@jcdntn55 You haven't heard of them because you are too cool. People like you make me giggle, You elitist clowns act like no music is good unless you like it. Congrats on being a douche. :-)
@LykanKhan No, I'm actually as far from cool as one can be. I was just kidding. I listen to all types of music, but just didn't find any of these bands very interesting... It doesn't mean I don't recognize their talent, I just don't see any of them going "mainstream". By the way, just because you don't find certain bands interesting doesn't mean you're an elitist. I don't mind if someone has a different opinion than me... but I couldn't help notice that YOU do.
I grew up in akron and first saw dolly trauma at a keg party where I bought the cd with placebo on it for $5. Wish I still had it.... Check out co_conspirator, storm king and rue...other great bands from the area.
The band Shun...is the vocalist's name Billy Howel? If it is...he was also in another band I listen to called Sans Seraph...now hes in some other band
this is a horrible description but i need help...here it goes.found a band thru last.fm years ago..remember rlly likin them...only remember the words eyeliner and astronaut(not much help right?)i swore it was like save the astronaut or something close.havent found anything yet...help me if u can any1.
@turbodub501 I hope he figures out who it is. I went 3 years only knowing the name of a song from a certain band.. I googled every so often, but it took 3 years before I found the name of the band, and was able to secure all of their songs. Was an awesome feeling... The band was Sides of The North. The song I had was simply titled "Revolver Wedding". It said nothing else. Luckily, ONE person put the lyrics up which lead me to them. That is what inspired me to post these videos...
@LykanKhan wow thats awesome i go through stuff like that all the time kinda just not to that extent. but i like what you have to offer and if you look at my channel i have an album up of my favorite band Irepress. If you like what you hear you should look up their second album Sol Eye Sea I and just search for 'Diaspora' you will probably enjoy it.
Dolly Trauma was stunning and I'm suprised I havnt heard of them before.. I've known about Shun, and The Mayan Factor for a while, but both of them are also amazing. I love the idea of spreading underground music. Great vid.
You have listened to the same song(s) every night for 9 years? WTF? I admire your dedication/obsession... but I must recommend that you expand your playlist beyond 1-2 gigs of music. There's a lot more awesome bands that YOU'VE never heard! Thanks for the video.
I listen to a lot of different music.. I said I listened to that song almost everyday.. It's not the only song I listen to, though. I'm pretty sure I have about 15gb worth of music.
Hey you wouldn't happen to have any clue of info. of an electronic song that has a female singer and the lyrics are about about alcohol, sobriety, and just life. I heard it on the radio one time and the bastards never said band name or song.
the song/band style would have something in common/sound with bands like Juniorboys or Ladytron.(it was mellow almost like Stolen Identity-Hey)
the song was perfect, and just desperate to find it with very little info about it.
@TheInvisibleSkyDaddy I just got a 1.5 TB harddrive and loaded every song I have in media files from 3 diff PC's and a few smallish Harddrives and I have nearly 70gb, not 15gb - I just never had them all in 1 place before so I didn't know...
Do you know where I can find Twice the Sun mp3s, if I could buy their CD I would but it doesn't exist.
I saw that myspace music page but those aren't the original mixes that circulated back in the days (like that amazing mix of reach out)
btw you've got a hell of a great collection in these videos, I loved Warflower and a bunch others you got that I never heard b4, thanks for posting this.
@LykanKhan What I really want is Reach Out (the original version). I keep finding this badly mixed rock version like that one on their myspace music page.Which starts with Piano and a power chord. That one sounds awful, like it was slapped together in their garage.
The one I had fallen in love with long ago starts with a really cleaned up un-distorted electric guitar melody. Recorded realllly well. This was the one that was circulating the net in 2001
@LykanKhan I think that something bad went down between them and Roadrunner and the rights to that original song are in limbo.
Like.. the original mix (that beautiful one) belongs to roadrunner so Twice the Sun can't just put it out, but roadrunner isn't using it for anything, so it's caught in legal limbo, and It's litterally nowhere on the net now.
I guess all the harddrives failed by now, and all the CDs are scratched so no one preserved it. (That's what happened to me)
I have Dolly Trauma's self-titled. My cousin gave it to me when I visited him in Ohio a couple of years ago, I think him and the guitarist were friends. Evora is still one of my favorite songs ever.
Thanks for that info, checked and they have the songs up for DL that I was missing! Hadnt checked in a while, looks as though someone started the page this year which is awesome.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing your part 2 video.
Excellent video as far as taking me down memory lane :) Big fan of the old BBM, Mayan Factor and especially for having Shun included in this...you wouldnt by any chance have listened to Kocide before did you? I cannot find their mp3s anywhere now :(
In Reverent Fear are now named Stomacher. Which is strange because one of their albums they released under irf was called stomacher.

FBI's first album was so much better. The 2nd was good...but the 1st was one of those albums that you knew you had something special
exhalewellnessdotcom 2 years ago
That "something special" that their first album had belonged to the Deftones.
Their 2nd album was more of their style and it was the one that got them big online.
