I totally enjoyed viewing all your raised beds and containers. You are an outstanding gardener. Could you share with me the soil mix you use in your container? It looks really nice. Did I hear you say you used compost for your lettuces? All compost...nothing mixed in? I couldn't understand the red lettuce names you mentioned. Could you please leave me a message on the names? Thank you. Smiles, Lark
I enjoyed your tour very much! Thanks! But, how did you earn money just by showing it?? I'm curious. You may email an answer to me at elsbeth1540[at]gmail[doht]com, if you would be so kind.
I've been looking into starting a veg garden in my back yard and was just wondering will all these plants grow in yorkshire in the uk?
One bad thing is that my back garden is north facing and in shade most of the day and my front garden is tiny and is very easily accessible to others. :(
Wish I was your dinner guest, lol..what was that mushroom shaped bread?? Was that one of those ? pudding?? I forget what u call it...it all looked yummy and so neat that u raise your own food..u have a wonderful garden, very lovely.
mmmmmm ime coming for dinner thankyou..lol.. this is a beautiful garden you bothe have worked hard you are so lucky you have oodles of space xx a lovely film
Hi Lark,
Thank you for your kind words.
The lettuce is: Nyman's - a red cos type. Lollo Rosso - a loose leaf non hearting type.
I suppose I use 'compost' generically - the lettuce bed I top up with the compost created in my compost bins.
The mixture in the containers is puchased from a gardening center and I mix it with some vermiculite and add some nutrients to it.
Take care.
Laurence

Curious about what kind of soil you use to start your seeds? They seem to grow well in it.
