The two Indian waiters at the end ... is the guy on the left ("White Cloud") the same guy from the 1970's "Crying Indian" PSA - "People start pollution, people can stop it"? Sure looks like the same guy.
Harry James was truly the "Young Man With A Horn." An inspiration to all us kids in the 30"s, he had it all in one package. I often wonder why Hollywood did not do "The Harry James Story" Harry James's beautiful sound, Betty Grables beautiful everthing, World War 2, The era of the Big Bands right into Vegas in the 50's what more do you need. I miss you Harry James!
Looked great and played the trumpet even better (than most!). Unique sound, amazing improvisational ability, great stylist and superb musician. Lino Varano
He was truly underateted in my opinion as a trumpeter if you could believe that, he belongs among the pantheon of the truly greats. As sound to die for, full of musicality, etc. etc. I LOVED his sound, the only one who beats this to me is later period Louis Armstrong songs, which so much nuance and emotion in them. No mircorphones here to this was when they had that energy in their sound. RIP Mr. James.
This is one of thee greatest intros for a vocalist, and such a spectacular song in it's entirety, So, why am I so mad? I don't get to see darling Helen! The lousy camera would never really land on her. Why did she have to walk down an long aisle while singing or have the camera zillions of feet from her? She was the greatest of them all and a totally lovely woman! Shame on you, old Hollywood! You really blew it!
This is one of THEE greatest intros for a vocalist ever, and such a magnificent song, BUT, I get soooooooooooooo MAD! Why did the camera NOT stay on Helen and her beautiful face??? Often in these old films she is barely seen on stage or has to walk down a long aisle to sing? What crap! She was the greatest of them all, and a living doll! Whatever, stupid Hollywood people of yore! SHAME ON YOU!

hollywood thought she was not pretty enough to have a close up shot just as simple as that.
isn't that stupid ,but that was the way they saw it before the camera lense .
she was so beautiful to me and her voice was angelic
thanks for putting up with me..

Thanks for posting - great Harry James tune. Isn't one of those Indians the same one who cried over littering in the 70s?
