  • Back up about 10 feet so people can actually see it!

  • @outlawracer2229 well you have a point. yet by backing up I show my neighbors houses and basically show my street. when you live in a tiny house you are living against the law. to make it legal I would have to be on someones property. they would have to meet all the codes of the city and state. they also might be responsible to the city for my services. to live this way is to live secret. yours Earl

  • @bikemessenger7 Take a look at the video. That was already done.

  • I am building mine now. It is a stress free project. That is the only rule. Hence FUN!

  • @anyonefindAMERICA1 good luck my friend. its a great project. I feel very at home in my house. my rule would be to make it as lite as you can. yours Earl

  • @bikemessenger7 That is a concern of mine. I am just completing the outside. I hope that the corners I cut via weight loss do work out. I am trying to "keep it simple" inside. Once I get it to where it will stay I can load it with "junk" all I want. This minimalist existence is going to be a challenging adventure. The best Eric

  • Nice clean tiny house I was living in Morden Manitoba in A big traveltrailer people would watch me when I would read or work on my truck I am thinking of building tiny house on A 18x7 car hauler that will give them something to look at...

  • @RossManitoba if you do build one my friend let me know. I am interested in how you plane to build it. I would do mine a bit differently if I redid it. I would want lighter and lower for one. also I would at a hose for grey water passage.

  • how big is it. 8x1? 8x8? give me the deets

  • @guitargeek1122 its 13 feet long and six feet wide, the inside is 8 feet tall. the roof is flat so I can use it as a deck, its 8 feet by 16 feet. though once I started hanging out on the deck I noticed that people started watching me. they would just check on me every 10 min or so, I imagine they would then turn to their wife and say "he is still reading that book". after a bit I stopped using the roof as a deck, even at night people would notice and just stare. oh well. yours Earl

  • @bikemessenger7 Oh, Gosh- don't let the mundanes run your life. Get back on that roof and read that book!

  • @angelcarnivore ha! well I wish I could do it. but the curiosity never seems to slacken and I would think that someone would eventually feel the need to "do" something. maybe just walk over and say hi, or maybe something else. its part of the draw back of living in a tiny house, its hard to do legally. anyone could call the city and force me to move! thought its been years now and no one has bothered me. I will read in the park! ha! yours E

  • @bikemessenger7 I've been through not feeling comfortable, or allowed to be in open spaces because of people looking, even just walking or jogging... it's insane the peer pressure we can feel from strangers. Still, your tiny house is awesome and I wish you well!

  • I haven't seen anything inside the house beside seeing him talking while holding the phone in his hand.

If 'am wrong i stand to be corrected guyz!!

  • @MrFrankiepoo I know what you mean, we were in there for 40 seconds and you see some hooks and bags on one wall, a mirror and in that mirror you see the back wall, another self and things hanging on hooks. I have more videos that show more of the inside but the thing is, you can spin the camera around and all you will see is a very small space with all my things in it. my kitchen and bed and everything else inside 13feet. so I cant show much unless I show you everything I own. see?

  • so Cool.

I'm starting mine and people who have done it, are inspiring.

    Great Job !

  • I gotta build me one of those...

  • @gorillaMaticIAP you would love it! its like camping everyday, it puts you in intimate contact with your day to day living. how much water you drink, how much fuel you use, what waist you produce. in summer its hot near the roof yet cool near the ground and in winter it costs me about 18$ to heat, and it gets warm being so very small inside. its not a perfect way to live but I have yet to see that pulled off. yours earl

  • It would be so interesting to see how the tiny house was built. maybe a future vid? =)

  • @pangoo actually I just told a story about how hard it was to build at times because I did most of it myself. perhaps i will show some features of the house and talk about its construction some time soon. good idea

  • I used to have a tiny house - it was a mansion compared to yours 10 x 15 and had electricity.

  • Tiny houses rule!

  • Earl DeBarge, don't you dare give visitors any coffee. Only MALT LIQUOR. Don't let me down, I swear to fucking god.

  • This is pretty amazing. I love alternative lifestyles. I'm curious about the location of the house. It looks like it's just at the side of the street somewhere? Is it attached to someone's property?

My dream would be to live on a boat (biggish cabin cruiser) - which would kind of be like a tiny house. Maybe one day.

  • @darrylsloan its on the street! the law allows me to park there less then a month. I have been living there about three years. I was talking with one of my neighbors about that. the fact that I have not been asked to move has much to do with how cool my neighbors are and how cool I am. I am quiet, clean, polite and always smile and say hello to everyone. I too dream about building a raft home. what a dream! yours earl

  • @bikemessenger7 How do you manage for electricity and internet? Also what sort of a work arrangement to do have? I am guessing that you don't need the typical stressful 40-hours-per week scenario. And maybe this is why you are so cheerful all the time. :-)

  • This i amazing Earl! Shows that you are one amazing man. that all you need is the essentials to live a great life

  • @bolognasmoker thats a great statement! I am happy you enjoyed this, I was nervious about showing it too much. so I guess I have learned a bit about sharing things that I love. yours Earl

  • Ah nice! you gave her some lipstick & rouge ; ) Absolutely adore the tiny house and the man who built it! xox

  • @ICharmaine ha! I forgot about the old "L&R" oh yes she is looking very good right now. I finished a day ahead of the rain as well. if I was more awake when I got home I would have watched the water pour off the house. now I just need to do a winter clean out. get everything out except winter stuff; then I will be snug and dry. I'll have you over for coffee soon! yours earl

  • @bikemessenger7 Looks like a cozy place for coffee in the cooler fall and winter months. We could snuggle too, huh!?! Coffee with Earl at the tiny house. YAY! I can't wait!!! : )

  • ahhh earl I think your bike might have a bit of paint on its handlebars now.

  • @iambpell ha! you are right, some on the tire and seat as well. in fact I got some on my van and my neighbor saw it, he told me about it and I said "yeah, it does have paint on it now" in way that said "and now it will have paint on it forever" so he got a wet rag and came over and wiped my van clean of paint! I also got paint all over my work pants, I stepped in some and then stepped on my bed so I now have paint on my sheets. I am strangely unaffected by all this. just happy its painted. E

  • @bikemessenger7

Haha I think it's because you grew up without getting brainwashed into material things like everyone else, I love how you love everything lmao it's awesome.

  • You are truly awe inspiring, Earl. I admire you. In fact, I wouldn't mind living in a tiny house of my own!

  • @fellowtuber123 the only thing that would make the tinyhouse cooler was if I were to put in on a barge and live on the river! I would love living on the water. I could swim to the islands all summer and chase deer with akela and swim back and lay in the sun on the roof. maybe some day! yours earl

  • i know a TARDIS when i see one

  • @mrlowdangle I love the idea of redoing the TH to look like the Tardis, course I can just say that mine looks like this...need to find some blue paint! yours Earl

  • How long have you had it?

I am so curious. I might end up doing this someday lol. Also, is it a one bedroom house? Id assume yes. Maybe a small bathroom too.

  • @MrRuigni I have lived here about three years. it has a bedroom loft. the bathroom is not permanent, you can set it up and take it down. I think thats best though I have seen the fully set up houses like mine and I think the small rooms are very cool. I just find my needs are best met when I can move every thing about. this is a challenging way to live but I love it. yours E

  • @bikemessenger7 Wow so you have a bathroom you set up? Like a thing you set up and then a porto potty? It sounds like that to me.

Do you know anyone else who lives like this? Its an interesting concept for sure.

  • i really could live in that .. give me wifi and a guitar and i'm set .. or just give me a guitar and i'll be a bard fuck the wifi!!!

  • @Bjouesbijou oh yeah, I think you would love the roof of my house. its 16x8; a perfect place to give a concert!

  • COZY!

  • @WtfEggsBbq yep, most of the cool months just the dog and I generate enough body heat that the house is very warm, it costs me about 18 dollars to heat it for the entire winter.

  • is this actually where you live??

  • @Avirexwun its is my friend. for about three years now. yours Earl

  • Inadequate space in which to store MALT LIQUOR. Secure a zoning variance and build an extension.

  • @FallstaffBrewingCo oh man, I can actually store enough food and water in it for a week. the roof can be Malt liquor storage if necessary. I think its best that I dont contact the city for any zoning questions, I think they might have a few questions of their own! yours Earl

  • I bet you save alot of money living like that, props to ya

  • @83ChevyImpala in most ways I save allot. oddly my food bill went way up. I dont want a propane fridge so I buy my food every day for the most part. thats not much of a draw back though. maybe some day I will break down and get a fridge. yours earl

  • I bet you could fit that house on top of a mountain :) lets try it, oh you should film it too! hahah! Your house is truly awesome, Earl!

  • @pangoo thats the idea, having a house I can move about. though this was my first try, if it was going to be "movable" I would rebuild it much smaller and lighter weight so that my little van could pull it. though is someone had a mountain top and offered it to me to live there they you can bet I would find a way to get it up there!

  • Henry David Thoreau would have approved... At least I think he would have

  • @flimbabulous oh I think he would at that. much of my life is close to his "laws" I would not call them ideas or guild lines as he seemed very sure that his ways were the right ways it seems to me. actually when I started building it I thought it would be a good idea to break down my living experience in the same way his did with his book. maybe on my next tiny house I will do that. yours earl

  • Earl, you are an amazing man. Honestly, and simply amazing. I wish I could describe how I feel in words when I see you release videos like this, but I couldn't do it justice. The way you live, and the person you've become through your life is an absolute inspiration that so many people can use to help themselves.

  • @BrixXSM oh what a lightning bolt of joy you are B! Thanks for you fine words and thoughts. deeply yours, Earl

  • That's cool. Isn't washing (yourself and clothes) a little tedious though?

I'm strongly considering this lifestyle, mortgages scare me.

  • @GirlyVoice for most showers I joined a club. its cool to take classes in yoga and lift weights at times, I also set up a shower and toilet in the center of the room as needed. it means pouring your shower water on the plants and carting your "waste" to a bathroom ( I use the boat dock bathrooms, it cost me $30 to use them and the dock for a year) as to washing my cloths. I go to the Laundromat mostly but I also have a "wonderwasher" you can see that one in "earl washes his cloths" yours Earl

  • sweet

  • @b2mgreatest so sweet, its like an extra 7 grand a year. I kid you not.

  • dude. that is so. awesome.

  • @fulishproductions its changed my life, it also sets the guild lines a bit as well.

  • @bikemessenger7 guild lines?

and, the change was for the awesome, man: you are a true force among men. fondest wishes to you my friend...i should be makin a vid for you in a bit :P

  • Cool little place Earl

  • its exactly as I would have imagined it, if I had ever imagined it.

    It's tiny. And it's a house.

  • @StottA78 little house means freedom. believe it!

  • That is tiny! Nice work, Earl. Since seeing it on your channel background I've been curious about it.

  • @SounderAU two hours to paint it all and even a gent as tall as you would have plenty of head room. fits a full size bed with enough room for me and the dog easy
