Yeah, that spindle consumed itself. Once it starts slipping, they heat up really fast. It probably went quicker than slower. That's a nice zero turn, good stuff. Grease fitting on top is the only way to go, you look at them, you'll put grease on it. If its buried under the deck, it doesn't get done.
Ummmm, I am just a bit confused Ed.. It was not that long ago that YOU and Master Outside Guy replaced one of these on that same Deck? I remember that is was also $90.00.. So does this mean you should go ahead and plan on the 3rd one going out next? I do LIKE the Top side Grease Fittings. That is Much Easier.. Thanks for Sharing..
@vidman008 lol you are correct. I did replace the same one (different parts) this time. The spindle shaft was damaged, but we thought it was okay. I guess the little defects were too much and it self destructed. Hopefully we wont be doing this repair again!
@SuperDutyManiac Good memory! This is the same mower. I bought it from her when she moved. This was the same spindle we fixed too. There was some wear on the spindle teeth when we put it back together. It must have been too much and it vibrated it's self to death!
Nice catch and repair on the mower Ed :)
