It is a bit confusing, cos he is still playing his IGR stuff live as birch book. I dont even know what name he is touring under. i have seen posters saying both IGR and BB AND just Bee of BB and IGR...anyways it doesnt make the music worse. I like both, but i can see how BB takes some getting use to if youre mostly into the more experimental stuff he did in IGR.
we recently saw in gowan ring/birch book in st. louis and were sorely disappointed by the "americana" route their music has taken... all accoustic guitar and harmonica.
two in gowan ring tracks were played during the whole show, and we never saw this beautiful instrument... it was so sad.
My husband set up a free show for them in the Tower Grove Park music stand gazebo in the summer of 2007. We advertised the hell out of that show, but hardly anyone came because it was 100 degrees that day.
@kasnyder Oh I know. Welcome to St. Louis, right? Same thing happened to me when I booked Provision and Glow at HiPointe and MoreMachinethanMan at the complex. I too promoted the hell out of it but St.L crowds mostly suck if you aren't a huge artist.
@kasnyder I was playing with B' on that tour. It was sweltering, but a really fun show for me, and a lovely venue. My time in St. Louis is one of my fondest memories of that tour. I plan to visit St. Louis recreationally this summer, based on my experience there and the wonderful people I met there :)
LOTR anyone? :)
