AURYTE I was there!!! It's almost time for wahine volleyball again just 3 more months. I can't wait to see them in action. Football starts up around the same time as well, too bad we got USC as our first opponent and i hate to say it but we're probably gonna get our asses kicked. I hope UH at least makes the spread but i doubt they will.

I'm an SC fan and this match is so hard to watch! and seriously, poor USC keeps getting Hawaii in the tournament ... except 2007 when SC went to the final four and UH got eliminated by ... middle tennessee state? haha (ps i love UH, especially kanani and aneli and kanoe and the illustres and willoughby and lily and ... susie boogard. Looking forward to more Brittany Hewitt!

Texas will certainly be a heck of a team next year, but NEVER underestimate a Hawaii team at Home especially with the Hawaii faithful by its side. Thats why WE PLAY THE GAME!!! Good luck to the lady horns.

Thanks ng for posting these videos! One request, would you have the match between Hawaii and Georgia Tech? I do believe it was both Willoughby's and Kahumoku's senior year and it was a 5 gamer as well a sub-regional match played in Hawaii. It was also the year Hawaii went on to play Nebraska at Nebraska.

It was 2003 Region Final. I had to google the info, since I couldn't remember what year Willoughby was a senior. All I remember was it went 5, and it was do or die for the seniors on the team. Google reminded me that Willoughby tallied 35 kills in that match.

You're right. I thought it went 5 games, especially when Willoughby blasted 35 kills and clipping .394, not to mention, NCAA stated she was averaging 7.5 kills per game during the Regional Finals.

there is none, unless "middle hitter" is being used to refer an outside hitter or rightside hitter that is attacking in the middle of the court.

but generally they are used interchangeably, maybe with an emphasis on defense for "blocker" and offense for "hitter"
