As important as every band member is, the vocalist's voice really just sets a very distinct, easy to recognize sound for a band. Admit it or not, but changing the vocalist changes the band. No one can replicate another persons voice exactly, but it is possible to play the same beat on the drums or guitar solo.

It's kinda a shame the vocalist usually snags most the spotlight, but its just the way it works for the masses.
