this is my absolute FAVORITE MOVIE!!! I think what makes the movie so great is that each character is a little part of all of us. Who hasn't wanted to be carefree (lester) or obsessed with someone, (Ricky, Caroline) or felt put on a charade to be someone we're not (Angela) or wanted to feel young again, been thrilled that someone took notice of us, made a fool out of ourselves when we thought we looked so cool, etc. I feel a special connection to every main character in this film.

The casting of the gay couple is very interseting. One is Sam Goldwyn, who i believe is the son of Lauren Bacall and the dark haired one is from one of thso Star Trek type TV Shows.....Mena Suvari was great in this film as was Thora Birch. and what in hell do we make of the boy next doors Mother who appears to be comatose...There was a similiar Mother character in Muriel's Wedding...This is truly a classic movie

Scott Bakula was the other, he's anotehr actor of mine that I'm fond of. He used to play Sam Beckett on Quantum Leap before I was even born I believe, but I love the show anyway.
