  • Call the police habs

  • Caps fans are so blind and are so bent on defending their precious ovie that they'll make up anything to say he scored. it has NOTHING to do with Gill. It has to do with Ovie pushing gill into Price, which is goalie interference. Do you actually watch the video or do you go straight to bullshitting in the comments? It was the right call and it's old news. get the hell over it.

  • this guy is an android, he's not human.

    stf pierre,

  • Lol ovie just plows through Gill

  • That's interference against Gill. No goal. Truth hurts, Caps fans.

  • @raran44 Gill was clearly playing the puck when Ovie crushed him, that was a perfectly legal hit, and a bad call by the officials.

  • @Madistrophic yes but he pushed gill into price, thus GOALIE interference. quit being so sore.

  • @raran44 *against Price

  • That was sick.. it should have been a goal

  • I don't know if they ended up calling the goal, but it should have been denied.

He knocked Gill on the goalie. Inb4 goalie interference.

  • @3927Kronos it was not a goal

  • @3927Kronos If Price was on the ground, the puck would not have went under him.......

  • @3927Kronos By the official wording of the rule it doesn't matter if Gill hits him, intentionally or not. It's only if an "attacking" player hits the goalie, and Gill was a "defending" player. Should've been called a good goal.

  • i love how knuble was still trying to push it in after it was in the goal for so long hahaha

  • its like chernobyl jizzed in gills face

  • Wow this announcer just loves Ovechkin's jizz.

  • i love how all the dumbass fans in montreal were throwing their hands up for a penalty at the bottom of the screen even though the hit was clearly clean and the puck was clearly at gills feet.

  • @hockeyyismylife - oooh trash talk. I'll leave the online fighting to people who think Hal Gill is one of the most solid defensemen on the planet.... It can't be a puck battle if one guy doesn't know the puck is there, what's he battling for? I'm sure you'll reply with trash talk if you can find time between you're multiplication times tables homework and hanging that Ovechkin poster in your bedroom.

  • The puck being at your feet is not considered to be possession...

  • @seward04 actually it is. just because you don't know the puck is at your feet doesn't mean you can't be touched. it's a physical game and if you lack awareness, like hal gill, you will end up on your ass.

  • @cocksfan10 Actually... it's not. That's a penalty. possession is when the puck is under control by the player. If the player is not under control of the puck, then they don't have possession, if they don't have possession then they cannot be hit legally.

  • @seward04 so if the puck's at your feet and you stand around it I can't hit you?

  • @Wes58986 seriously. tell me what penalty that is? for real. thrall me with your knowledge of the mystic penalty that has never been called in the history of the nhl for hitting a player who whiffed on a clearing attempt, lost the puck at his legs, and got destroyed by arguably one of the best hitters in the league, factually one of the top 5 hitters in the league. seriously? commentators wouldnt say "i don't know how they can not rule it a goal" if it was a penalty.

  • @hockeyyismylife ... I was saying that it's not a penalty

  • @seward04 it's called a puck battle. read the entire fucking rulebook, if you read it at all, (which you didn't) before you start spewing garbage bullshit ass lies on threads about the nhl rulebook. its called a puck battle. do you REALLY think the nhl condones players to take their sweet ass time finding the puck between their feet or do you think they like earth-shattering clean hits to the most solid defensemen on the planet because its exciting, legal, and how the game has always been?

  • What would the penalty be?

  • Nice hit too bad it's a penalty.

  • @nydwarf1 go on...

  • this isnt even as close to as bad as flyers goal number 2 in flyers capitals game 7 and this one was waved off and the flyers goal in the playoffs counted! for one ov nails a tool with the puck at his feet and the flyer player just pushes a guy into the goalie and then another flyer scored. i dont know why its called against the Caps in the regular season then always called for the opposition in the Playoffs. it boggles the mind

  • Rule 69.1 Goaltender interference- If a defending player has been pushed, shoved, or fouled by an attacking player so as to cause the defending player to come into contact with his own goalkeeper, such contact shall be deemed contact initiated by the attacking player for purposes of this rule, and if necessary a penalty assessed to the attacking player and if a goal is scored it would be disallowed.

  • @Kartracer6 ovechkin didn't push, shove or foul

  • @AlexOvie8jr your kidding right? It's 100 percent clear as day Ovechkin nails Gill into the goalie. 0:06. I can't even begin to wonder how you can think Ovi didn't hit him.

  • @AlexOvie8jr a body check is a shove or push.

  • his right ^

  • i remember that

  • that right there is why i love ovechkin, fucking unbelievable

  • He left his feet

  • @Lewis2931 you can leave your feet after you've made contact your just not allowed to jump into somebody which he clearly didnt do.

  • Ovechkin is gay

  • @clandenoob

    sry dude wrong vid

if u looking 4 gaypartnership visit the homepage of your two daddys

  • Theres a shockwave coming offf them when they hit

  • @videoquebec93 try to stop the puck when chara takes a 104 m/h slapshot. just cause it would be hard does it mean it shouldnt count? ovi never touched the goalie, he hit a player who had the puck in his feet and since gill is 6'6 he fell into his own goalie (not ovechkins fault) and the puck went in. if gill couldve stood him up then there wouldnt be this problem

  • @gasech15 From what I can see, Ovie pushed Price into his own net after the initial hit on Gill ; which is illegal because it's ruled goaltender intereference. Knocking Gill into his own goaltender wouldn't have been a problem. That's just my opinion.

  • @timmyVII Ovechkin does NOT push price anywhere, a clean hit on gill for being stupid and having his head down plus the biggest part of this call. THE PUCK IS LOOSE, and PRICE IS AT THE TOP OF THE CREASE its not like a player came into the crease to interfere with price. price being aggressive and gill being stupid shouldnt mean that ovi doesnt get a goal from his team for a great play.

  • Let's face it. Gill sucks.. A LOT.

  • that was a prefectly clean hit and the goal shouldve counted! i dont know wat u guys r talking about cause he hit gill straight in the chest and knocked the big panzy down!

  • @gasech15 Try to stopped the puck if you`r the goaltender when someone hit your defender in your face.

  • beast

  • @theroc5851

"HE WAS FACING OVECHKIN therefore he should have seen him coming"

open your eyes retard, he had just did a 180.

as blind as you are, you're in no position to criticize professional players about their awareness of whats going on.

    what an idiot.

  • Lame play by Gill

  • @theroc5851 finally someone that i can agree with!!!

  • ummmmm... it wan't a goal

  • @Canada9990 hows that not a goal? the puck was never covered. it slid right under the goalie the whole time it never stopped...cmon

  • @theroc5851 ovechkins dirtier than a slut

  • Gill had his head down if you watch closely.

If anybody here plays hitting hockey, you get caught with your head down, youll wake up in the hospital.

    Good hit tho.

  • @magikkalpickels well at leat u can prepare 4 the hit

  • this should have been a goal.

  • great play, wasn't a goal though

  • cheaoest gaol

  • ovi rapes

  • Damn!

    Nice !!

  • WHAM

  • Wow, the announcer at the end, I don't know how they could not call it a goal....Well guess what they did, and buttfucked all of Capitals nation and screwed us. Thanks bill Mcreary.

  • look who won the series. and look who jumped 2ft in the air.

  • how is it goalie interference.defender had the puck but ao just leveled him and its his fault for not being ready for the hit

  • holy s***

  • should have been a fucking goal.

  • @hockeyyismylife seriously this was the game where the streak was broken and it was because of this play like wtf really. this is a fucking goal.

  • Good clean hit. Ovie shot the rebound, before he hit Gill. Definitely a goal.

  • @LANMANLtd

When exactly does he hit the rebound???

  • @slashtrash101 Funny, but I was wondering the exact same thing myself...

  • As I've said before Ovi can only hit pp who aren't looking. He'll never win a ring cause he's a poor sport/cry baby.

  • @devrobbiz He gets shit done. Stop crying.

  • @VenseVermillion me stop crying? you should probably tell Ovi that. Yeah he gets $hit done in the regular season and is one of the best players in the league, but doesn't elevate his game in the playoffs and has poor sportsmanship.

  • @devrobbiz what a terrible argument. "ovi can only hit pp who aren't looking"...first of all, your wrong, second of all, so what if he did? I'd say the majority of the hits in hockey are on people who aren't looking. Those are the ones that make the highlight reel anyway. Why do you think announcers always say "Keep your head up", so they don't get hit durr.

  • @WhiskeyTango12 terrible argument? no. Over-exaggeration...maybe. I'm right, he's a dirty player/hitter, I'm not saying he's the dirtiest player in the NHL just that he does more dirty plays than the average player. You saying, "The majority of hits in hockey are on people aren't looking", is laughable...you should rethink that statement.

  • @devrobbiz i'm going to guess you have never played competitive hockey in your life. I'm talking at a decent level of play not your local men's league. But that is what your taught from a young age in hockey KEEP YOUR HEAD ON A SWIVEL. If your head is down, you will get slammed. Players look for it. So to sum it up, you're a tard and need to learn hockey.

  • @keyrabuns69 I've played at a higher level then you, you should probably get a pen and paper and listen cause you obviously have no clue what you are talking about, you possess no more knowledge of hockey than a 6 yr old. Everyone knows to keep their head up in hockey, 6 yr olds know that, your not "enlighting" anyone by saying it, it is obvious. You said "the majority of hits in hockey are on people ho aren't looking" which is utterly and completely false, grow up. Your stupidity amazes me.

  • @devrobbiz actually i never said that you fucking idiot. Whiskeytango12 said that. You must of had your head down to much and got your shit knocked around to not follow simple text on youtube. Your a douche, good day.

  • @keyrabuns69 oh crap I made another person cry on youtube, I hope your mommy was close by to give you a hug. Just because your a fuktard doesn't mean you have to take it out on me. Quite your crying and grow up...I won't tell you to get out of your parents basement cause that would take a miracle, you have a better chance of learning about hockey, since right now your at the level of a 6 yr old.

  • @devrobbiz your posts are funny. How did you make me cry? You made me laugh by being a dumb ass. What don't you understand? Go ahead mis-quote me with someone else more please. That one made me laugh real hard, er...cry i mean. It just show's all the others how dumb you are. Just a question though, are there any players in the NHL that you have played against growing up? So we have concluded that A) you can't read and B) you don't know hockey. What else would you like to prove to us readers?

  • @keyrabuns69 You definitely have some twisted logic, but I'm sure that comes from the school system where "everyone has an opinion and everyone is right", no matter how stupid it is. Your the douche, you joined a conversation that was already going on and didn't add anything to it, any 6 yr old could have replied with what you wrote. It's funny/sad you come across as the average tough guy on youtube throwing out insults and not conversing. Stop being a fuktard and growup or learn hockey.

  • @keyrabuns69 (2nd reply that means read below first if that isn't to hard for you). To reiterate: I said Ovi is sometimes a dirty player, I said the majority of hits in the NHL players see coming and prepare for them. Then YOU came in misreading everything, insulted me, and said, "KEEP YOUR HEAD ON A SWIVEL" which EVERYBODY alrdy knows and I never said anything to the contrary. If your going to join a convo it helps to actually read up on it and not spew shit everywhere.

  • yea, who go the last laugh here?

    timaigh.. heheh whatever.

    Rock the Red..er..green! Fore!

  • its not a cheap shot when your looking at the ground while the puck is there. its called a stupid decision by the one receiving the hit.

  • Gill was looking on the ground ovi like to do those cheap shot as well

  • That was pretty funny, Washington scored most of their goals by crashing the net and they still lost. Pretty pathetic Washington.Pretty Pathetic.

  • That should have been a goal.

Hal Gill is a wuss and he sucks.

Why did my Habs ever sign that pylon?

  • @timaigh You do realize Gill is one of the best Defence we got on the team atm in the playoffs? He blocks shots like crazy and plays extremly well.

He got 3rd star of the game twice in this first round for fucks sake.

  • @MasterMecha If he's one of the best defense we got, then we need better defefnsemen. He's a lug and too slow. The season is 82 games long and he only has a few good games a year.

  • @timaigh Thanks for proving you know nothing about the habs. You do realize Habs had the most experienced defence out of the 16 teams in the playoffs? We limited the Caps to 3 goals in 140 something shots. Caps were the best damn scoring team in the whole league by ALOT. Just in game 7, we blocked 41 shots, as many as Halak did.

Just this last game, Hal Gill was named 3rd star of the game. You know nothing.

  • @MasterMecha Are you kidding? You're saying the habs are deeper than the wings defensively? Fuck off man. Lidstrom is the most experienced defenseman in the league right now. Maybe Rob Blake, but at least Lidstrom is still playing well. I'm sorry dude, I love the habs, but you can't say they have the most experienced D. Gil is a joke and he's wearing an A. He's slow as fuck, has no game sense, but a long reach. That's Hal Gil in a nutshell. The Habs did a great job to win this series tho.

  • @MasterMecha ok thanks knucklehead, you must be the self appointed expert on the Habs. Halak limited the Caps to 3 goals in 134 shots. Now crawl back under your rock.

  • This cost him the rocket

  • NO GOAL !

  • It was a crime to disallow that goal. That was amazing! The league could have used it for years in promotional highlight to grow interest. I watched it live and the refs never gave an explanation and the Caps list that one by one goal. A disgrace!

  • that was a good hit, but it is the right call to say no goal.

  • @shanimal47 how???

  • Isn't goalie interference when someone gets pushed into the goalie? whatever nice CLEAN hit.

  • The goal did not count, I watched the game.

  • watch "Flyers @ Capitals 4/22/08 Game 7" and view the goal 2:30 At the time the NHL explained that it was a puck battle and the d-man lost it and his actions afterwards did not impact the goal, Explain the difference please.

  • canada hockey fans are booing, they dont approve of physical hockey.

  • ya but im a habs fan and i watched the whole game and he didn't score

  • How did he jump? He leaned, like anyone who is trying for a big hit on an even bigger player. You're an idiot.

  • "How can they not rule this a goal?" ...Very easily. The hit was a good solid hit, no doubt about it, but Ovechkin was in the crease, all of him, on top of Gill and Price, before the puck crossed the goal line. Price being in a dog pile created by Ovechkin, created goaltender interference. Not only should the goal not been allowed, Ovechkin should have ended up in the penalty box

  • @jackfrostCA umm bro theres a 3 second rule for crease violations. that was two seconds. and anyways the canadiens had possetion of the puck, it isnt a rule but its one of those things they take into consideration

  • Goal is legit. Ovie plowed him. Reason why he got fucking plowed is because he was standing still. Bring on the hate Canadian fans.

  • @Deso4life : rule of interference. if you push a goalie, or push someone onto a goalie creating, you guessed it, interference, rule is, no goal. because you not letting the goalie due his job. contrary to screening.

Read the god damn rulebook before posting dumb shit.

  • ovie likes dick

  • im a canadiens fan it was not a goal

  • @anthonyak99 it should have been just because the canadiens suck giraffe dick

  • this was soo a goal!

  • Pierre Mcguire is an ANDROID

  • It was a goal. Gill had a play on the puck which made the hit legal and the goal legit

  • @UWBADGER13 it obviously wasn't why it was still 4-2..GO HABS GO

  • ...and the net didn't move, and gill was playing the puck . . . . . . too bad it didn't happen though

  • Alright, I can respect that. I do see how that is sounding like I'm trying to talk physics. Just the way I worded it. I understand how if I was making a partially wrong statement there. Obviously I just needed to elaborate where the force came from. Next time how bout we just leave it at, Ovechkin rocked Gill? haha

  • Who gives a damn if he leaves his feet ..it's hockey...he didn't go airborne. You all sound like a bunch nerdy dorks. It was a devastating hit in the heat a battle and OV is a warrior!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:56

Oh, I don't know Pierre. Maybe because OV plowed Gill into the net?

  • LOL @ the hockey 919 ..ill demonstrate. u be gill ill be ovechkin hahah nice

  • Every year the refs get worse and worse. It's absolutely unbelievable.

Take the bruins game in Tampa the other day for example. It was 5-0, But a few bullshit calls from the refs turned it 5-4.

That was by the way a text book hit.

  • I just can't get enough of watching that big pussy Hal Gill get his ass handed to him. Too bad the retard refs disallowed the goal.

  • haha, Ovie is showing that a good check in the crease is not solely a canadian thing. Too pity it was disallowed, but good clean hit nevertheless.

  • Ови молодца! Показал, как нужно до самого конца бороться на "пятачке". Не без доли везения, конечно :)

  • I cannot believe that Ovechkin did not get a charging call. For pete's sake, he skated in from the center line (more than three strides), left his feet, to hammer Gill in the head. The refs have to call that.

  • Nah, that's just Ovechkin's "passion" for the game.

  • @FishMontana1 he did leave his feet, but he didnt take any steps, he was gliding into the hit. but yes it definatly should have been a call

  • dude that's called hockey. 1st of all charging is rarely called now in the NHL, and 2nd of all he doesn't take any strides from the blue line in, and he puts his shoulder right into Gill's chest. That's just a good hit. And he barely left his feet, no ref in the NHL is going to call charging on that

  • are you blind? OR jus don't know the rules.... it's a penalty when you take 3 strides withing 10 feet of the hit.... Ovechkin didn't even take ONE stride within prolly 20 feet... an he hits gill in the chest.... this should've been a goal... you're tellin me OV's head on the back of the goalie's ass was a HUGE interference... man please.

  • ЗНАЙ НАШИХ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! РОССИЯ ВПЕРЕД!

  • gill got FUckd Up. eat shit mother fuckers cuz ov will put your ass in the dirt.

  • gill wil kill i mean destroy ovbitchkin

    anytime

gill wasn't ready for the hit

    and anyway ovi was crying

    it was no goal

  • the goal was not good, but dont bitch on ovechkin.

he IS the best player in the NHL, hell,... in the world.

Ovechkin cry.... come on... i think your mistaking with Cindy 'crybaby' Crosby

  • No he won't have you seen the way this man runs into people all the time. Even as a Crosby fan you should be able to see Ovechkin is one of the top body checkers in the league, that's like saying Crosby has a terrible pass. We all know Crosby has a very good pass, don't be biased because your a Crosby fan

  • Ref is dumb! 100% goal.

  • Should've been a goal when Ovechkin hit Hal Gill he was, in my opinion, far enough away that it shouldn't count goalie interference as it was more Gill interfering.

  • Ovechkin je hovado, nemam ho rád ale to co předvádí na ledě....klobouk dolů......podle mě má snad všechno co by měl správnej hokejista mít, důraz techniku rychlost přehled a tak dále, a tak dále...

  • THAT WAS A FREAKING GOAL

  • Comment removed

  • Table 18 - Rule 69 from NHL's Official Rules:

1-C: An attacking player makes incidental contact with the goalkeeper at the same time a goal is scored.

Conclusion: Goal is disallowed. The official in his judgment may call a Minor penalty on the attacking player. The announcement should be, No goal due to interference with the goalkeeper.

The referees made a mistake by not announcing anything.

If you still think the goal is good, you can't see a video, neither read well.

  • That's odd, I didn't see him make any contact with the goaltender, at all.

I really disagree with this call.

  • @foxnotch Oh really, Ovechkin doesn't fall on Price's left leg at 39 seconds up until the puck is in the goal? Must be someone else's then!

I guess it's me who's trying to be so blind in order to prove my point. ;)

You can even see Price making a translation movement toward the goal caused by 1: Gill's fall, and Ovechkin pushing him with his shoulder (clearly showing from 56 seconds until the end).

If you see no contact there....too bad. :)

  • You're right, he did make more contact than I initially thought.

I suppose if it was my call I'd rule that price was already sliding back and even when ovechkin slid into him, it made no difference in price's momentum into the net.

  • @MisterMo666 the attacking player made absolutely no contact with the goal keeper, you obviously can't see a video...gill did because of a questionable hit from ovechkin but there was no penalty called on his hit so it should be a goal

  • repping the penguins but giving ovie credit on this. damn.

  • Hit is legal, since it was pushed in its not a goal

  • I'm a goaltender and I agree with that call. The puck went in to the net because Price was interfered with. Ovechkin played Gill in to Price, which kept him from keeping the puck out of the net.

If Gill had hit Ovechkin into Price the goal would have been good.

  • Comment removed

  • that definitely was not charging, he glides in from the blue line. I can see how you may think he left his feet, because they do certainly leave the ice. However that only because as he hit Gil he used hit him properly, skated into him and lifted up his shoulder right into his chest. not until after that happens do his feet leave the ice because of the upward force that was generated...

  • @TheHockey919 you realize you cannot generate upward force without applying a downward force on the ice surface. this means he had to push down through his skates into the ice to generate enough force to lift him towards gill. him lifting his skates off the ground had nothing to do with the hit and more to do with gill's size advantage. he had to hit higher to hope to throw him off his center of gravity. i'm not saying anything about the call, but you don't know physics so don't throw bs around.

  • @magnesiumchloride77 how can you say i know nothing about physics based on what i said. i realize he had to push against the ice. i know physics, i just wasnt getting into the science of it all. just bc i didnt go into all out detail like you did doesnt mean a thing. im an engineering major, i've taken my fair share of physics courses. just figured people didnt care about the complete science of it all.

  • you're obviously a fail at physics for saying something like an upward force was generated by lifting his shoulder into gill. you would know that you cannot create an internal force and expect it to have an external reaction.

  • @magnesiumchloride77 and you're obviously a giant tool trying to belittle people on youtube. its people like you that start the ridiculous arguments on here over little comments. I mean, did you not even read my comment. I stated how I wasn't talking physics at all. If you want, I'll demonstrate this to you on the ice. You can play the part of Gill and I'll play the part of Ovechkin.

  • i'm not trying to belittle you. what you did is provide an explanation for why ovechkin left his feet that was wrong. you therefore looked like you were bs'ing to try and prove your point that ovechkin wasn't charging. now i don't think it was charging either, but don't tell me your not talking physics when using phrases like 'upward force that was generated', what would that be if it's not physics.

  • no one asked u papa go jack off to ur sidney crosby poster

  • ovechkins a BULL...This should be a goal.PERIOD! No doubt about it.l He never touched the goalie or charged. He lunged at him but never left the ground.

  • read the rulebook ..k thanks bye

  • Comment removed

  • i'm confused is Ovie playing football or hockey?

  • Oh yeah one more thing if everyone has to hate on ovechkin then why are they watching all his highlight videos and goals and hits? Im confused

  • You do realize most of his highlights now are him being a complete goon

  • 2/4/2010 500th pt

    2/7/2010 Hat Trick

Seriously BoostedTC, if u don't like him fine, but that's 2 highlights in the last week without even thinking. If ur a true hockey fan, u can respect a man's skills even without liking him.

  • yeah same with Crosby

  • charging = feet leave the ice

    pls learn the rules

  • Traveling in the NBA is like Charging in the NHL. It's almost never called

  • I dont see how the goalie interference rule came into effect on this play?.... It was a clean hit no penalty and ovechkin never interfered with the goalie making a save

  • @Cassan39 Actually, goalie interference can also be caused by pushing a defender on the goaltender, preventing him from making a save. I think that's what the referees concluded, whether we agree or not.

  • did the war room get confused? ovie plays for the capitals not the redwings
