when dan quinn showed up a little bit late to notre dame, when he had a suit and gold shoes on, and was gonna show you his knockout sprinter speed, that made black kids from chicago pop like popcorn and made a grandpa in a truck say "thats the fastest thing ive ever seen white or black", trust and believe homie, you're gonna get your cock cut off in movies.
lou holtz, that time you jumped on tony rice like a little koala bear and ruined his spirit will be made famous in movies homeboy, when dan quinn becomes a billionaire trust and believe.
prob set the record for getting the most teams on probation too. most every school he coached at he left quickly before the NCAA cracked down on the infractions that he incurred there.
Lou: "Well, let's face it . . . WE SUCK! The entire country is laughing at us. We're an Irish joke. We just keep on losing, and we keep on boasting about some shit that happened nearly a hundred years ago. The only folks that like us are the Irish and the Catholics. That's about it. We load up our schedule with at least six creampuffs every year, so we can TRY to make it to a bowl game. Then we get BLOWN OUT because the other teams are so much better. Then it's time for the excuses. We are ND."
lou holtz! why couldn't i been around when he was coaching!? so far, as long as i've been living, we've had coaches who made it clear that losing isn't acceptable, but in the end, they're mediocre every year!
Actually, I'm not supposed to return and wage my unholy war with God until Notre Dame wins another Heisman and/or National Championship. Which I'm not planning on doing for the next few millenia.
yea so, i got my first nursing degree from there, plus i cant see usc football players maintaining a 3.4 gpa like all ND athletes do, doing actual tough classes not that ballroom dancing/rock climbing bullshit usc and other top teams football players do. i was on the 03-04 practice squad, even we had to maintain the 3.4 minimum. usc players that dont go pro end up at a gas station or mcdonalds, ours end up as teachers, docters, lawyers, contractors. but yea usc do kinda kickass in football.
PSS The best Fighting Irish player under Holtz and overall best WR in ND history dominated the superbowless chargers for many years all while wearing the silver and black. You will see him in canton next year.
I have a deep sense of hatred for the Irish, and I'm not really sure why. I'm not overly non-conforming, but I really think the reason I hate ND so much, is because everyone else seems to like them.... I guess bearing that in mind it would be difficult to explain why I am a Wolverine...
JB5goirish, you're wrong on one part of your comment. Coach Holtz didn't restore pride. He brought back winning to the ND program. Pride, dignity, honor and tradition will never be lacking at ND. I've gone to games all over this great nation but NOTHING and I meant NOTHING can compare to a football weekend at South Bend. Whether one is a ND fan or hater, no athleic program has the tradition and heritage of the Irish, everyone else is just pretenders.
If Charlie Weis can't get it done, Notre Dame should go after Skip Holtz. Skip Holtz has good coaching experience. If Skip came to Notre Dame and did well, it would be like the Thompsons at Georgetown all over again. Anyone agree with me?
I would say that would be a great idea, but let's not jump the gun too early. Charlie is an alumni, he understands whats expected, we'll be fine. Patience, that's what separates us from other schools.
I would, he turned more teams around to more success than any other coach. He took 6 teams to bowl games(record), 4 teams to finish in the top 20(record), is a helluva guy and has the best pep talks I have ever heard.

Agree to the nth power. Can make a case for Casper being the best NFL tight end ever, too. Just watch some old Raider game films, he's fearsome.
I have a feeling that Kelly is on the right track. If ND can get the kind of defensive secondary that Lou's teams had, the sky's the limit. Go Irish!
sealevelattitude 1 year ago
@sealevelattitude speaking of Raider-Irish connection. George Atkinson's twins both committed to Notre Dame.
I was hoping and praying Jon Gruden would of been the next Irish coach, but I like Kelly so far. He's everything Weis was not.
