn

  • @MegaBradley111 i dont think i was talking to u... and English is not the hardest language to learn

  • @FLiPZiDE2 ummm yes it is if it isnt the hardest to learn than which language is?

  • @MegaBradley111 extinct languages

  • @FLiPZiDE2 is english your second language?

  • 111+11+1=1111

    11+11+1=11111

  • or

    3 =/= 1 + 2 + 3

  • is IIII a legit ciphre in math anyway ? it's neither roman numeral nor algebra..

  • Burn them all. No problem, no solution. Easy.

  • Just take one from the plus sign put it over the equal sign to make a does not equal sign.

  • 12, and then 11

  • You can also move one from the 2 and give it to the 4. 5=1+1+3

  • thats 5... theres another +1 after the 1+1+1+1

  • ahahahahaha that's the stupidest math challenge I've ever seen!

  • or just make the + sign in front of the1 to be a minus sign... 4=1-2+3

  • @ShadowphixUnlimited

    1-2+3 is 2 not 4 :D

  • @DeeZarh bad math, lol i didn't take into account the negatives! i feel sooooooo stupid.

  • @DeeZarh Its actually 4

  • @DeeZarh is over 9000!

  • Solution: 3 is NOT equal to 1 + 2 + 3

Just take 1 match from the left side and put it across the equal sign.

  • Could be IIIII=I+II+II. ( 5=1+2+2 )

  • I'm pretty sure that when people start doing math problems at a party that's when it's time to find a better party

  • solve this:

    1+1=11

  • @redbarron718 take away the + sign...

  • use one of the matches to light the table on fire and see how fast someone outs it out.....i like my trick more.

  • Move one of the matches onto the equals sign so it becomes a "not equal to" sign. ≠

  • 5=1+1+2

  • go fuck yourself :-) have a nice day

  • @themanwhofuckedyourm lol you stupid little rager

  • What about taking any stick and put it on the ( = ) it will be Non-equal < not sure of the name but hope u get it :D

  • too easy ((:

  • guys, the point is that you move a stick around but you still use it some where else in the equation

  • 4 = 2 + 2 - 3

  • 4=1-2+3

  • Yea bcuz every likes math in a party

  • LOL I thought moving any matchstick to the equal sign would be the answer. So,

    3 does not equal to 1 + 2 + 3 or whatever haha.

  • he sounds like mr. bean

  • HERE IS A MATH PROBLEM...YOU+ YOUR TRICKS= SUCKS ARSE !!!!!

  • THIS IS WHAT ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER DOES ON THE SIDE: PARTY TRICK N STUNTS WITH CALIFORNIA'S MONEY

  • eh, 5= 1+2+2, another very easy way >_>

  • @Dutchlad112 That's actual math, we're only supposed to solve it using magic.

  • At first he said remove one match, but didn't say to put it in a different spot.

  • also try 5+5=550 byonly using one line like (), /, or I its fun messege me if u want da answer thumbs up so its at the top

  • lol since when does it have in math only one way to get a solution? there are a lot of ways to do it

  • lol i dont know having some drunk people actualy use there brains that may turn out bad!

  • how? easy, i have a russian accent.

  • there's more than one way to solve it

  • Well you could also move any match and make the = symbol look like the ≠ symbol...

  • I have a diffrent solution.

From where You have 3 matches move 1 to the other side.

    So You have 5 = 1 + 2 + 2

  • or 4=1-2+3

  • @wranglinn um no. not really. once you understand order of operations, you will understand why that doesn't work at all.

  • @69gwyatt order of operations hs nothing to do with that

  • Comment removed

  • @Topphat18 I'm pretty sure it does**

  • @69gwyatt Uh no.

  • @wranglinn for some reason i don't think that works out to equal 4

  • @wranglinn that equals 2 lol

  • @wranglinn Did you fail match class?

  • If we take the equation from the spectators point of view (IIII = I+II+III) then there is NOT a way to remove one match to leave a correct equation. However, taking the equation from the performers point of view (III+II+I = IIII), one can remove the vertical match in the second addition sign to give III+II–I = IIII. In any case, you said “removing one match” which you did not do. FAIL.

  • you take the one match out of the plus in between the one and 2

  • ..i thought u ment only "removing" one stick, i guess i mustve missheard yer. :P

  • U can also solve this by moving one from the three and putting it with the four... Five equals one plus two plus two

  • you can also do this 111+11-1=1111 move one of the two that make the plus sing between 11+1 and make it 11-1

  • ......stupid

  • You think I can see those fucking matches at a party?

  • i solved this immediatly.... wow... take the top match off the first plus sign... and im not done watching the vid yet... this is very dissipointing.

  • 1111not=1+1+1+1=4

  • I solved this by taking one of the matches from the equal sign and placing it at the last addition sign to read 4 - 1 + 2 does not equal 3.

  • i thought you said 'remove'... that made it very difficult

  • u can also do like 5= 1+1+3 take one of the 2s n make 5 lol

  • u can take any of the matches and put it on = so it would be /= ,

or make it 4<1+2+3. poor trick too many solutions

  • i thought you put a toothpick from the last one to the 4 so it would be 5=1+2+2. but your way works to

  • what are your parties like man jeez

  • I just took the last stick and put a cross through the equals sign so that it reads "four doesn't equal one plus two plus two)

  • Or get last (right) and put it to the first (left)

  • The easiest way was to just move the last mach to the left side. 5=1+2+2

  • 3+2-1=4

  • @Zdarkgoth

hey you just put mine backwards, which is what i was meaning to do, then this person dtbow24 thinks i failed math

  • I hope people know 1-2+3=2

  • 4=1-2+3

  • @blackhawk7170 You must have failed math

  • Take that back X]

  • The first plus sign take the match ontop then u get 4 = 1 - 2 + 3

  • thats so bad lol put the 1 on the end on the other end lol

  • done 5=1+2+2

  • @alewisgb wat i was thinking too

  • psh .-. just move the match in between the 2 and the 1. It'll be 3 + 2 -1 = 4 easy as cake.

  • Maybe I'm just wierd but I took any of them and put it going through the equals sign to make a does npt equals sign = to ≠ haha =P

  • 1+1+1+1 = 4

You need one more year math class

  • Or 3=1-2+3

  • @cleffaruru =)) hahahaha. you are smart dude, but recalculate

  • from right to left. change the second plus sign to a minus sign. 3 +2 - 1 = 4

  • i fugured it out when i paused it

  • what i did was take one match from one of the + signs

  • roman numerals are lame

  • @CuBeOrDiE

    there were no roman numerals.

  • where is the trick?...

  • how is this a party trick!@! who does amth in parties

  • just move 1 match to the left

  • noob

  • 4=1 change + to - 2 + 3

  • nothing tricky.

  • you can also make

    4 is not 1+2+2

  • @Quintero2soccer and

    @KaosOwnage47

    hahahahahaha

  • After watching "The Glad Dog", This was easy :D

Your videos have opened my mind up. Lol

  • Or you can take away one stick from th pluse sign making it 4=1-2+3

    4=1+3

    4=4

  • Since when do we read from right to left? The way it's written, it's like you're saying 4= 1 minus 2 plus 3.

  • @TheD2250 From his point of view he put it in the correct oder

  • 1-2+3 = -4 dumbass

  • no it aint XD 1-2=-1 + 3 = 2 so it isn't 4 but it isn't -4 eiter

  • @KaosOwnage47 wtf???? where did you learn maths?

  • @Quintero2soccer Um I think the thing is to keep all of the match sticks

  • I thought you put the 1 in the front so it could be 5=2+3.

  • @tocneneng Lol but it wouldnt make sense cuz it would say 5 = + 2 + 3 XD and yes i know my comment is 5 months late

  • @tocneneng no cause then it would be 5=+2+3

  • @midgetMouze +2=positive2 it would still work. think like pre-algebra

  • if u do this at a party ull get so much ass

  • By REMOVING one match, not by MOVING one match. Solution is 3+2-1=4

  • 5 = 1 + 1 + 3 gg

  • he coulof also done 4=1-2+3

  • @kieranj112 1-2 = -1

    -1+3=2

    lol

  • you can to change the stick is in the number 3

    and take it with 4

    2+2+1=5

  • I did 3+2-1=4

  • I did 3 + 2 - 1 = 4 as well ;)

  • ... so umm... he says "by only removing one match" and he moves it instead... if you ask me, just remove the match he moved, and walk around the table... from the side he's standing, it's correct, thus making the proper solution simply about perspective.

if he was using actual numbers, not lines, then we couldn't do that, but then his fake solution wouldn't work either.

  • I see here 3 sorts of people: those who CAN count en those who CAN'T!

  • 3+2-1=4 hahah i made anoyher

  • we can many things else

first 4(not equal 1-2+3)means we take the match that makes + between 1,2 and strike the equal to make it (not equal to) sign

second 5=(1+2+2) we take the match from the 3 and move it to the 4

  • 5=1+1+3

  • just take off one of the matches on the plus so its 3+2-1=4

  • @ThisIsFunnyFilms actually, we do math from the right to the left. So It would be 1+2-3=4 DX FAIL

  • theres another way lllll = l + l + lll

  • just move the 1 in 1111 and put on the equals, to make it not equals.

  • but then u throw a match away

  • no you move the match in the grp with 2 across the equals sign

  • umm. In the clip, there is 16 matches. In your solve there is 15.

  • No, in the solution there are 16 too. Learn too count.

  • @candycamaro u cant change place

  • does not say that... it says solve it moving just one match..

  • That was really stupid.

  • That was really easy to figure out. A better one is: VII=I (as in seven = one), and you can still only move one match. =D

  • At the beginning you said: "can you solve this math problem by only removing one match?", then for the solution you moved one instead of removing.

  • Comment removed

  • or just move one toothpick from the last three and put it with the four on other side or equal sign 5=1+2+2

  • @nickelswim123 thats what i was thinking

  • u said remove not move... i coulda got it right... maybe lol

  • lol

  • i hear remove as well, not moving

  • what you do is take the left most plus's vertical match, then look at the equation upside down (i.e. from the demonstrator's point of view), it will read as ||| + || - | = ||||

    which is 3 + 2 - 1 = 4

    = 5-1 = 4

    = 4 = 4

  • lllll=l+ll+ll

  • you didn't remove a match, you just replaced it.!!! try to remove 1 match in the plus sign at the left. to make it a minus sign.. thats the way!!!!

  • actauly u would get 2 instead of four then ^^ 1-2 = -1 + 3 = 2

  • @venarelijah i was just gonna comment the same then i saw yours

  • THERES MORE THAN 1 SOLUTION!

    I did I I I I I = I + I I + I I

  • nice

  • ?????? can you actauly do math?

  • i thoguht that as well

  • You can't change left of the equals sign... So no, you're wrong lol. It does equal 5 the way you did it, but it has to equal 4.

  • no this llll=l+l+l+l

  • this is the solutin IIIII =I+II+II

  • can t u take off the + into - so its lll+ll-l=llll

  • you can alsow do

    I I I I = I - I l + l l l

  • llll=l-l+ll

    thats another one

  • IIII=I+II+III (change first plus sign to a minus)

    IIII=I-II+III

    3+2=5-1=4

  • lllll = l+l+lll

    lllll = l+ll+ll

    llll = l+l+l+l

using not equal sign also gives a lot of possibilities

    ex.

    lll ≠ l+ll+lll

this is a very lame party trick for the mathematically inclined

  • dude u just take one of the matches from the 3 and this is what happens:

    | | | | | = | + | | + | | |

    (5=1+2+2)

I paused the video at 0:20. and figured it out pretty quickly.
