Even the greatest misses some times, look att the patch change in the end. Herbie plays the clavinet lick first time with the horn sound and slowly changes to clavinet for the next phrase ...who has not done that.

Well, Watermelon Man is written in a 16 bar blues form, so in theory it is Jazz, but when you add the keyboard junk, and the funky rythem, it starts to sound like pop.
