y do i have random other memory on my itouch 4th gen, i have music apps games photos vids then other and its 1.6gb how do i get rid of that cause i dont know where its coming from

I updated my Itunes and my Iphone 4s still won't sync. I'm not seeing any "devices" list either. Can someone tell me what the hell im doing wrong?
