  • obama: don't worry about anything. govt has the answer!

  • war on terror? LIE. we are the terror.

  • Nobody seems to realize the ego this Rev Wright has. People say why did it so long for Obama to denounce Rev Wright? I don't know about you but me I'm not gonna shit on guy I for 20 yrs. The same guy that married me and my wife, and same guy that baptized both of my kids doesn't matter if Im running for president or not. If he was McCain's or Hillary's pastor he would've got thrown UNDER the bus. But for Obama to defend him and he turns around and shit on him, your right Bill Maher he IS a dick.

  • The rev.Wright really disappoint me in the way he tried to sabattoge Barack Obama's campaign. He acted like nothing less than a clown last weak, and now that's the legacy he will leave behind. Honestly, i think Obama just suffered through whatever he heard in the pews just to maintain close community ties with Chicago's biggest church (African-American). I think he's been sincere with everyone here. This guy is a rock! Everything has been thrown at the man & he's still standing-

    O B A M A -08'!

  • I am glad Obama has denounced that jackass Rv. Wright. The man is a threat to his nomination and he has done the right thing.

  • people look the only person talking about collective unity is obama. clinton is to busy trying to distract people from that. i dont know about anyone else but iam not letting clinton corrupt back side come in and give me 8 more years of bush administration.GO OBAMA!!!

  • I am a proud member of the supporting citizens of Barack Obama!

  • Obama's camp should have talked him out of making comments concerning statements HE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH!!! This was not important (Rev. Wright's speech), to Obama's campaign. The Reverend Wright has the right to say whatever he pleases--5th amendment rights.

  • what did he wrote?

he was keep mentioning about his book. I hope its not about auto biography about barak obama.

  • If Obama and Wright are so close, why would Wright want to cripple Obama's campaign?Hillary praises Reagan in her interview, but criticized Obama for his positive statements about Reagan.

She denounced NAFTA, while her top advisor, Mark Penn was "a-dealin'" in Columbia. Her "quick fix" gas tax holiday is political trickery to win votes. Hillary rattled her saber to get us into the Iraq war, but now wants to bring our troops home. In the meantime she pronounces to "obliterate" Iran.

  • am black and am very disappointed in those few blacks who feel that obama owes them a favor. obama is a symbol of unity and change, if anything he is no more black than he is white and he is no more american than he is african. thanks to the U.S FOR being a country that has enabled a man of diverse origin to accomplish so much. its about time we as black ppl rise beyond the odds and stand up for ourselves then once he's the president he can give us all black and white a boat to steer on. OBAMA08

  • barack obama i am inlove with uuuuuuuu

  • I'm sorry for the hurt you must feel, I know something of being hurt by a minister. I have heard so much hate in my 63 years in and out of the pulpit. As a white activists for Civil Rights starting in High School I joined hands with my black brother, was called a n--lover, saw people I brought to church asked to leave. When I became a pastor I thought I could it would change-instead I was fired. I attacked for bringing my gang kids to church.Rev Wright has done much good-remember that. blaine

  • OBAMA!

  • I feel that the commets made by the Rev. were on point and Obama just needs to STAND UP FOR US and SAY YES THESE THINGS HAPPEN TO BLACK PEOPLE ACROSS AMERICA and WE WANT CHANGE but for him to say the Rev. was wrong NO NO Obama you are wrong..

  • Be the change that you want to see.

  • I voted for Barack Obama in the Pennsylvania Primary last week. I could never vote for Hillary Clinton or John McCain. I doubt very seriously that I will vote for Barack Obama if he wins the Democratic nomination. When you are afraid to stand up for truth, you don't deserve support. I am appauled by the Obama's repudiation of Rev. Wright and the overall non-engagement of the Obama campaign with the Black community.

  • go obama, the world behind you

  • He rules!

  • If he doesn't receive the Democratic nomination I will be disappointed. Please!

  • its gots to be tough, but we will rise together and make our country better for the future....trust you

  • I agree with EVERY word Sen. Barack Obama said, and good for him for saying it.

I believe he is very sincere, and will fight for the middle and poor class.

    Obama in 2008 & 2012.

  • Is Barack saying that US crimes against the Iraqi people are not terrorism? Really?! Abu Ghraib? Fallujah? The invasion itself? This is a shameful statement!

  • This video is probably not the best marketing mix - it doesn't fit with the product line of selling "no political tactics"... this video is the very definition of one. very sad.

  • see

    Iraq Quote Volume One

    v=8D5DhK3lx-4

    Vote Obama!

  • cmon obama.. u sold out on your pastor and let the media get to you.

  • Why does Obama distance himself now?

    Why not 15 years ago?

    Why not 1 year ago?

    Why not in January?

Whatever the Rev. Wrights shortcomings, they are balanced out by Obama's political expediency that even Hillary would admire.

And if Obama becomes president, his wife Michelle may be a bigger threat than Wright ever posed. Michelle looks like an angry, angry woman out to right wrongs.

  • heal america

  • I do not feel safe with Obama. I want a leader who knows the game, walks the walk, talks the talk - that type of person knows how to deal with the other dishonest sharks in the pool. They see them coming miles away. I want a hard nose dealer in the Whitehouse. Those in past history such as both Roosevelt's, Eisenhower and yes even Bill. For as much as people disliked the good ole boy game and the back room deal, they got the job done. Jimmy Carter tried what Obama is about, they ate him 4 lunch.

  • omg i just wished obama would win! i mean like his speeches are like the things that the world should have and what the world should do. I DONT GET WHY PPL ARE GOING FOR CLINTON OR THE OTHERS? THEY WANT SOMETHING TO BE HORRIBLE AND HAPPEN TO HAPPEN? Some ppl do tend to corrupt. There will always be a good and bad side... Obama's words are a true candidates words and should be sworn to be fullfilled... =\

  • OBAMA is a true voice of courage and hope. He said with firmness and conviction what needed to be said. I am uplifted by the way he talks about getting back to the real issues that truly matter. In a way i feel the media hype has allowed Barack to demonstrate his commitment to real issues, it allows him to separate what is important from what is not. I hope the public will listen to him. I am not of faith but I prey he becomes President, we need his Presence and Leadership in America- NOW!!!

  • Hey Obama moderator... if you finally allow ALL comments to be posted I say thank you and its about time. If not, YOU should be ashamed of yourself. YOU are obviously a Democrat who I'm sure is "open minded" and "tolerant" but you will not allow people to post their views here. You are acting more like a communist government who controls the media. Ouch to you and Obama!

  • As a Canadian neighbor I hope you folks vote for this guy.

Wright will live with his own legacy of trying to stop the first black man from becoming president, the vary thing he has devoted his life to. He had his fun for a day and got some laughs but I doubt he made any new friends.

    Obama's speech was great!

Most people I talk to here like him as well.

  • Does racism exist in America? Yes. However, it is better than it was a generation ago, and the only way it will improve is by the efforts of people like Senator Obama and NOT by the tactics of people like Rev. Wright. People are willing to move on and leave slavery and racism behind if we can be led by someone who has a correct and healthy vision of the future. Obama may have the vision, Rev. Wright does not. Rev. Wright wants to continue to regurgitate past problems.

  • I'd criticize but I don't want to be labeled a racist.

  • it's gonna be SO great to have a President with integrity and REAL values!.. Go Obama!!!

  • I ultimately support Barack Obama for the Presidency, but there is nothing inherently false in what Jeremiah Wright has spoken...

I understand that it is a necessity for one to separate themselves from comments the mass public will view as incendiary, but I see no connection between perceptual obligations and our quest for object truth...

With regards to Jeremiah Wright...Don't Persecute the Messenger

With regards to Barack Obama...History Will Be Made in '08

  • I feel like the only person in America who's not offended by Reverend Wright. Even the AIDS thing...he said it was "possible" given some of our government's other actions. That's not an unreasonable perspective to have.

  • Hi jonperry. Science does not support Rev. Wright's assertion concerning AIDS. According to a PBS special I saw, AIDS came to the USA by "patient zero" who was a flight attendant from South Africa, which surfaced in the homosexual community first. This male flight attendant was accused of being a sort of "Typhoid Mary". I want to say as well that Rev. Wright's tone is not biblically sound. The Bible also does not support his assertion concerning AIDS, and asserts it's spread through sinfulness.

  • that wa a nice speech

  • It is great to hear Obama say this. I was scared that he had the same anti-american ideas, but now I can see that it is wrong. Thank God. Obama really isnt that bad. I just disagree with a few of his policies.

  • Im from Australia and I really think the American news stations are taking this Wright stuff way too far, especially Fox News from what I've seen here on Hannity's show.

What's more concerning to voters... a bitter preacher from Chicago? Or the fact that the U.S economy is awful and rich people are STILL being taxed, this endless war in Iraq is STILL going on, millions of Americans STILL without healthcare + MANY other issues.

American media, get over it. Grow up and get responsible fast.

  • I LOOOOVE OBAMA!!! He make politics INTERSETING! I watch CNN now and the Bill Mather show. Even during this controvesy he stills leads in the polls Right Now.

    Polls: Obama:46% v.s Clinton:43% Obama:47% v.s McCain:45%

Its a close race but his still in the lead (according 2 CNN)

    OBAMA 08

  • Just keep doing what you're doing Barack - we're behind you to the presidency! The media and their distractions WILL NOT DIVIDE US!

  • Disappointed that you turned your back on Wright, man.

  • Obama claims he wants to bring unity. So far Obama, his ingrate wife, and his way far left cronies have done nothing but divide, and set race relations back 40 years. OBAMA, HERE IS A BULLETIN, PLEASE DON'T GIVE PRETTY SPEECHES ON UNITY AND HANG WITH RACIST ANTI AMERICAN PEOPLE WHO JUST WANT TO DIVIDE. THAT WOULD BE A GOOD START. I THINK OBAMA IS A GOOD PERSON, I LIKE HIM, BUT HE ASSOCIATES AND WAS MENTORED BY PEOPLE I DON'T LIKE.

  • Rev. Wright is divisive in the sense that he has given into grudgeholding, speaking in anger and resentment without offering any real solutions to the problems. No matter how justified he is in being angry because of this country's corrupt history, and he does speak many truths, no one can move this country forward if we focus on the past. Obama has the chance to make things better for Americans of all ethnic backgrounds, and we're focusing on his anger about our history.

  • I don't understand why Wright wants to destroy Obama and his presidential hopes, but he sure is doing a great job. It makes no sense. Why would he do this?

  • GOD BLESS BARACK and MICHELLE OBAMA! They are the SOLUTION for the ISSUES we face here in America! Check your BIBLE PEOPLE! JUDGES chapter 4: verse 6 - BARAK LEADS THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL OUT OF BONDAGE! It is GOD'S WILL THAT BARACK OBAMA LEADS THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OUT OF BONDAGE IN 2008!! GO OBAMA!!!!!!!

  • This is a speech that I have been waiting for. I think he should have done it the week the Rev. was first on the news networks.

  • Go Obama, change isn't easy. He's going to beat Stacy Flic(Hillary C) and everyone I know is behind him, can't you just feel the right change its coming and fox hates this more than anything. PLEASE WAKE UP YOU-TUBE!

  • the major media HAS, i'll admit, been pretty nice to Barack since this press conference. maybe... juuuuust maybe, we're genuinely moving the F*** forward now with HIS message and not some manufactured distraction from folks who really don't even know - or CARE - WHAT they want to run the country!

  • he was wrong and he said so. WHo does that these days? An Honorable man of principle with a clear vision. He started this campaign to move beyond the distractions and old ways of thinking. Wright is wrong.....he is not Barack Obama. Come on people...

  • I don't buy it! How can you sit in a place of worship for twenty years and not know how your spiritual leader feels about things. If that is the case (that he didn't know) then he is not too bright. And how can you take your family and children to listen to him. OH,how the story changes when it comes to the forefront.

  • All what we need is to see W endorse Wright. Hey, his name starts with W, and the rest is "Right".

  • change but he clears himself up when he says in this video, "I... we started this campaign..."

out of the contents of the heart you speak.

selfishness? self serving? himself first before others? sounds like a politician.

im just sayin youre free to your opinion as well.

  • well this explqines a good lot

  • I think it is a problem that the President of the United States must act not only as head of the executive branch of the federal government but as a cultural figurehead, or as someone criticizing Obama's not wearing a U.S. flag pin on the news put it, "America's no. 1 cheerleader." He was trying to get across how important the job of "cheerleader" was.

  • Thank you Senator Obama, this definitely shows why you should be the leader of this country, your unwavering beliefs in the common good of not only yourself but the American people and by recognizing that separatist comments and actions only turns back the hands of time instead of "OUR" goal as a country which is moving forward together and solving these problems we face each day and making a difference for the common good.

  • In sept. 2007 i put on a Barack wallpaper on my pc.Folks around me didn't believe it would help, everryone believed in hillary.Today things are different, and i am proud that i never changed my mind.

  • Question:

Would you rather, have your government pay your healthcare bill year after year. Or would you rather your government, start researching such projects as a $2000.00 per year solution to family energy needs? The goal being for under $2000.00 a year, a family would have enough energy to power a home, and 2 cars for a year.

What would save you the most money? What result would be the best for America? Please I would love to see America's answers on this.

  • I hate what Jeremiah Wright is doing to Sen. Obama. It sickens me, and I understand Sen. Obama's anger.

I agree with everything you're saying in this video, Senator. Or should I say, President Obama. That sounds so good. lol

  • It's a shame that our media is so dysfunctional that Obama needs to do this. What a shame. What a waste of time and energy. Why don't we Americans stop watching the crappy infotainment media that creates these phony controversies?

CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN and Faux News are destroying America and turning us into children -- and most of us cannot even see it. Most of the comments here show just how infantile we have become. Our society is regressing to a primitive state because of the idiot box.

  • Barbara Reynolds organized the Jeremiah Wright National Press Club speech. Who is Barbara Reynolds?

A former editorial board member at USA Today, she runs something called Reynolds News Services and teaches ministry at the Howard University School of Divinity. (She is an ordained minister).

It also turns out that Reynolds - introduced Monday as a member of the National Press Club "who organized" the event - is an enthusiastic Hillary Clinton supporter.

    Go figure!

  • I am from Denmark and do not always understand the way of doing politic in US because you are focus on The MAN/WOMAN and not the politic but i hobe that Obama ore Clinton becomes the next in charge.

  • Obama not only raises the bar for character and strength in politicians, he raises the bar for ordinary people to continue to strive to be a decent and honorable people.

It is going to wonderful when he is President.

  • agreed

  • Difficult time, Obama is the man for the job. The media is giving to much attention to Wright and get the rest of us distracted by these remarks that don't put food on our table nor solve the health care.

    Let us move beyond

  • Check!!!

  • Obama is so presidential in this speech, as he usually is. I am glad he finally showed anger or toughness as Hillary claims she is the tough one. I am sad for him that he lost his friendship wbut he is right to denounce him. People need to focus on other things, the problems we are having in this country and how most are struggling, worrying. Obama gives me hope and strength. Finally I can be proud! Finally someone who speaks my language! Finally someone who cares for the people!

  • antithetical = being in direct and unequivocal opposition. In case anyone else wasn't sure what that meant.

  • How is he so skinny? Can I get me some Obama juice or whatever he does? Holy cow! hahahaha okay back to my funny videos.

  • Another example of why we need Obama as our next president. Steady, not jumping to conclusions, trying to work things out but finally saying enough. Where is Pastor Wright's compassion and caring, hallmarks of a good pastor. He should hide his self-centered light under a bushel!

  • I don't know. I think he may have jumped the shark. To bad, now we will have Mac-Bush or Hill-bill-lary. WMD's or sniper fire, can't wait to be lied to for another 4 years.

  • LoL ain't that truth 4 more.

  • I am so glad that Obama did this. It needed to be done. That is why I am a firm believer of separation of Church and State. I am proud to be an Obama supporter. Obama '08!

  • just to let anyone know, seperation of Church and State was formed to protect the Church from legislation taking away our constitutional rights to worhship freely. Freely meaning whenever, however, wherever, and whoever.

    just to clear that up

  • Once more, proof that this man has the intelligence and temperament to be president.

    Go Obama!

  • Rev Wright is a jackass. There is a very real chance that a popular and highly skilled African American senator will become the 44th president- its not just many Americans want it, but many people around the world as well. What is Wright playing at?

  • I saw the pastor's whole talk and q & a. Thought he was great. White people are pretty fucking out of touch in north america!

  • I just watched the Rev's video & Obama's response to...I will tell you right now that Obama is the winner. You can't tell me there is not one person who has believed in someone & given them the benefit of the doubt until one day they wake up to a slap in the face. We've all heard "3 strikes & you're out!!!" Everyone needs to look at the positive side of Obama, which in my book is 100% more than Hillary possesses. Thank you.

  • I agree with Barack. The Reverend was not just "defending himself" at the Nat'l Press Club. The Reverend was - forgive me for saying so, acting like a big "ham." He was being hurtful to Barack and he made himself look ridiculous in the process. He did however, do Barack one favor. Now everyone should be able to see just how different Obama really is from the Reverend (if they didn't already know)! Obama '08!

  • It is unfortunate that it had to be delivered, but this is easily one of the top 5 speeches of this campaign. Sen. Obama solemnly responds to the Rev. Jeremiah Wright press club Q&A. Sen. Obama goes on to discuss his motivations with the deepest honesty in response to the Rev's trivializing of his and this campaign's mission.

  • there's some people are jealous cause they don't want change in America they want John McCain to be president to go in Irak in 100 years oh my God how about the economy in 100 years is he crazy vote for Obama and you will have a solution for the economy of America

  • I suppose it would be too much to hope to back to real issues like the lack of a real clean energy policy in this country that would foster business growth and good jobs in this country. The McCain-Clinton gas holiday proposal is a perfect example of what energy expert Peter Schwartz of Global Business Network describes as the true American energy policy today: "Maximize demand, minimize supply and buy the rest from the people who hate us the most."

  • it was hard for obama..

    But thats allright!!..

  • God, he looks dead tired. I think he has a right to feel betrayed and wronged. I saw Rev.Wright's National Press Club appearance, and he looked like he was enjoying all this media attention. He doesn't seem to care about Obama's situation at all. I think Obama has a full right to feel betrayed and wronged. Wright made him sound like a dime a dozen corrupt politician during his speech. Was he jealous that young man like Obama was getting more attention than him? This is a shocking turn of event.

  • Bob Herbert of the NY Times had it right- why is Rev Wright trying to damage Obama's chance to be president, to be the first black president!? Obama's candidacy is so positive and exciting for our country. GO OBAMA.

  • Obama needs to go on the attack! He needs to go after Clinton and McCain now! This whole Rev. fiasco has tugged him off track.

Sen. Obama, when you speak to teh American people, bring back the voice that controlled the stage during the Pakistan/Afghanistan discussion at Soldier Field, Chicago. That is the leader I want to hear from.

When you discuss Iraq, Economy, Health Care, Education, Jobs, and the enviornment, I went to hear the voice of a leader. The voice of my sons future!

  • Obama 2008 - All the way!

  • Actually, I'm glad that the Rev. Wright said what he did at the National Press Club, because now Barack is able to distance himself from him without compunction.

  • yeah!

  • Religion and faith should be a private think kept out of politics.

Maybe one day reason will triumph over superstition and an atheist can be elected as president again.

  • Australian supports you Obama.

  • Germany too !!!

  • The person who organized the National Press Club meeting is a firm Clinton supporter...

  • GOD is on your side Obama, continue with great speed and effort and dont lose your stride you are a great over-comer and this too will pass

  • the reverend is legally insane

  • Sometimes in our lives, we all have pain, we all have sorrow. But if we are wise,

we know that there's always tomorrow.

Lean on me, when you're not strong and I'll be your friend.

I'll help you carry on, for it won't be long 'til I'm gonna need somebody to lean on.

-Bill Withers You can lean on us,Barack!

  • the only reason that wrieght and the bitter comments are over blown, is because of the media, clinton and mccain...remember, that they are all owned by the lobbiests and special interests.. and obama threatens there hold on the powers that be..

i find this whole issue as a ploy to fool the american people, and to topple his mission to limit there control. we as a nation need to see the truth and to unite against the old ways, to make america the way it was meant to be again.

    obama 08

  • Barack, If you like it or not this will continue cos its wot anti- hope stand for. But to make it happen please just leave this behind you and go on with a stronger active speach about what you stand for.

Speach which are strong and agrressive about hope, those speech that will make one jump from his sleeping bed and embrase change.

If you keep on in this rather cold way, I am sorry your bismircher(opponents)in this race will gain more advantage with their strong vain words and vain speaches

  • This Pastor Jeremiah Wright is just causing controversy after controversy and despite all that Mr.Obama has conducted himself extremely well and with integrity-not like Mrs.BILL(hillary)CLINTON with her PATRONIZING,CONDESCENDING attitude towards some Americans and Mr.Obama

OBAMA/08 TIME TO START CHANGING FOR THE BETTERMENT OF ALL

  • It's a good start. He's gotten rid of Wright, now he has to get rid of William Ayers. Next...he either has to tell his wife to stay in the background, or stop saying that America sucks. Nobody can become president if you have negative people around you...it's that simple. The public doesn't know anything about Barack...except for this garbage. It has to stop, in order for him to get elected. SIMPLE AS THAT!!!!

  • Someone please tell me why he didn't do this long ago? You got to know what it has been about for the last many years and just accepted it with the others as if it was OK. His judgement has to be questioned. Now its not OK with him because Wright let it all out of the box. Would Obama do this if he would have been able to contain Wright? No, he would have let it ride. Come on, you can't play all sides of the game. At least now he makes a rational courageous stand against the very wrong Wright.

  • i feel a bit sick about this. I don't see anything wrong with what Wright said.. or anything hateful.

And honestly.. if someone can believe that jesus is the real god... and someone can believe jesus isn't the real god.. then what the hell are we doing judging people based on what they believe.

Let the man believe aids came from the government. His belief shouldn't affect Obama...

  • Hopefully this incident will send a message to other politicians that religious hucksterism is a liability rather than a convenient PR-tool.

  • I know he had to do this, but...Idunno. I don't buy it. I don't remember Wright saying anything that black people in america disagree with. *shrug*

Time to make a new T-Shirt.

  • I only wish you would man up like the kids say ,and get down to the real issues

we all know the Racism is still alive and well in America and your former Pastor is really playing Step and Fetchit ,by his action for these same people . Hillary is depending on this Racism to over turn what should be. So

  • I believe that you are only candidate that has the vision and gut change what's going on in

Washington! I believe America is in trouble if you don't win this election. I will admit I was an avid supporter of Bill Clinton when he was running for president, but in contrast I stand Hillary for the kind of race she's running .

  • I'm not an Obama supporter, but I am very glad he is distancing himself from Wright. That man preaches nothing but hatred and intollerance. He is no different from the baptist preachers of the early 1900's, except that he is black and not white.

  • The most optimistic man on the planet! WE have to learn from this man as Americans. HE IS WHITE AND HE IS BLACK. GOD BLESSED US WITH THIS COMBINATION IS OBVIOUSLY AND SPIRITUALLY FOR US TO WAKE UP!

GOD FORGIVE US FOR OUR STUPIDITY IN THE PAST AND BE WITH US AS WE MOVE FORWARD TOGETHER AS AMERICANS.

(I'm seriously crying, everyone)WE have to pray everyday for our country and Barack and his family (whole family). Please take time out to pray.

  • Barack - Sorry that you're blind. And how can a blind man lead america. If you don't believe what you've said, it would be better not to speak. But if you do believe what you've said - you're blind.

  • We're still behind you Barack.

  • I'm pretty sure Obama is "ISKING" (spelling not sure) himself WRIGHT about now; "Just how in the hell did I get Ted Kennedy's endorsement again?"

  • Hmm i could of sworn that everyone was sayin he can't leave rev wright hes known him for so long..But now he says hes pandering to voters..now its oh god get rid of him..And even obamah wants to "somewhat dis own him".But goddamn america he couldn't be mad at him he was like an uncle..Lol ya should of cut him off a long time ago.Your a wolf in sheeps clothing.I just want to thank Rev Wright Lol

  • why is no one talking about John McCain announced that he was "honored" to receive the endorsement of Pastor John Hagee, a Texas-based preacher who can probably be most charitably described as "pro-Apocalypse"??? that is way worse than Obama's little hiccup

  • Our prayers are with you.

  • Twenty years later...Obama's just discovering this? Don't buy it.

  • If where church were truly seperate from state, what bearing would Rev Write's entertainment have on Barack's Presidency?!

A well-spoken man like Obama needs no interpreter to reach out.

May Barack first justly earn the Presidency, then break the US media oligopoly.

    (Yes, he can)

/ Johan Thomas from Uppsala, Sweden

  • Good for you Obama. We're all in this together and need to keep our eye on what's important. Rev. Wright is insignificant and needs to be treated that way by not only the Black community, but the Amercian community and by the media. It is time to pay attention to what is happening in our country, not what some self appointed demagogue has said. Thank you for being you.

  • Thank you Barack!

  • i don't think obama completely agrees with what he's saying. he doesn't seem genuine or committed to his statements. when typically he makes an assertion he believes true, his faith in the truth provides him confidence, and his confidence is what gives him his eloquence. he seems very uncomfortable, perhaps torn now between his religious beliefs which must become private in order to maintain his candidacy. part of him i think wants to defend his pastor. he did not convince me here.

  • Is a Clinton suporter behind this issue?

I've read that a clinton supporter helped Wright to organize the whole thing.

  • Barack you're pretty cool but it sucks that you have to do this.

  • he's the man.

    and i'm not even american.

  • Excellent speech, but questions remain. Are you still a member of Trinity church? Do you support the black value system?

  • nice try clintons , very sneaky on trying to destroy obama campaign, but its not gonna work. obama 08!!!!!!!!

  • The true mentality of this nation shall be shown if this man is not voted as President of the United States come November. Politicians constantly prey upon our fears and hopes only to get into office to pursue self interest. Is this country once again ready for a President who will actually serve the people? Baracks' campaign and focus for this country is scaring a lot of Americans. It is based on the one thing that many people of this country are obviously TERRIFIED of- CHANGE!! Vote OBAMA!

  • catholic priests molest children constantly. yet damaged goods alter boys like sean hannity show up on sunday so they can put money in the offering plate for the legal fees of a serial child predators. which is worse - a pastor who has said controversial things, or a priest who sexually assaults children? so...

obama has clearly stated he disagreed with the statements made by the former u.s. marine. when will sean hannity and the media voice their disapproval regarding the the catholic church?

  • While Wright is a certainly a liability, he speaks the truth.

  • Who has the most to gain by Wright fighting to stay in the spotlight? Hmmmmmmm. There is no reason I can think of why he would go back onto national television and open up old wounds. Why? It doesn't make sense, unless someone made it worth his while..

  • I WANT SEE ALL VEDEO.

  • Too little too late. Drop out for the sake of the Democratic party!!!

  • Obama did you listen to what Wright said? I just listened to the Press Club thing. He mentioned reading two books on the HI-virus. Despite all the comments and press, it sounds to me that Wright was defending you and the press is spinning so even you fell prey to believing it.

  • Obama will be fine. Obama's faith in the American people will be vindicated. Americans don't beleive in guilt by association. Not in our legal system, personal lives, or proffessions.

Wright saying "GD The USA" looped 24/7 didn't confuse the electorate, neither will this.

    A blessing in disguise...

God's ways are not our ways...

    Obama 08.

  • zibbiz from NYC

Remember when the media and the Republicans stirred people up with the idea that John Kennedy as President would take orders from the Pope? Apparently the media, the Republicans, and even Barack's nomination opposition in his own party are still at the same place they were in 1960. Don't all those lawyers know that Guilt By Association is a pitiful prosecutorial technique? Fortunately, the American voters have progressed to 2008, and will vote for Obama on May 6th.

  • OMG!!! Never before in U.S history has a politician had to answer strongly for SOMEONE ELSES statements. Is this what politics has come down to? Hillary does not answer for her "Screw 'em" comment, Mccain does not answer for his gaffs on his recent Mideast trip, not even for soliciting Pastor Hagees endorsement. I am truly proud of Barack. Thanks for nothing, Rev!

  • Nothing like trying to save your own butt, and this isn't the last we will hear about this what about NAFTA Barack already made a deal with Canada not to change a thing.

  • I hope so desperately that Barack Obama now will be able to win! Love you Obama and good luck!

  • Let's not be swayed by the ignorant close-minded media that is trying to manipulate you against the true essence of the Obama campaign; which is a movement of change that is imperative for our society!!!

  • Y'know, this may be just the thing he needs to finally demonstrate his Presidential "Experience" that some these naysayers like to continually bring up. Decisiveness and Wisdom in situations that call for him to be the example of what we know is possible and desired in this country. On an aside, I can feel that pain he's feeling...I had a best friend who decided to show his authentic feelings towards me with some very hurtful actions after over 12 years of friendship-he was like a brother to me.

  • Senator Obama represents a fresh breath of air in a Washington that has been for too long dominated by the special interests of the few against the rights of the many. He is honest, smart and principled! He can move this country forward into the 21st century.

  • I believed from the start that Barack is for real. He has always been very clear and consistent about his vision. Honesty and integrity - what we need in leadership.

    Obama '08

  • Wright has another agenda besides Obamas. I wouldnt get 2 reptitive saying that Wrights views wasnt yours. A balanced minded person already knows one persons views doesnt necessarily line up if any wit another associates. Im sure they can place themselves in his shoes. Good 2 say 2 them as a reminder, but some may seem, you view them as dumb. Great 2 hear ya speak up on Wright sayin its a attack on the black churches. Wrights stringin' things together. I do feel where Wrights coming from though.

  • For your public pain and 'transparency', I salute you.

For your private pain (along with Michelle, Malia and Sasha) I feel for you.

  • OBAMA 08! Si Se Puede

  • The chickens have come home to roost. Have a live discussion with the Reverend Barack. Sorry but this sounds so much like a "politician" trying to save face.

  • Amen, Obama!! I'm so glad that he decided to speak out on this. Everyone just automatically assumes that his pastor's views reflect his own and they clearly don't.

  • I feel really badly for Barack. I have belonged to the same church for over 30 years and I would hate to think that the world would judge me by my pastors opinions. It's actually kind of ridiculous if you ask me.

I'd like to know how much money Rev. Wright took from either Hillary or John to do what he did? I bet it comes out someday that that is exactly what happened.

  • Down and out

  • From watching Wright's speech yesterday, I can't understand why his comments are considered offensive and why Obama must distance himself from them. Seems to me he made the point that it is an issue of "style" and the media using sound bytes...if more people could take the time to understand what he is saying, I feel they would find it is perfectly logical and not threatening or offensive...... feedback???

  • This is a politcal bait and switch.

The Pastor's new appearances have been purposely outrageous. He went out of his way to be the biggest racist clown the world has every known. He aslo threatened and insulted Barack, whose not just a church member but a personal friend.

So what happens next? Well, Barack gets free license to shun Wright creating a percieved distance from him. Now, Barack can't be blamed by black, religous or the liberal left voters

    Bait and Switch....and so transparent.

  • I tried to hold myself from posting something..but i'm confused...

what is it that Rev J. right say..that was Sooo devisive ???

I'm a crazy supporter of Barrack Obama...that man changed my view on things..he changed my life...

I'm an open minded person..I would really like to know what's so devisive in opening up a wound and treat that wound with a better medicin ???

PLEASE SOMEONE ON THE OBAMA TEAM...or even OBAMA himself answer that question...

  • Barack is reaffirming what I already know. Now lets get back more important issues, like gas prices, health care, our economy!!!!

    Obama 08

  • Senator Obama joined Rev Wright's church for no other reason than to gain a political foothold in Illinois. Is sad and ironic that now it seems Rev. Wright may in fact be his political downfall....Politics makes strange bedfellows

  • Sen.Obama, please wake up and understand that no matter whatever you say there are some people in this country that has a negative and dangerous opinion of you regardless of how many times you say you don't share or hold any racist feelings towards any race of people period!Kennedy,King,Malcolm X,Sadat and first and formost the Prototype of all PeaceMakers the man who coined the phrase Common Sense, remember him?Your own race will turn on you before any other race so bless bro.wright & move on.

  • Barack Obama, You are my vision of an ideal American. I believe in your message and I can tell from all of speeches that I have watched that you actually get it, you understand the message of this country to rest of humanity. I am a registered Democrat and I voted for you on April 21st in PA.

    Lets win IN and NC!

  • Well well well Obama could be the best president America never gona have, all due to Wright, too bad. This is bad for Obama.

  • You need to not comment on this any more. if you don't begin to deal with ALL the problem people face hillary will win. to talk about your minister is petty. and it makes you look petty. take a few day off with your wife and learn how to rise above the meaninglessness. and stop apologizing for what others say. you need to call on jesus

  • This is a stand up man. I have soooo much respect for him.

  • Nothing of great consequence ever transpires without trial. Gold is refined by fire even as perfect order often masquerades as chaos. At this time in our history, this story could hardly be written as a lovely fairy tale. The forces that are arrayed to challenge the passing of their time, will not go down easily... while covering their ears to the undeniable and growing chorus in the distance... 'Change' Yet they are helpless to defy destiny as defined by the will of the people. QBAMA 08

  • The Clinton campaign is running a kamikaze mission into the ground which ultimately ends up hurting the Democratic Party more than anything. Rev. Wright IS NOT Barack Obama, so let's stop fear-mongering, Hillary, and let Obama's message of hope unite the country and help us all in the long-run!

  • 2008. 1968 all over again.

  • I'm really disappointed in the media. I'm an aspiring journalist and I'm disgusted at how they've been handling this. What happened to journalistic integrity? I know Fox News has none but for the rest there's no excuse. Rev. Wright is a nut job and anyone with half a brain can see that Barack had nothing to do with his comments. Journalism is supposed to be about reporting the FACTS and letting the people form their own opinion, not choosing a side and slandering those not on it. I am saddened.

  • of course some of rev. Wrights statements are quite ridiculous like the AIDS link he makes.

However, he is right when it comes to how racist the USA still is, for example the goverments police force is 10x harder on blacks than on whites. people like wright need to be able to express these issues as blacks feel hopeless in this hypthotical 'racism is from the past' idea the white media holds on to.

  • Don't let this get you down bro........

you have millions pulling 4 u............

    GOBAMA!

  • All those who say that Rev. Wright is

"ANTI-American" for criticizing America are basically implying that Corrupt Policies And Racism IS AMERICAN.

  • Barack, We know it was hard divorcing yourself from Wright. But sometimes in life we outgrow those who are close to us. You gave him the benefit of the doubt, but Wright was clearly toxic and he had to be disposed of. I'm sure you'll be able sleep good from now on. You rock, Barack!

  • To be honest, I don't think Barrack actually cares about the whole race thing, it's just his ticket to the white house. Rev. Wright has always acted like a bigot and Barrack is still half defending him in this.

If it was my religious official or good friend, and I was in Barrack's place, I would speak with a little more umph and aggression. He just doesn't seem like he gives a crap, he just doesn't want to look like an a-hole and win the votes he'll probably lose.

  • I'm praying that not only will this put this matter to rest once and for all but that people whose only exposure to Obama has been the negatives this garbage has sent their way will hear and see this and realize what a special person Obama is and how damn lucky the country will be to have him as our President!

  • Excellent!! Now that the load has been cut off, it's time to win IN and NC.

  • narouspk says: Now that the load has been cut off, it's time to win IN and NC.

inmyhumble0pinion replies: With all due respect, please don't be so naive as to think this Rev. Wright controversy is over. I assure you the opponents and their rabid supporters will continue using Mr. Wright as a tool for their political agenda.

But that doesn't mean that Obama supporters should do nothing.

Obama needs us now more than ever so show your support and don't abandon him in this difficult time.

  • It hasn't been cut off. He still can't explain 20 years of this guy and the country isn't buying his politicing. He is proving to be nothing more than a politician.
