  • "i like it when you say my name" O___O hnn....

  • jack rips off doctor by wearing coat in my opion, also, master/doctor is my otp

  • @Alysin123 But Jack wore a coat way before the Doctor. If anything the Doctor is copying Jack. (He isn't but still in according to your thesis...)

  • @TheMasteOfYourFate OOHH!!! OMYFUGGINGGOD!! YOUR A GENIUS!!! * gets on akk limbs and bows to @TheMasteOfYourFate *

  • @Alysin123 Haha, I couldn't really tell if you were being sarcastic or not, but thanks for getting on all limbs and bowing before me. That's the way it should be. (By the way, my dear Watson, that was sarcasm.) Also, this isn't the real MasterofYourFate, this is her douchebag friend (the Doctor, if you'd please), and I've been trolling around quite a bit. So please, disregard everything I've said. And give me all your cheeses, you flaming pile of unicorn feces.

  • @TheMasteOfYourFate jeeze try having a heart..... i was not being sarcastic!!!

  • "Oooh, you publice menace." Yeah. The Doctor and the Master totally have a thing.

  • Oh my God. "This is Gallifrey" was playing at the end, was I the only one that noticed?

  • Master x Doctor ftw <3 <3

  • I love the way the Master asks, "How did that feel?" as if he's just relishing the idea of an answer. Unf, so hot.

  • I have this uncontrolable urge to start tapping

  • Is the Doctor like Jack?? Except you know like, not half as bad...,

  • "Let me help,"? I know this is prolly my fangirl mind on the fritz, but "let me help" were the three little words in Star Trek TOS that Kirk said meant more than even "I love you."

  • So. Hot.

  • This entire conversation is basically the Doctor trying to get the Master to have a long-term relationship with him and the Master trying to get the Doctor to have phone sex with him.

...Oh, RTD. Your thinly-veiled innuendos amuse me greatly.

  • It is Russell T. Davies' writing tbf, I'd have been more surprised if there WEREN'T any gay undercurrents.

  • Like, hey Master, you nearly destroyed the world so many times, try to murder me every once in a while, but I still love you and forgive you... The Doctor is such a jerk :/. I'd have the Master imprisoned and brutally tortured for eternity for what he's done. Ugh.

  • @Fr34k1ng0ut

you don't understand how lonely the doctor's been for how long... the humans are great and everything, but they're like pets. he's rather starved for 'human' company, as it were.

  • Oh- and is it just me or does the way the master says "run for your life" have a great resemblance to how ninth doctor said it in the episode Rose? lol

  • I love how the Doctor doesnt deny the date asking of. xD

  • whats the song at the end i can't remember

  • 0:47 - came in his pants.

  • Oh! You public menace!

  • Over 9000 fanfics were born in this scene

  • "Doctor"

    "Master"

".. I like it when you use my name"... some intense bromance lool... but seriously these two were epic rivals/enemies

  • @froggyman218 Psychiatrists field day

  • The Doctor disliked this 9 times, because he's jealous that the Master married Lucy

  • @redjirachi1 Yes, master, he was asking you out on a date

  • Is there any sound more seductive in the universe then when the Master whispers 'Doctaahhhh' in that breathy tone?

That and his "*swallow* I like it when you use my name...".

He is indeed your 'Greatest Stimulation' Master...;D

  • forget the cybermen, daleks, weeping angels..watever without the master this show would be that much worse. every hero needs a villian counterpart and thats what the master is XD

  • after watching a scene like this, I think it's safe to say that Russell T. Davies was a Master/Doctor shipper as well... o.O

  • I ship Master/Lucy too, but Doctor/Master is my OTP in the Doctor Who fandom now. :D

  • "Are you asking me out on a date?" rofl

  • The Master makes the Doctor look mature and composed by comparison. They're so great together. x3

  • "I like it when you use my name" *dies of nosebleed* Oh MY GOD!

  • @jaime8910 Inorite, unf.

  • I was waiting for The Master to start twirling his hair at 1:08, he's like a teenage girl.

  • I watched this video and now I'm pregnant. What?

  • "No really your on TELLY!" I find that very funny and adorable for some reason.

  • The awkward moment when you realise that Leo was probably listening in on their phone-sex-conversation just then :P

  • I love this scene (mostly because it was filmed where I live :))

  • @1channy4ever Ooh, you lucky thing, you!

  • One of the Most EPIC SCENES EVER

  • And the big "saxon is your man" posters in the background are there to, what, rub it in? ^^

  • This scene is so brilliant... seems 9 people aren't running fast enough, though... RUN!

  • You know Tennant and Simm actully called each other and they filmed either side of the conversation, just to make it seem real and flowing

  • When i saw these two talk, they became my favorite rivalry duo equal to or second to the Batman and Joker rivalry

  • *Master picks up phone* "Dock-taaaar..."

    Makes me shiver.

  • I've seen this a kajillion times and it still makes my stomach flip. Every single time. They're that damn good. Thanks a lot for uploading.

  • Foe Yay

  • The drumming, the sound of a time lords heartbeat

  • "So... Prime Minister then?" "I knoooooooow!" I can't help but love how gossipy/small-talky that little bit sounded. XD They veer back and forth between passionate and casual in a heartbeat, their chemistry is amazing (and I don't even buy into Foe Yay most of the time).

  • I was so glad to see that they kept up their relationship from the old series, I was afraid that because of all of the new additions and alterations to the show, they would turn them into purely enemies just to simplify things, as opposed to the lovers/enemies/friends deal that they have always had. Actually (and if anyone has seen the 3/Delgado era you will probably agree) I wouldn't be the littlest bit surprised if it turned out they were married (ex husbands maybe) XDDD

    I'm serious!

  • Doesn't it seem...well...a little BDSM? Master. I like it when you use my name...

    Just saying...

  • Completely slashy lines aside (i.e. "Are you asking me out on a date?"), tell me that the way the Master first says "Doctor," with his breath slightly hitching, or "I love it when you say my name," couldnt possibly be construed...

I think Davies and Moffat are not afraid to slashify where slash is due. I dont mean theyre Doctor/Master shippers or anything, but Moffat certainly created a slashy undertone to the already slash-ish Sherlock. That's not even mentioning Queer as Folk and Captain Jack!

  • great scene, 3. season final is my favorite :)

  • Some of these comments disturb me o.o;

  • It takes me days to get the tapping out of my head. Even now, I'm tapping.

  • @SiriuslyDistracted Why would you WANT to get it out of your head? :P

  • @TheGunslinger42 Okay Maybe I wouldn't but my co workers have informed me that they will tape my hands to my desk if I don't stop tapping ;)

  • to slash fans The Master has been trying to kill The Doctor since the 70's :P

  • @akumatekkusu666 Ah, yes, but that's all Montagues and Capulets to us. :)

  • "uh tell me how did it feeeel?"

    "Stop it!"

    lmao soo slashy

  • "Are you asking me out on a date?"

  • ooh you public menace! :D

  • "Are you asking me out on a date?"

    "LIVE WITH ME."

Seriously, instead of saying something like, "Be serious for once, etc." he invites him to travel the stars with him. Again.

  • One of my favorite parts of this scene is when the Master's like, "Are you asking me out on a date?" and the Doctor doesn't even react. He knows the Master that well that he's used to his antics.

  • the master was always my favourite character! he's bloody hilarious!

  • thumbs up if your tapping right now.

  • "Are you asking me out for a date?" Well... being together, till the end of the times... this is more like a marriage proposal for me, but yes, Master, you pretty much got the picture xd

  • If The Doctor's not asking you on a date my lord and Master, then I will. :)

(I'm a straight guy and even I think that there's something hawt about the Master. And of course Handsome Jack will get you bi tonight.)

  • Get a room... or just join the Master in his, Doc.

  • More slash than any Elm Street film

  • "Are you asking me out on a date?"

Ummm actually he is asking you to come travel with him...alone...for the rest of your considerable lifespans...that's not just a date, thats an EXTREME date XDDD

    I love it!

  • I do so love the voice they use when they say each other's names XD

And I think the master was liking hearing about the Doctor destroying galifrey A BIT too much there....... ;D

  • The idea this wasn't on purpose is laughable. XD

  • With some pairings you have to use your imagination, with Doctor/Master the slash is HANDED TO YOU. >:D

  • This is such a great scene, showing the unique relationship between the Doctor and the Master. Despite being hated enemies, they now have to face the fact that they are all they have left of their race. The Master is such a perfect opposite to the Doctor and the actors play off each other perfectly.

  • Not gay for eachother my ass

  • Gallifreyan phone sex.

  • 0:51 -insane coughing fit- yes. oh yes.

  • I like how it was already stated in this episode that Doctor destroyed both Time Lords and Daleks.

  • the background music was used in the second adventure game.

  • The Master is SOOOOOO turned on. His voice is so breathy.

Am I the only one who thinks the Doctor and the Master had... "experience" when they were kids?

  • @PS3Worshipper No, I do, too. They never stop antagonizing one another like old lovers.

  • oh, fiddlesticks. The Master's entire life is one big power trip that keeps getting interrupted by the Doctor's sense of righteousness.

  • The Master's voice is VERY breathy! This is definitely phone sex!

  • "Are you asking me out on a date?"

    Baby, just say yes LOL

  • 'hawt gallifreyan phone sex'

  • 'Are you asking me out on a date?'

Well, at least he got it.

  • Every word the Master says to EVERY woman and the doctor is INSANELY dirty or epic!!

  • The first time I saw this, when I heard the Master say "Ooooh, I like it when you use my name" and saw the look on his face, I had to stop the TV, I was laughing so hard.

Why didn't they just go ahead and make the pairing canon while they were at it? Cuz there's NO way they did that (made it sound like phone sex) on accident. XD

  • Kinky! I love this show. Although I feel bad for Martha and Jack right now since the Doctor's too busy having phone sex to pay attention to them right now. I should also mention another pervy thing: The Master repeatedly refers to Jack as handsome and then proceeds to keep him chained up in his basement for a year. Wonder what they were doing...

  • @EternalSailorNeptune Well, if John Simm were talking to me on the phone with that sexy voice I would be ignoring pretty much the rest of the world. I always found Martha a bit annoying anyway.

  • Master: "Oh you public menace! Better start running... Go on, run."

Doctor: "He's got control of everything."

    Martha: "What do we do?"

Jack: "We've got no where to go."

Martha: "Doctor, what do we do?"

Master: "RUN, Doctor, run for you life."

    Doctor: "We run."

    Master: "I said, RUN."

    Brilliant scene. :D

  • i love how turned on the Master gets when he's talking about Gallifrey and Skaro burning. LOL :)

this is soooo OTP. Tyler justs didn;t bring this level of sexual tension :)

  • "Ohh, I like it when you use my name."

Uhh, slash much? xD I love it.

  • "Oh look your on tv! " XD

  • Oh god, what would I do to have John Simm talking with that voice (2:36-2:42) on the phone with me?

    Love the Master/Doctor thing. Hot!

  • The score to "Utopia", this episode & "LOTTL" is so fantastic, and improves upon already perfectly written and acted episodes!

  • the phone conversation with drums BGM was very flashy!

  • Cool

  • Oh Handsome Jack's Gang (TORCHWOOD) would've laid some serious whoop ass on Harry Saxon especially Gwen !!!

  • run Doctor, RUN! AS FAST AS YOU CAN

  • Doctor..

    Master

I like it when you use my name..

    You chose it

    haha love those 2

  • such sexual tension.... steamy..

  • I'll agree with the slashy hints, but I think they're a bit one-sided. Maybe there was a bit of Doctor/Master in the past. But now the Master is the angry ex-lover, pissed that he's been replaced by some stupid apes from a dingy little planet.

  • @bugeyedmonster2 Really? I think it`s far less one-sided now, if only because the Doctor is suddenly willing to talk about it, sort of. And really, the Master`s -always- been the crazy ex; now he just lacks some of the trust he had

when the Doctor says things like `come live with me on my TARDIS`, arguably for very good reason (as seen as recently as EoT). I think the Doctor is still the far less emotionally invested one, but that`s not saying much considering their history.

  • I hear the drums now ._. TEAM MASTER 4EVA

  • "Are you asking me out on a date?"

    XD

  • Ooof, how slashy is that scene? I'd forgotten how hot it was ;P

  • I can't remember lol sorry =/

  • 2:50 and the Doctor/Master shippers go wild...

  • yes, yes we do.

[insert long, sigh of happiness here]

  • @BowieGlam only 2:50?! I was squealing from 0:35 and up!

  • OMFG, on the phone. at about 0:55 the doctor says "psychiatrist field day" lololol

  • oh look your on tvv! " STOP IT!! haa random

  • "Are you asking me out on a date?" "Oh! You public menace!" I love John Simm as the Master. Can't wait to see him again the Christmas 2-part special.

  • same here i like it when you use my name lol

  • Somehow, I knew they would bring him back. That line is funny.

  • I thought of him coming back as soon as I heard "it will knock four times" - duh duh duh DUM.

    It's gotta be the Master's drumbeat:D

  • Yeah, same here. They always bring back the Doctor's main enemies like the Master, Davros, & the Cybermen.

  • lol i was thinking the same, so came to check haw much the drum beats :p

  • Nope. The Master is coming back, but that is far too obvious. It's a red herring. The Master's back, but he doesn't kill the Doctor.

  • /heartbeat.

  • "Oh you public menace!" ROFL I LOVE THAT LINE!! I never thought that majorly psychopathic evil aliens could be so funny and charismatic. :D

  • "I like it when you use my name."

    wow... uhh... huh

  • Love this scene

    David and John Are Brilliant!

  • the master isn't gone, the same guy is playing him in one of the specials this year. apparently he comes back through that ring at the end of the episode.. remember? Flash Gordon moment!

  • Long live team timecock, I say. Why'd they have to go and kill him off? I like this incarnation. He's the best Master ever, far more interesting than Daleks. They could at least have had him in more than two episodes.

  • Agreed so hard.

  • Long live The Master

  • I love the Master-the Doctor is cool too but his rival does not share the same moral values as he and this makes him a far more interesting character, imo. Almost like how the Doctor would be if he decided to turn evil heh. Awesome character, awesome show, can't wait for the next episodes-I just hope the new Doctor is as good

  • i think he hears the drumming cuz he looked into vortex and it effected him like no other also the drumming sounds like the theme tune ( where the time vortex is shown mostly) du du du dun, du du du dun, du du du dun dun

  • I heard that those 4 drum beats are the sound that the timelords play on Galifrey when there is a war, the Galifrey war drums or something.

  • i thought everyone that watched the episode knew that

  • love the doctor who season

  • This is brilliant how they've written this, the first time I've watched this I didn't actually listen to what they were saying. But now I realise how detailed the conversation was! I so can't wait for christmas!

  • Oh you public menace lol

  • omg...lol. "are you asking me out on a date?!" gotta love it!

  • Really well written. I wish they'd spent more time fleshing out the Master's...backstory, insecurities, feelings... Of course it can't be helped, they had to tell a story, but oohh, when they did it was so worth it.

  • I imagine they will in future as he'll definately return, though the writers have changed so it may be that the show itself changes. I doubt it though, and would love to see an episode focus on the Master and how he came to be the Doctor's nemesis-I know bits and pieces but it would be good to see it on screen. I just hope they keep the same actor and don't replace him with someone else, as he plays the part brilliantly

  • The doctor knows how to survive coz hes lived as an outcast for so long. Resourcesfulness, determination and brains are the qulaities that make him stronger than the master who has to obtain great power to make himself in any way dangerous

  • Hate is such a strong emotion that can unlock passions in people. I've just disgusted myself.

  • Favorite. Scene. Ever. "I like it when you use my name." LOL! Poor Jack must be jealous... but I digress :) I love the dynamic between these two. Their past relationship is so believable even through the ambivalence and confusion that's there right now. Fantastic writing, fantastic acting.

  • They're enemies, but in their own twisted way they're the most important people to each other.

  • I think it's as simple as this: The Master is hate, and the only thing he loves in his twisted mind is the Doctor. He hates the Doctor for the same reason-he can't escape the very thing he despises. The Doctor is love-compassion and forgiveness. He tries to hate the Master, but his normally peace loving nature takes hold, even then somewhere down inside he believes he can "fix" him.

  • love it when they start running

    what a great team!

  • It's strange, their enemies, but theres this strange repetoire and familiarity between them. They're on opposite sides and yet seem so incredibly close.

  • I know what you mean and I do think they were together at some point and you can fight me on this point but it's that or maybe they are lost brothers or were just really close friends. Maybe it's just because they are the only one's left but really examine them together.

  • They were good friends in time-lord school (No, I'm not joking). The supposed reason that The Master is as vicious as he is is that he was made the disciple of the personification of death in place of The Doctor.

  • DOCTOR, JACK & MARTHA ARE A GREAT TEAM!

  • what is the music?

i have been trying to find it

  • "Are you asking me out on a date"? LOL!

  • "Oh! You ... Public Menace. "

    Classic.

I absolutely love John Simm as the Master.

  • I think he's coming back.

  • he is; he's scheduled to come back for the christmas special

  • Oh, you public menace!

I loved this episode, up until he played Voodoo Child. After that, and for most of Last of the Time Lords, it was all a bit naff...

  • Excuse me for being an idiot, but what exactly is the Cruciform that the Master talks about? Is it the "it" mentioned in the "Planet of the Dead" as part of Cecilia's prophecy? I think it could be something to do with the Daleks but I'm not sure. Any answers?

  • Isn't it the massive ship that the Daleks are using in 'Stolen Earth'?

I know that the Daleks and Davros refer to that ship as the Crucible.

  • No, the Master said "Cruciform" not crucible. I checked. Seems it's a Gallifreyan weapon of some kind.

  • Comment removed

  • @MorroccoSurrogate That was SOOO sexy! :P

  • @MorroccoSurrogate lol u have so many thumbs up and nobody can see ur post now

  • I can not explain how happy this scene makes me. It's so slashy!!!

  • "I was there when tha Dalek Emperor took control of the Cruciform. I saw it." could the IT be the IT that is returning through the dark lady from Planet of the Dead talked about?

  • might be... more important is that the master seem to have a come back "and then HE knocks four times" :)

  • yeah, it took me a while to get that

  • ur onto something there is it the daleks though or is it the daleks ultimate weapon that destroyed both sides

  • I thought it was the Hand of Omega that was responsible for the destruction of both sides?
