  • The lady is obviously very proud of her cow. And rightly so.

  • This is a VHS quality and its been filmed in 90`s?! Around 95/96 right?

  • LOL! Noone is embarrassed. Ukrainians are very proud of their villages and small towns. Dear 375015568 i think you may be the only one who is dwelling on soviet mantality :) Villages are the cradles of Ukrainian authentic spirit. WE LOOOOVE THEM :)))) and all the wild goats, cows and chickens too.

  • @anyazayamusic

    in Poland is the same.

My grandma lived in a village verrrry similar to this type. :)))

  • thats good work of Yours! U show life as it is. good quality especially sound. U have a big talent. i see Your second work and am very positively surprised. life in a way is better for experience than artificial film. if only U could go gradually through all Ukraine to the places where they speak more Russian influenced language.

  • People in the west of the Ukraine should be more tolerant of the Russian-speaking majority in their country. Why do they have such a problem that some people prefer to speak Russian? I've met extremely proud Ukrainians that use Russian much more frequently than they use Ukrainian. Crazy fascists in the West. :-P

  • @maxrocks1 if there were majority of Russians in Ukraine there were no use to be tolerant--they would dominate minority. the same if in Canada French were in majority--U would speak French not English. ferschtehen See, Darling?

  • @martpast1 As a Canadian, my first language is English and I am fully fluent in French. I would love to get rid of, or use less of, English in my day-to-day life. And there are a majority of Russians, or Russian-speaking Ukrainians, in the Eastern parts of the Ukraine. Tolerance must be practiced. Tymoshenko's/Yushchenko's fascist system does not work.

  • @maxrocks1 that was quick. i guess U r from Quebec, mon Ami?

  • @martpast1 Not at all. I am from British Columbia (we had the Winter Olympics in my city this year). It is as far as one can get from Québec and still be on Canadian soil. Nor is my family from Québec.

  • @maxrocks1 many Germans were killed by fascists and even before other nations.now can U read Russian when we speak about Jews during GREAT OCTOBER SOCIALIST REVOLUTION?

  • @maxrocks1 U cant imagine real fascist system. many centuries Russians gradually tried to get rid of Ukrainian language-do U KNOW THIS?

  • @martpast1 They didn't kill anyone to do it though. Contrast this to the Western Ukrainians' actively helping the fascist Nazis kill entire villages of Jews in an attempt to eradicate their language and culture. They just classified Ukrainian as a dialect of Russian.

  • @maxrocks1 Why they were not tolerant all that time?

  • @martpast1 They were. Ukrainians were free to use their language for most of the Soviet period. I actually made a point of asking several people about this last time I was there.

  • @maxrocks1 Why they were not tolerant all that time?70 years for all Ukrainians to learn Russian was a must. why now they=Russians couldn't learn the language of the country? its so similar , they are saying, there is only one people Russian . so ,if its similar--lets put it another way round.

  • @martpast1 Well Russian is simply a larger language, and one for inter-ethnic communication (and it was the Soviet Union, not the Russian Federation). But also, it's because the borders of the Ukraine are fucked up. They were drawn along geographical, not social, lines. There is no reason that the Russian part of the Ukraine should not just be a part of Russia, and that the Western Ukrainian fascists shouldn't just have their own backward state in which to hate everyone else and be "Ukrainian"

  • @maxrocks1 lets take one point to speak about.U call Ukrainians fascists--if i call U FASCIST or Sionist or any bad name--r U going to become this?

  • @martpast1 I only call the fascists ones in Western Ukraine fascists, not all Ukrainians. There are some lovely Ukrainians. And no, I would not become that. I will never become fascists or zionist.

  • @maxrocks1 Ukrainians after breaking from Poland had semi-independent state with Hetman as a military state leader. but RUSSIA step by step canceled this and even in 1880--90 declared that there was no independent Ukrainian language but only one of Russians dialects.Ukrainian handbooks were forbidden.this was east Ukraine. but West Ukraine was under Austrian rule and had more independence. so here the struggle began to preserve language and culture.

  • @maxrocks1 Germans used this later organizing anti-Russian nationalist groups promising them to help to build independent Ukrainian state. As well as they sent Lenin in 1917 to make a mess and revolution in Russia with a lot of money. Why Ukrainian groups had the place in Germany--Russia and Poland were their enemy so... by the way when Germans occupied USSR-Ukraine, they arrested nationalist Ukraine GOVERNMENT so after this Ukrainian groups fought against Germans as well.

  • @maxrocks1 Now Jews.who is going to like Jews? When Jews look at the mirror --they stop to like themselves. Its appears to be like a joke:Jesus promised all true Christians to be persecuted and even killed--instead of them Jews are getting all these'' benefits'' through the history.why Jews were hated in Ukraine?--because...

  • @maxrocks1 or let us say i read some bad books about Jews: that they have big international organisation and its aim is to rule the world, to destroy Slavs ,for this they put leaders to the countries , like for example president Medvediev in Russia announces that he is a Jew, and some Russians start a cry "Away with Jews",they steal our money and destroy economy.--is it going to be the truth because somebody in the book put it like this?

  • @martpast1 Not at all.

  • @maxrocks1 so Ukrainians only made their language as state language--for school ,courts , documents so on. it doesnt forbid Russian speaking or books. AND THEY CHANGED the history books which were proRussian.as well as Ukrainian was not forbidden in the USSR . but Russian language turned to be dominated. now i explain about fascism and JEWS... Do U READ Russian?

  • @martpast1 Of course I read Russian. And it should be illegal to force someone to speak a language they don't want to when they have spoken their language there since the beginning of time. Besides, two wrongs don't make a right.

  • @maxrocks1 now these Jewish villages I dont know how to explain. one thing that I read is by Solzhenicyn--i 'll write in a moment. during Russian revolutions Jews suddenly received all rights. some used this doing business but many became communists(some already were--Trotzkiy etc.) so they rejected their faith ,became materialists and were most cruel CHE KA MEMBERS.

  • @maxrocks1 now where to check this-- readr.ru/aleksandr-solghenicin-dvesti-let-vmeste-chast-vtoraya.html

  • @maxrocks1 First I to remind that at the end of 19 century Russian government started anti-Jewish activity: ''pogroms'', ''black hundreds=chernaya sotnia''. Jews were forbidden to live certain places and to enter high education so on. other nations as well Ukrainians also were somehow discriminated so Russian empire was called ''prison of nations'' by bolsheviks.

  • @martpast1 True, true. Тюрьма народов там была. However, how does this justify Western Ukrainians helping nazis liquidate entire Jewish villages in Western Ukraine?

  • @maxrocks1 some Ukrainians hid Jews, some were in local police. if German commanded to help--how they could say "no''?

  • @maxrocks1 because...centuries Jews lived there. they kept lets say ''bars=pubs''. they were claimed to cheat (how could U prove) or that they made peasants to drink more and take their possessions away as debts . Lords sold their lands to Jews for several years and Jews tried to squash as much as possible.many of them even didnt do this but when a rebellion began--they all were Jews. i know that there were also poor Jews. but why many people call GERMANS --fascists?

  • @martpast1 Wow, you just hate Jews, don't you? Contrary to what you may think, that does not make you look more intelligent in a YouTube discussion.

  • @maxrocks1 U dont understand jokes?

  • @maxrocks1 imagine that today Jewish army ,lets say, goes through Arabian village.

Arabs resist with knives --soldiers kill them. if U R WITH the soldiers--how can U say:"stop, stop! i have friends between these people" ?--if U do like this --U WOULD be treated like Arabs.

  • @maxrocks1 They were the highest rank of Government and political police. so there was fame that revolution was made by Jews for Jews. They changed surnames for Russians ones.

  • @maxrocks1 and thats why about Jews many people thought like about bolsheviks at that time.even in USA there was an investigation--who could help communists.

  • @maxrorcks1 i repeat: Jesus Christ told Christians --"U 'll be persecuted all Your life--but instead of them persecuted were Jews--by whom?--mostly by Christians.

  • these are such good people...

  • back words pink apes

  • How dare you to speak like that.Your words are the pure example of bacward thinking.

  • I earned my first money with walking cow to pasture when I was 10 years old in the grandmother´s village in Ukraine...:-) The best time of my childhood...

  • I watch these videos all the time. I visited Ukraine a few years ago and just fell in love with the place. I landed in Odessa and rode up to Nikolaev. Those rural areas along the way just did something to me and I haven't been able to stop thinking about them since. I'm not much of a city peron anyway. I should go back for a vacation and I've decided that if I do I want to see that picture of heaven called the Carpathians around Ivano Frankivsk.

  • wow...You gained a really good experience! Invano Frankivsk area is beautiful. I have never been there. But, some of my friends who are from Ivano Frankvisk told me a lot about that part! You should definetely visit that place.

  • Good wholesome European community spirit here. I cannot fault the Ukranians. True Civilisation. A good future for all if we all pursue this model:-))

  • you can get all the info in encyclopedia britannica.

  • did u know that 100 years a go Ukrainian or Rusyn as it was called back then was the 2nd most spoken languafe in the russian empire, so wut happened to that, people just forgot their language and culture, no moscows officials destroyed it, places like donbass, and Kuban, and sevastopil use to be all Ukrainian speaking, but with the grnocide of Ukrainian populations, and the forced migrations of russians into these Ukrainian areas all changed that.

  • Sevastopol was never Ukranian.

Kuban -Cossack-Turkic area where Russian influence reached from the north. Donbass: Cossack land and not really similar to Western Ukranian region. Western Ukraine is not the 'Real Ukraine, because no region really is. Every corner has regional cultures. I can tell you that I cannot understand what these village women are trying to say. Maybe the polish, or Slovak close neighbors can.

  • Come on...it´s Ukrainian Language!

You should understand it, if you are Ukrainian!

I understood everything and it´s not Polish or Slovak!

  • rampageoleg ur an idiot, western Ukraine is where ppl acutally consider themselves Ukrainian, and Oblige to Kyiv not Moscow like the ppl in the east do. While there are dialects in areas, it is 99 percent standard Ukrainian. So stfu u dont know anything i lived in western Ukraine for 15 years, and it is way more Ukrainian then eastern Ukraine, U say that we are polish bitches, but if u go there ull see, that most ppl dont like the polish, but u the east on the other hand are moscows bitches!!!

  • To all they people who don't live in Ukraine - this is a _village_, our village is the most pitiest thing. Don't think that Ukraine looks like that. We have also cities :)

  • Why should Ukrainians be embarrassed? This is a very charming village scene. So people have chickens and cows? So what? You think that everything that's good and interesting has to be in a big city? That's soviet mentality! That's stupid! So why don't you be proud of your small towns and villages. They speak Ukrainian, and in Kyiv they usually speak Russian.

  • yupp. and in Kharkov too they speek both Ukrainian and Russian ^-^

  • True ukrainians don't live in the eastern ukraine. In the eastern Ukraine live hungarians-polish-modlavanian ukrainians. They don't even speak Ukrainian.. That part of the country was part of Poland and Austria for a looong time and people had changed. They are not Ukrainians

  • when was EASTERN Ukraine part of Poland or Austria, you are mistaken, it is wester, and still wester Ukraine maintains the language more, all the easterners speak Russian. you've got all your facts messed up, oh and you other comment, what's wrong with village life, they sustain the city dwellers, so be proud of the Ukrainian villages.

  • Don't you think that we have the worst and poorest villages? I'm not saying that it is all bad, yeah it provides cities with everything! But nobody gives a shit about it, no one gives money etc. I'm not against it, you got me wrong. I'm just saying that it is very poor and inhabitants are mostrly acloholics

  • yeah it's sad the status of our country, but we can't pretend it's not happening, kiev may be glamorous along with other big cities, but the country as a majority is like this, so we have a long way to go and not just pretend it doesn't exist

  • ys you are right RampageOleg. My uncle Tolik... he is an alcoholic so when we moved to America, my mom let him stay in our old appartment and made him get a job. whick he got fired then... some pple just never change. but anyway yes you are right. i agree a hundred persent.

  • My family and me speak Ukrainian in the East! Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.

It depends on people, if they are strong enough to swim against the flow!

  • real ukrainian patriots live in Ukraine.

you all just a bunch of old farts, who think they are patriots and love Ukraine

If you real patriot,go and live there, help other people,do something there...

    video is sh*t

  • what's wrong with the villages? do you thinks cities are better ? i live ain abig city and i admire these people and the landscapes.

  • Exactly. Many Ukrainians still have the old soviet mentality. They were always told that people who live in villages and small towns are stupid and backward. That's how the old soviet government wanted to destroy Ukrainian culture and language. That was nothing but a big lie. You can grow food in the villages, and that is becoming more and more important. You can sell this food to people who live in the cities and to Europe! The Ukrainian village is wonderful!

  • that's true! village can feed you in wartime. i'm from croatia, and when there was war in

90' i remember sharing two patatoes and a meat can with my mom. needless to say we live in the city. unlike that many people in the country had gardens and chickens and had more than the city population in wartime.

  • This is so scaring for me

  • hhmmm..i wish i could go to Ukraine. Sadly though i haven't in my life, and i'm Ukrainian. Anyways i think its a great place to visit for people seeeking adventures. Go to Ukraine!! or you'll regret it.

  • i remember when we used walk the cows out unto the field. i miss the old days..

  • Outstanding video

Reminds me when I was growing up in Ukraine my parents would take me to village.

    Thanks
