i can beat the first level faster. you can make that jump where you landed on the edge of the pipe and fell it just takes practice. also if you jump as high as you can right after the gap after the pipe you can h;it the goomba then keep going and jup again onto the blinking blocks i think and run off hitting the turtle. you can do this all in one smooth motion.

Its about time someone does a legit speed run for SMB. The rest of them are tool assisted which is obvious from watching them. As fa as recording gameplay through the nes. You could run it though your tuner card and record it with FRAPS or any recording software. Theres many to choose from.
