  • Think that the ford having more traction and holding the brake till dmax lost trction explains this. i like all american diesels they all pull good but as far as hauling alot of weight up hill u wont beat a duramax, tug of war is not in any way the test of truck strength, all this proves is better traction, u could take a half ton and drag a 3/4 ton if the traction is right ive seen it happen. but both good trucks!

  • The ford is higher up, so the rope was pulling the chevy up, while pulling the ford down and giving it more traction. Plus it's heavier. These things rarely ever have anything to do with the make, just circumstance.

  • Stock versus stock, there would be no contest. There are to many variables that could be determining the outcome of this vid. Tire size for one. The Ford has a much larger amount of rubber to the road. What mods do they have? Look at the strap angle. In the hierarchy of diesels, anybody who knows their motors, knows that Cummins is King. Followed by Duramax and then Powerstroke. Do your homework kids.

Hear me out... the engines, transmissions, and axles are the same on 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks. Even the weight is close. The only difference is, is the springs. A Ford F-250 will still out pull, out last, out run, and out haul a chevy 3500.

  • @chevy383strkr straight up the 7.3 is a way better motor at pulling weight than the 6.7l they got now. they just made that motor to get up in the same hp range as gm. and duramax sounds like its runnin rough and it cut out.. probably fueling issues which makes performance lack alot!

  • No its not...Axle ratio is different, and the trucks are heavier... Not to mention that the Ford was about 18" higher where the Strap was hooked causing it to pull up on the rear of the chevy Thus less traction for the Chevy, I've never been a pull-off guy becuase there are so many different variables involved. Tires, axle ratio, where the straps are hooked, and mostly, who actually knows what they are doing, Just wait for the other guy to break the tires loose.....its rather simple.

When a taller truck pulls against a lower truck, it pulls at an upward angle instead of no angle. When that happens the lower truck loses traction and therefore is at a disadvantage.

    you do realize that there is almost no difference between a 250 and a 350? the only difference I can think of is that the 350 comes with a dual wheel feature which the truck in the video doesn't have. Plus didn't seem to me like the Ford struggled at all.
