Helicopter flight from Freetown to Lungi Airport

I was there 4 weeks ago and the hovercraft sank 2 days before I was due to go back to Lungi! GULP! That helicopter though is meant to be much better than the old ones which had drunk russian pilots apparently!

The Hover Craft did not sunk, It was severely burn during landing in abeedeen port, the right engine was caught on fire when they put fuel, and the helicopter was downed when the togolese player bet 1-0 vs. sierra leone on soccer game.

all 23 onboard died except one russian pilot jump and severly wounded.

Why man ? what's happened to the Helicopter Service ? and why did the Hovercraft stop ? it's been long since i left Freetown, so i don't have the latest news, can u feed me the news ? what happened ? thanks mate

Helicopter Service Grounded - 14/02/07

The helicopter shuttle service between Freetown and Lungi has been suspended till further notice. The operator, Paramount Airlines, is grounded. The hovercraft which also stopped months ago means that the only alternative method of transit left is the ferry, which can add at least 3hrs to the journey.

The ferry does not add 3 hours to your journey, and i know you said "which CAN add" and not "which will add". so i'm not attacking you or anything, just clearing stuff up. The ferry has it's set schedule, your best bet is arriving at least 45 mins before departure. and depending what part of town you were staying, the Ferry might be a lot closer to you than going to Aberdeen to catch the Hovercraft or the Helicopter.
