Nick Gillespie is so great. I just read this book by Miss Shlaes, is very good. I don't understand people's violent criticism of her analysis. you can disagree, but those that resort to insults show they have no valid ideas to stand on, or are at least intolerant of civilized debate.

However, she is with the CFR, a Globalist cabal, so caution. she also stands on the assumption that the Fed just didn't know about monetary policy then, oops -- I instead question why the Fed even exists.

oh yeah, they failed multiple times, in the 1890s, in the 1920s and now in the 2000s. Laissez faire is a bankrupt ideology because people are greedy and need to be controlled, just like laws exist to keep criminals at bay.

A compromise that works has been developed - it's called socialism. If Roosevelt had done nothing socialistic in the 30s, A. he would've been replaced by either a communist or a fascist like Hitler, and B. There would have been a revolution.
