Great song but they have a bit of a stretch @1:22. Winfield Scott was a great general, but he was way past his prime and his service was mainly as a desk level general because of his advanced age. The other Union generals were determined to win, but they weren't particularly skilled.

@gobabygo90809 Porter's division did not contain any of the 11th Corps, Germans. What would become the 11th and 12th Corps had fought against Jackson in the Shenandoah Vally 1862 Vally Campaign.

Fitz John Porter did nothing wrong at 2nd Bull Run. Pope's orders were confusing and even Longstreet backed up Porter after the war. Not till 1878 did a military court finally find Porter, not guilty. But by then his reputation was ruined.
