  • Hi Lark,

Thank you for your kind words.

The lettuce is: Nyman's - a red cos type. Lollo Rosso - a loose leaf non hearting type.

I suppose I use 'compost' generically - the lettuce bed I top up with the compost created in my compost bins.

The mixture in the containers is puchased from a gardening center and I mix it with some vermiculite and add some nutrients to it.

    Take care.

    Laurence

  • I totally enjoyed viewing all your raised beds and containers. You are an outstanding gardener. Could you share with me the soil mix you use in your container? It looks really nice. Did I hear you say you used compost for your lettuces? All compost...nothing mixed in? I couldn't understand the red lettuce names you mentioned. Could you please leave me a message on the names? Thank you. Smiles, Lark

  • I've been looking into starting a veg garden in my back yard and was just wondering will all these plants grow in yorkshire in the uk?

One bad thing is that my back garden is north facing and in shade most of the day and my front garden is tiny and is very easily accessible to others. :(
