nyprogressive, I understand the concern about witchcraft. I take it seriously, and I own the belief, knowing what it means. Palins beliefs are less clear. Btw, she was also called a "creationist" with just about no evidence. As for w.craft, lots of us wht guys loved Castenada, whose mentor advocated murder by means of "magic" corn. 1000s had their hearts ripped out in a more ordinary way on the ChacMool (Ch. Itza) in honor of the same demons. W.craft causes very real --not all -- human tragedy.

prahudka, a woman was driven out of town, and she was threatened with stoning, for the crime of being a non-Christian. Is that the kind of attitude we want associated with the White House? Is that what Sarah Palin's plan for America would be? Come on. Join the 21st century and step out of the Dark Ages. Witchcraft is NOT to blame for the world's problems.

Lets ask: Did Sarah Palin know about this threat of stoning? Or: Did Muthee advocate for or against stoning? Apparently a mob of (bad) Christians was involved. Who lead? The problem is with phrases such as "associated with". What does that mean? Was it too much for Palin to appreciate a man who had been kind to her? Admittedly, I am superficially on the Palin bandwagon, given the options, but I remain wary. You can vote against "superstitious" Christians, like me. But, on what evidence?

On the evidence, that, even according to web sites friendly toward Muthee, he threatened to drive her out of town if she did not convert to Christianity.  That's what his own followers say about Muthee - and they admit to the plans to submit the woman to stoning too. They're proud of it, prahudka.

Muthee said he would drive her out of town. Muthee, not Palin. The mob said stone her, not Muthee. Would you drive a "polluter" out of town? Question: who is worse, the polluter or the witch? How about someone who tortures animals? Drive them out of Westchester or NYC? You bet. How about someone who ritually slaughters animals (cruelly) as a witch? Drive them out? Hmmmm... Yes, Muthee may have been wrong to "drive her out". Maybe. Cant say. But Palin has no real "association" with that.

Actually, I have been in the company of a great number of very pleasant (but misguided) witches. In Africa, largely, the situation is different. A better example is perhaps the Caribean, where Santeria and voodoo are known issues. And, no need to quibble about wicca v. voodoo. We know they are different, but the point is that the "witch" in Africa could have been a lovely woman or a she-devil. The video here glosses over that lack of proof. My point: MAYBE she should have been run off.

Its not for you to decide who is misguided.Who is to say Christians are not misguided ? No church should be judging people and inciting the public to run them off.That is a courts job.They came very close to killing that woman .

Whether Christians are misguided is quite beside the point, except for your continuing inability to to distinguish your distaste for Christians from real evidence of Muthee's responsibility. No one is defending Christians generally. I keep challenging people like you to prove the case or stop alleging Muthee or Palin did something wrong.

Have a look at "transformations: a documentary" Muthee is in there briefly with a testimony. Now prove to me that the crime rate did not drop exponentially in Muthee's city. If it works, is it legit, or is the test whether it offends American sensibilities?

Raunchbear's sarcasm is appropriate and funny but there is a serious problem here. There are actually uneducated, superstitious people out there who believe in witches and demons and who would give Ms. Palin points for being on the side of the righteous. It's hard to believe that a person of average intelligence who got past the 4th or 5th grade could buy this crap but they exist in this country in huge numbers. No wonder these folks have a disdain for education.

Witches are accused of witchcraft not associations unless they're with "evil spirits." The fact is Sarah Palin supports a man who is proud of accusing a woman of witchcraft and driving her from her home by a violent mob HE incited.

As a percentage, very, very few Christians are dangerous people easily lead to violence. I am not sure what you are asaying or whether you wish to temper your language about Christians. If youtube is any kind of a sample, there is far more violence in the pro-witch crowd. The violent language is just overwhelming.
