Wait are you running ubuntu and Windows at the same time? And what do you need to make your setup look like that in ubuntu, how to activate the cube and wavy window effect and the cool stuff :)
No Ubuntu does with the help of Compiz.....I meant to say....any linux distro does with the help of Compiz Fusion. They may do some one their own...but not all.
Most of the distros now come with Compiz fusion by default.
End of the day you need the 3D supported graphics card anyway.

However if u install Yom3D, you can rotate desktops in Windows XP and Vista as well

i got everything runing on my companie laptop, its a 1.6 ghz HP with 1Gb Ram 64Mb ram of graphic card ;)
its not about hardware, its about software, compiz uses frame buffer when you aint got enough video card, so ;)
