  • Nice interpretation!

  • Thanks for the comment :)

  • saw the horn dance at thaxted last year, it was very moving and played on the fiddle as the dancers came down the darkened street, if you have never seen it please go, it is very haunting.

  • I saw the dance many times growing up, and was in it a few times. I was born and raised in the USA. Funny how traditions carry over. Never heard it with the rhythm you used, interesting interpretation!

  • thanks for the comment.

I think its one of the oldest ritual dances still performed in England, The Antlers that are used for the dance in Abbots bromley itself are said to be the original set dating back many centuries and have never been taken outside the village.

  • Very, very nice playing. Our school does an annual play of St. George and the Dragon, and they do a version of the horn dance in it. The music is just lovely and haunting, and you do such a nice job of it!

  • Thankyou very much for the nice comment. I read somewhere that it is one of the oldest folk melodies in Europe. The town i grew up in in England (Tamworth) is about 15 miles from the village of Abbots Bromley, i never did get to see the annual dance.

  • This is great!! Beautiful tones and great playing 5+
