Lars and James werent confident with Jason's Bass playing when they recorded the album since Cliff Died so they turned the bass down on the album

Personally i think that James and Lars have become tools, and the one ally they had (Jason ) left because he saw where the band and the individuals were going.

no, there is no bass on the album cause Metallica haed Jason at first so they cut out the bass from the whole album. I mean i LOVE Metallica but, that was a pretty dick-ish move.

Thats actually James's guitar because he has his bass knob cranked. If you listen to his jasons bass tracks isolated, they have a very distinct trebly tone. There are very few parts of the album where he is audible, and even then he is incredibly quiet.

Hey xoxo666, Metallica's bassists Rob and Jason both have used the 5th string. Its usually played when they are live, gives them the low end on some of the bass fills. I use it for creeping death...watch the video I have to see.
