  • IROC -Z's are beast ass fucking cars lol. so fun to drive and i miss the days of IROC racing, they just don't race like that these days.

  • 13.9 seems a little fishy. I can see that at maybe the 1000ft mark. But 1/4 mile? Not likely. I would say a 14.3, about a half second quicker than my all stock 1985 Z28 which ran 14.7 with the 700R4 auto. In case a few of you are wondering why they picked the 305 over the 350, its because of the 5 speed. I WISH GM would have had the balls to stick the T5 behind the 350. Then that 13.9 would not be doubted.

One more thing. Never will another ICONIC Camaro be made, that looks this good. IROCZ28

  • @TunedPortZ28 They must have been using a stop watch or something... Even an "ultra rare" 1LE (road racing package) 1989 or 1990 5.7 liter model could only run a mid to low 14 second 1/4 mile.... and the G92 optioned model (which is probably what this is) ran a mid 14 second time.

NedacFilms has a 1990 G92 optioned IROC that ran a 14.6 here on YouTube. (he also has a bunch of G92, 1LE and other 3rd Gen videos on here)

  • @SN95Project Yeah, but 13.9? Cmon... hardly no one else has a slip that says that time. I want to see it if you got it.

  • @TunedPortZ28 This 13.9 is unofficial. Even the fastest production 1990 1LE code IROC could only run a low 14 second time, and this isn't the 1LE model here because it has the fog-lights. The rare 1LE models didn't have fog-lights. This is probably a G92 code TPI 5-speed IROC which ran a mid 14.

I have tons of '80s IROC-Z and 5.0 Mustang history and info on my websites StreetShowDriftDrags(dot)com and Mustang-Town(dot)com

  • @TunedPortZ28 14.7 is damn good for a stock Tuned Port 1985 Z28. What gears from the factory are in it?

  • @NedacFilms 3.23 ratio - I actually sold it last month... Went back to the 5 liter mustangs. :)

  • @TunedPortZ28 Dang dude, you sound like you might be my twin...LOL!!! as many times as I flip back to and from TPI F-bodies and EFI Mustangs. So at the present time I have a G92 optioned 1990 IROC 5-speed and also have an SN95 platformed Mustang 5.0, so now its "what day will it be, Ford or GM"... as I love them equally! Check out my website, I think you will really find it interesting and relate.

  • @NedacFilms WOW! Most idiots dont realize that the GM car, gives a better ride and is smoother, and more controlled (so to speak) but the Mustangs...seem to sit you right in the midst of all the action! Coupled with a light ride that you can "drive freestyle" with - makes it a hoot to do some real driving with. I think the bottom line between these two cars is, how smart are you? The smartest of course being us, who knows its best to love both! I will check out the site - oh yeah!

  • 13 second 305 tuned port. Either a ringer or Bruce Allen was driving.

  • They used a 5.0 liter IROC instead of a 5.7 liter V8 IROC-Z??!! That was dumb.

  • One of my dream cars. Thanks for posting :)

  • Very cool, thanks for posting.
