Hello, Pianoman. There were absolutely no releases under the name of Nexus. Nexus was a hastily derived name which gave way to Made in U.S.A. as discussions with DeLite to sign the group became serious. We did gig under the Nexus name for a couple of months here and there. Freida, Tommy and Britt brought the band into the glint of regional fame with a signing to that peacock blue label shared then by only two other bands, Crown Heights and Cool and the Gang. Thanks for the post.
We started out practicing in Herb's basement in 1976, started gigging seriously July 4th weekend 1976 in Asbury Park, New Jersey, trading nights with a spin off band of 'Blue Magic' called 'Magic of the Blue.' We played gigs at the Cave in New York and the Beacon Theatre with Crown Heights Affair, Leone Thomas, Brass Construction, Alvin Ailey to name a few. What a time this era was. Made in U.S.A. started out with the name NEXUS then changed prior to signing on with DeLITE.
