  • R3 can be used as a midi controller ?

  • @apereztv yes. It has midi in/out and midi over usb

  • @TenThousandFeetTall i need to ask you something please: if i whant to use R3 as a midi controller via usb, i need a external audio interface ? or directly usb-pc/mac---thnks

  • @apereztv It works with both. You can just plug it into a pc/mac and use your software with it that way or plug it in with the midi outputs into your external midi equipment to sync up. I'd suggest buying an m-audio controller if all you care about is midi though. This does the job of midi, but the price is too high for just a controller.

  • @TenThousandFeetTall thnks so much, i was thinkin' to buy the axiom 25 or the microkontrol, but i really want vintage synths, but is to expensive, so i want to start with a midi controller. thanks again..

  • @apereztv I've yet to have a "vintage synth" experience with a midi controller. The microKorg is probably the best bet to get nice synth sounds and a good midi controller at a good price. If you really want those analog synth sounds on the cheap, check out Arturia's Moog emulation VSTi.

  • I think all new Korg models have the same digital sound for dance and electronica music styles. Too much muddy bass and sharp high frequencies and no central frequencies as analog machines have. One more cheap China toy only... sorry.

  • @countrymetalman You're comparing a vintage Gretsch to a starter pack Squire guitar kit. These affordable Korg synths have nice sounds for the sub-$500 range, especially when you actually add compression and a nice EQ/Delay. Notice my lack of a Moog sounds video because I can't afford one! As of late I've been turning to midi controller/software for my synth needs anyway. That choice is more about money and a lack of space.

  • Sweet patches! ...is that a vape in the top right?

And how do you like your KP3?

  • @PrivateAccount00 Thanks! Top right is my Korg EMX. KP3 bottom left. Had to sell that the other year though T_T

  • @TenThousandFeetTall - That's too bad, why is that? I'm curious how their value holds up as an instrument. And lulz at my thinking I saw a vape in the frame, haha.

  • @TenThousandFeetTall - Why did you sell the KP3? I am thinking about getting one but I'm not sure if it holds its value for the sounds it provides. Thanks!

  • @PrivateAccount00 I sold it for money. Unstable jobs, and poverty threatens my music constantly. That was the ONLY reason. It is a great effects machine. You will need to hook it up properly though, which might mean purchasing a new mixer if you want more than one instrument affected by the KP3 at once. I'm hoping to pick up a mixer with a built in pad in the future. The sampler was useless to me.

  • @kjRockintheMusic There is a dedicated knob for that on the R3. You can program arps as well.

  • Ive got the EMX and planning to get the R3, what a coincidence!

  • @omnipitantlyoriginal

yea....I'm still waiting for Korg to start paying me for promoting them so much, lol. Seriously, for the low cost, you can't beat Korg. Yamaha has wonderful workstations, Dave Smith synths sound great, but they cost too much for me right now. I've had nothing but issues with Roland, Alesis and Akai. Akai surprised me because I always heard great things, but really found the MPC lacking, and over priced. Bought the ESX instead recently.

  • I'm going out and buying one tomorrow.

    <3hope

  • 4:58 is awesome!!!

  • u r the F'ing music master

  • make some tutorials.

  • korg is scary kname
