  • Stupid commentaries about BOV's make me laugh so hard.

BOV's doesn't give more power to ur engine ass¨¨les it just prevent ur turbo to not break when u release ur throttle.

  • @tjpessego Actually a bov can increase bhp by 1-3bhp

A bov allows the pressure in the intake to be realeased.

This allows the turbine to start to spin again quicker... This reduces the turbo lag.

    Dont you feel stupid now?

I love when you get a Mr know it all trying to give his "weeks worth of knowledge"

I suggest you do your research on the subject in hand, maybe you wont feel silly next time.

  • @SuPrAmAd101 in a petrol yes but diesels doesn't have a throttle body, and use that built up pressure to cool the pistons

  • @doomie61 He didnt state whether it was petrol or not. I was just proving the point that they still "do" increase bhp.

but yes thank you for correcting my post.

  • @SuPrAmAd101 wat r u fucking retarded?? u cant hear it or read the engine label?god ur stupid....

  • @weedissafer Unless you read the whole conversation that iv just had... DONT post.

i know this is a tdi, i wasnt replying to the video uploader.

  • @SuPrAmAd101 You gain NOTHING, if you don't have a dump valve and you request full pressure from the turbo then release the throttle it close's now all that pressure will then go back through the compressor and causing a problem known as compressor surge/stall, dump valves are only there to stop that so you don't break your turbo.. look up compressor surge

  • @doomie61 a standard turbo car has a wastegate which allows the pressure to be released anyway.

  • @SuPrAmAd101 wastegates only control boost from the exhaust side of the turbo (turbine) and cannot release pressure that has built up from the compressor side.. wastegates and dumpvalves are two totally different things

  • @doomie61 when you let off the throttle its negative pressure. meaning the pressure reverses.

    this wont hurt the compressor.

not even sure it could spin the compressor as the fins are only pointed one direction.

  • You going to cause issue's for yourself diesels don't need dump valves as they don't have a throttle body, you just making your turbo work harder as it has to re boost the air that got dumped out

  • @doomie61 some diesels got throttle like tdi CR. But that not cause no throttle but different turbo wist Variable geometry so there is no over boost lie in normal one in petrol engines.

  • @StavrosCustom

You mean the anti-shudder valve, 1.9 tdi has these too. The only thing you need to do with that is throw it away (just like the egr valve). Diesels don't need valves, only fresh cold air and intact ic hoses for good boost.

  • @doomie61

right indeed, please remove that shit immediately from that great engine. and go get a gt2260v with a milltek exhaust...

  • dump in diesel!? LOOOOL

  • Nice, a tractor with a dumpvalve!

    TDI.. Tractor diesel inside

  • can't see why people hate on diesels.. 50mpg with decent power.. you'll not get that with any petrol ;p

  • @Ludderz07 I don't know about that. My dad and me both share a Rover 620SLi that's been modded to output close to 400bhp and on the motorway we managed to eek nabout 46mgp out of her.

  • @MrJbfan2010 i'm saving up for an astra, with 'decent power 1-200 bhp' you could probably get about 50-65mpg ;)

  • @Ludderz07 Astra's are good cars. I would recommend the 1.8 Sport if you can get one, but be careful of rust around the rear wheel arches.

  • @MrJbfan2010 didn't know about the rusty wheel arches, thanks for the tip.. i heard the 1.8's are guzzlers, chap at work is trying to sell his

  • @Ludderz07 No problem, I've seen sever 1997-2001 aged ones with huge rust holes on the front of the rear wheel arches, so I thought I'd better warn you. The 1.8 is actually more economical than people make out, the 1.6 is actually worse because it's got so much less power than the 1.8. My mum had a 1.6 in her Vauxhall and she found that occasionally she had to pull away with full throttle to stop the engine from stalling.

  • bring what ever you drive and i will still drive the shit out of you

  • @fredster800 did you enjoy your holiday on elevenareef?

  • Man....Very good way to the worst performance......

  • fail :(
