"The creation of a European para-military force, the EDF, adds to the growing list of bodies, agencies and forces spawned by the EU over which there is scant accountability, scrutiny, transparency or openness. Very nice, you've used The Beatles to throw scrumpled bits of paper at the No-campaign which they would definitely have supported. Okay, if your major political parties are so wonderful, why aren't they supporting democracy? You don't like socialists - at least those parties are in favour of democracy. I suppose Libertas is on your list of socialist parties. Severely retarded yes-generation - I'm not wasting more time on you.
The EU is supposed to be a grouping of sovereign countries working together but the Lisbon treaty/constitution will change all that and turn the EU into a legal entity that is SUPERIOR in law to sovereign countries, laws and constitutions !
The EU didn't even have the decency to ask us if we wanted to become EU "citizens"...apart from the French,Dutch and brave Irish who ALL SAID NO !
The Swedish presidency is already working on an EU-wide ban on alchohol in shops !
LOL LOL LOL. The lisbon treaty wants to create a super state like the USA which is probably the most fascist state in the world bar china! And yeah it doesn't have any solid arguments whatsoever only that the no side are a bunch of fanatics which is true about some of them but that's not the point is it? VOTE NO IF YOU BELIEVE IN DEMOCRACY!!
Still nothing positive from the yes side, because they simply do not have a case! All they can do is attack the NO side, which has a very good case. Say no more. Rather say NO to Lisbon.
i would love to know the genius that came up with the slogan "FOR A STRONGER VOICE IN EUROPE VOTE YES" Do they think that 0.08% is a strong vote. WAKE UP AND VOTE NO FOR ALL OUR SAKES.
" This referendum is not an Irish battle. It is a European battle fought on Irish soil between the peoples of Europe that support democracy and the elite of Europe that want an empire"
(Roger Cole,PANA).
Here in Germany people were denied a say but we also want to keep our own CONSTITUTION and do not want OUR LAWS to originate from an un-elected commission of rich foreigners in Brussels !
Ireland,PLEASE VOTE NO (again) and save democracy in Europe for all our children !
People who oppose the Lisbon treaty. What about France Holland and most of Europe who didnt get a vote . This Treaty is a scam controlled by a global elite with a global agenda . Stop this "Self amending Treaty" VOTE NO IF YOU DONT KNOW
DEATH TO LISBON !! Now for the NEW Treaty. Since we've been fucked around by Cowen, Bertie, and the boyos for some time now with Nice and Lisbon I want a new treaty. And I want it negotiated with the EU Heads of State here in Ireland. We'll hold the talks in Darndale. Frankly I believe the denizens of Darndale will do a better job negotiating the treaty than the gremlins in Leinster house. It shall be called "The Darndale Treaty". I'd say we'd get a pretty high YES vote too ! Anyway VOTE NO !!!
I notice the 'Fight the liees' page only tackles posters and points made by groups like COIR. There is no rebuttal to the socialist parties point. I think you may be overestimating peoples belief in the stuff propagated by COIR and underestimating the sensible left arguments.
You know they've lost the argument when they have to rely on argumentum ad hominem. By the way, that doctored picture of Trotsky at 0:28 was produced by and used by the nazis in their propaganda also.
"Propagandists use the name-calling technique to incite fears and arouse prejudices with the intent that invoked fear based on fearmongering tactics will encourage those that read, see or hear propaganda to construct a negative opinion about a person, group, or set of beliefs or ideas that the propagandist would wish the recipients to denounce. The method is intended to provoke conclusions and actions about a matter apart from an impartial examinations of the facts of the matter."

God, i'm so glad im not like one of those crazy NO voters. It's great to be a YES voter. You get to be in the same group as all the smart people of Europe. That way, as long as you do what they do you dont have to worry about getting anything wrong.
@jimberkt Conform, conform, conform, you will make a great individualistic thinker in the years ahead, just the type of creativity we need to get us out of this mess. It is comments like yours that convince people to vote NO.
Inform yourself of the interests of a YES generated by Pat Cox and Brigid Laffan.. wo do they represent and this b*****cks spouted by supposed 'scienticians' borders on the slanderous! The majority of the 26 county electorate voted no and the 6 county electorate were denied a vote! This is EU and democracy.. end this crap about being at the 'heart of Europe' or what the CFR and 'guarantees being appendaged on will achieve a militarised superstate with Free Staters selling off our sovereignty!

Excellent video. The lies of COIR and Youth Defence already ridiculed. How can so called Socialists like Joe Higgins stand side by side with them.
In the meantime the rabid British eurosceptics UKIP - who used the Irish flag as a beermat now have allies in Sinn Fein!
A weird combination.
Vote yes for a more democratic Europe, Ireland - ignore the narrow minded isolationism of the kind that cost the lives of millions in the last century..
Hi all. Please Google: "The Sovereign Independent" and go to the website and have a read if undecided about the upcoming Lisbon Treaty referendum. Its very informative and easy to understand.Thanks.
Search for Vaklav Klaus stands up for Freedom. The Czech president warns for an upcoming fasicst Europe!! So do Nigel Farage and Jens-Peter Bonde.
EU becoming a Federal state, plus centralised, undemocratic decision making.. that makes it a totalitarian superstate. Vote NO please Ireland. You are voting for half a billion people.
They tried to get the treaty through behind our backs. Fortunately Ireland was allowed a referendum and thank God you said NO. Now they just send you back because they need their Yes.
Federal + undemocratic + centralisation = totalitarianism.
the ducth said no and the french said no to the Con, but funny 27million other people voted yes and 24million voted no, that sound like democracy 2 u??? P.S the con was is different to the the treaty!
"Federal + undemocratic + centralisation = totalitarianism" oh good cause lisbon makes the EU MORE democratic by giving the EU parl more power, is not a federal treaty in any sense and actaully decentralises the EU by gicing more power to the national Govs = Vote YES to fight totalitarism
The "faces of no" are the faces of the majority vote of the irish people. It is a disgrace that this will be put to another referendum whithout adequate changes being made to the "new lisbon".
This treaty is the first step towards the United States of Europe U.S.E. and a big one at that. You say that the decision to form a common defence will have to be put to a referendum, this offers no peace of mind as it will just be put to several referendums until the government gets the answer they want.
This is nothing but a smear campaign, attempting to link the no vote to political parties.
The parties don't matter. The people will vote no again, I will not be bullied into voting yes. Your false grassroots propaganda will not manipulate me or anyone who can think for themselves.
All the propaganda for the yes vote is coming from the establishment and huge companies like ryanair.
"Can you trust these people??" Eh hello! The Irish government that is bailing out the banks via NAMA, has brought us into economic catastrophe that ordinary people are paying the price for, is telling us to vote 'Yes'. Can we trust them!? Sure we can!!
Trust the opposition partys the civic groups. theres countless of them
Ireland for europe, women for europe, the professional groups that support lisbon, michael o leary,
the treaty is a fantastic document, its contents will win in the end but 1st we have to disply the myths and lies. when i talk to people i fight there preceptions and then give them the valid reason to vote YES!!
Yes 2 lisbon for democracy, rights, trade, peace and international system!
lol too late ! all gone to Poland , dell was doomed the moment the government reran the nice treaty ! half my friend were put out of work by our friends from the east brought here to undercut Irish workers rights ! rights that took decades of struggle by the workers to achieve !
vote yes and get 2 more years of fianna fail , and 90 billion euro of nama debt !
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
were u getting thsoe stats??
dell is still here, its shedding a LARGE amount of jobs but its still present and waiting to rehire if ireland ever gets its act 2gether!!
Lisbon improves workers rights, any polish workers that arrive here HAVE to be paid at least the Min wage, dispite wot coir say. wot u r not saying is that thousands of irish people work all over the EU "undercutting" those peoples jops!
2 yrs ago , dell brought hundreds of trainees over to limerick , while they were here dell was giving them 2.50 an hour and dinner vouchers in the canteen ! what i am saying is that workers rights are being shat upon all over europe and lisbon wont change that , not 1 bit . mr cowen doesn't even have a mandate from the people , if there was an election tomorrow , fianna failure would be destroyed !
"vote no to lisbon and no to NAMA ! " th two r NOT linked!!!
well untill they do have a general election then they have the democractic mandate,
would u say they still didnt have the Dem mandate if all of a sudden 2morrow ever1 loved them??? we are a flickle people thats why people r in power fora set date or till they fall aprt from inside. otherwise we would have a diff gov every 2 weeks.
They cannot blame the 1st no vote against LT was the couse of the current economic downturn, and I personally dont believe a yes vote would change it single handed. But, saying "a 2nd no vote will put this country at risk" and "we have to vote yes" are just not rational. Give us the reason, give us the full picture. I had a chat with one of my Irish friend today & asked him what will be his vote, he said:" I guess I have to vote yes this time!", "I have to"?WHY?, he is afraid....that's Wrong.
I have seen the new Yes campaign posters up around Dublin and they carry the theme that we should vote Yes to stay in Europe.
Last time I checked, the Lisbon Treaty wasn't about Ireland staying or leaving the EU, but that's a nice trick by the Yes campaign to make people freak out amid a climate of economic uncertainity and recession that we have to vote Yes or we will get kicked out of the EU.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
agree and disagree, we need to get the full picture out but the economy also plays a major part,
for instance ireland is promoted aboard as the "gateway to europe" so MNCs put money in put irish people in cahrge and then forget aobut it. then all of a sudden they see on the news ireland rejects lsibon/europe and there like WTF?? and get worried aobut there money.
soon the benifits of lsibon will get out, i wrote asmall lsit below if u can find it
Hi guys, I'm a Chinese who has been living in this country for over 10 years. Here is what I think. Althought I dont get to vote but I dont think the Irish gov is doing enough to inform the people on this matter. I'm not suggesting a yes or no vote but I do suggest the gov should provide a hardcopy of the LT to every household so that people can fully understand it and then make up their mind. What the Irish gov doing at moment is WRONG.
Total cowardice tbh. Is this a final attempt to try an influence voters into voting Yes since you cannot influence them on the Treaty contents? Absolutely pathetic...
This video is a cheap, low grade, uninformed and an unconvincing slur tactic... a pure and obvious dirty trick campaign.
Is this the best you can do to plead with Irish people to sign away their Independence to a bunch of sinister and devious crooks whose aim is to dismantle the national identities of Old European nations??
hmm u seem not to be one fo the crazy NWO people/conscription/coir people, can i ask why you will be voting no??? and maybe i can convice u to vote yes or maybe vice verus
Wish I could go into detail but I have strong convictions. I feel the EU has gone far enough as a project, some reform is definetly needed, but the power that this treaty would hand the EU parliament is too much.
Jesus christ, the Dail in Dublin is fairly unaccountable as it is, imagine what these guys 2,000 km away in Brussels will be like?
so keeping power in the hands of the un-elected commssion is a better alternative than giving power to democraticaly elected MEPS?? that doesnt make sense if u r saying "yes to a democratic Europe"
Also lisbon gives more power to the National Govs so it nots a centralisation treaty.
Wont get into the dail debate thats a national issue :)
thats cause, giving the parl the power of Int it would be dangerously close to federal state.
the economic block was great but the political union has brought fantastic benifits aswell and it needs to continue, up 2 a limit of course im not a federalist
here it is again people trying to strike back at the GOV by voting no, its a retarded idea, even opposition partys r saying dont vote NO in anger agsint FF,
Protect the jobs in intel, dell, Pfizers etc
The 1st Refrenedum was respected, there is nothign wrong with going back 2 th irish people with a diff treaty. its been done a # of timse be4 with marriage aboration and divorce and they were the same proposal each time, lisbon 2.0 has changed to match the irish concerns E.G the commisoner
I'm voting no because I feel the treaty is not in Ireland's interest. I'm not a member of any of these group.
This video is shite cos it misses a major point - I don't vote yes cos the political elite tells me to and therefore I won't vote no cos any of the groups mentioned here tell me to either.
Anyway so what if they have a certain political outooks. Surely everybody on the Yes side can't be whiter than white either (or even like each other). Brutal attempt for the politicals to act cool.
I don't like the video but at least it's all pretty accurate.
And durksy its been a while since I've done maths but in the last Lisbon vote there was a 54% No vote out of a 50 odd % turnout. So that would mean that 25%(ish) of the electorate voted No which is nowhere hear the 'majority'. Are the No side incapable of telling the truth?
Bet you were not saying that when Nice II was passed nor would you say it if Lisbon II is passed by 25% of the electorate. It is nothing more than selective use of facts. More people voted in the Lisbon treaty than in Nice II so you're argument does not ring true.
GenY is independent of the political partys. it spans all political partys and spans none at the same time.
Im in it and im nto a member of any party, my 3 mates r in it, 1 is a FG fanatic, the other a passive FF supportor and the other is head of labour in college.
we r not puppets of any1, GenY is aobut giving young people a platform to speak about lisbon and its benifits to ireland and 2 the young people of ireland in particular!
Gen Yes are just puppets of the establishment. You are not an independent youth movement like ye claim, ye were founded by a 73 year old man called Brendan Halligan.
You forgot to mention the biggest No grouping of all - The Majority of the Irish Electorate! They are not affiliated with any party, yet feel that this treaty is an undemocratic step in the wrong direction for Ireland and Europe. That was and still is the main concern that the Irish people have, a concern that the political elite have ignored.
Still doesn't really explain the treaty though just rubbishes the claims of some crazy no siders. Also yes campaigners talk about how the treaty will help economic recovery and if we vote no again we could be cut off from Europe bith completely false. There are lies on both sides, try read up and vote how you feel is right.
i agree, but it is a FACT if we vote no the economy will be affected in a negative way.
The MNCs in ireland want to stay but when trying to conivce there HQ's back in the US,India,Japan etc they have found it hard to conivce them that ireland while saying no to lisbon r still saying yes to europe.
Irish people belive in europe but the NO vote sends the perception that we are moving away from europe! which affects FDI
Gerry Adam's is a member of a foreign parliament anyway! He knows nothing about the day to day running of Ireland.

No2Lisbon2 !

I had a chat with one of my Irish friend today & asked him what will be his vote, he said:" I guess I have to vote yes this time!", "I have to"?WHY?, he is afraid....that's Wrong.
chuieoi 2 years ago
I have seen the new Yes campaign posters up around Dublin and they carry the theme that we should vote Yes to stay in Europe.
Last time I checked, the Lisbon Treaty wasn't about Ireland staying or leaving the EU, but that's a nice trick by the Yes campaign to make people freak out amid a climate of economic uncertainity and recession that we have to vote Yes or we will get kicked out of the EU.

agree and disagree, we need to get the full picture out but the economy also plays a major part,
for instance ireland is promoted aboard as the "gateway to europe" so MNCs put money in put irish people in cahrge and then forget aobut it. then all of a sudden they see on the news ireland rejects lsibon/europe and there like WTF?? and get worried aobut there money.
soon the benifits of lsibon will get out, i wrote asmall lsit below if u can find it

I say No to Lisbon. Yes to a Democratic Europe.
Kieran84ire 2 years ago
so keeping power in the hands of the un-elected commssion is a better alternative than giving power to democraticaly elected MEPS?? that doesnt make sense if u r saying "yes to a democratic Europe"
Also lisbon gives more power to the National Govs so it nots a centralisation treaty.
Wont get into the dail debate thats a national issue :)
Soliloquy657 2 years ago
It's a sad fact of the EU that saying that by ratify we are making the it more democratic. Wasn't it supposed to be democratic in the first place?
I say get rid of the commission altogether. The EU needs to return to its original purpose as a trading block, not a silly superstate.

And durksy its been a while since I've done maths but in the last Lisbon vote there was a 54% No vote out of a 50 odd % turnout. So that would mean that 25%(ish) of the electorate voted No which is nowhere hear the 'majority'. Are the No side incapable of telling the truth?
meglome 2 years ago
Bet you were not saying that when Nice II was passed nor would you say it if Lisbon II is passed by 25% of the electorate. It is nothing more than selective use of facts. More people voted in the Lisbon treaty than in Nice II so you're argument does not ring true.
